If peja, bibby, brad all leave today, will you still be a kings fan

I meant, as a basketball fan.

I don't want the city to fork over $250 mil, but I think they could look at "outside the box" solutions as well, but I haven't heard anything out of them except whining about why the Maloofs should pay for it. Push through a land deal. Develop some property and use the proceeds to help. Look at taxing certain industries (hotels, taxis, ???) to raise funds from visitors - I know I pay certain additional taxes when I stay out-of-town and I am fine with it. I would support a small tax increase on property in the 4-5 county area to finance something (I live in Sacramento County, so I would be affected). Figure out some way to turn some profit from the railyards to help the CITY OBTAIN A WORLD-CLASS FACILITY for events of all kinds. It is a city jewel we are talking about, not just a place for the Kings to play.

I just see a lack of will and imagination to get something done (heck, or even try) by the illustrious city council in Sacramento.

Yeah, and probably more of one than I am now. Because those guys have value so if we move them it'll be for something good. Their no D act is frustrating as heck and my favorite player at the moment right now is Bonzi anyways:D

You can't help but become fond of your starters (for the most part) after a time... but they aren't the reason for my being fan of the team.

Now that I think about it, if all three mentioned were traded tomorrow, I would be sad to see them go - but to be honest, the anticipation of watching the "new" line-up in action would be refreshingly exciting (at least in theory).

I have not watched NFL football since the Los Angeles Rams went to St Louis. I hope this isn't deja vu all over again. I can be hard-headed at times. ;)

The only players I give a damn about on the Kings now are Peja, Bibby, and Miller. The guys I like, Divac, Bobby Jackson, Jim Jackson, Songaila, etc., are all gone. Right now I'm just stick with whatever team Peja's on.

Most likely. If Peja, Bibby & Brad all left today, I am assuming we get some major talent in return. If that's the case, heck, yeah, of course I'm still a huge Kings fan.

If, however, Petrie gets little in return and ends up hurting the team (not to bring up any past trades or anything:o ) I will have serious doubts about this organization and it would be hard to watch if they continued to self implode.

I could go on forever about some of you fairweather fans :)

I am 33

Been a Cowboys fan since 7
Been a Angels fan from about 10-15 then went to the Giants in 88.
Been a ND fan since I was born
Been a Hoosiers fan since I was born
Been a Kings fan since I moved to sac which happened to be in '85 (actual fandom for me may be in '86 not sure) Before was a pacers fan since birth till the merge to KINGS!!!

My point being with my little speal, all teams have ups and downs, BIG UPS AND BIG DOWNS.

This team has good ownership. THIS is one point that is KEY to a teams success. It is all about the owners and what they are willing to spend to put a quality team on the floor/field/alley (if you like bowling teams)

Now they can mix the players up all they want to try and fit the pieces together. Every team has ups, tops bottoms downs. Why is it that a lot of you seem to be falling off the WAGON during our lastest dip?

I have a rope HOLLLLLLLLLLD ONNNNN I WILL SAVE YOU! I will be on the Wagon until Sacramento is no longer the word in front of Kings.

I'll be a Kings fan even if Peja, Bibby, and Brad all leave the team...
as long as Reef is a King.

If Reef is gone, that's a totally different situation.

These three are last of the kings greatness era. If peja leaves , he was the last "king" from the j-will era .He was drafted by the kings . Bibby came from the grizz and miller came from the pacers . AS LONG AS ONE OF THESE THREE IS HERE , I WILL BE A HARDCORE KINGS FAN !. But it would be hard for me to have the same passion for the kings w/o those three guys . BUT I WILL ALWAYS ROOT FOR THE KINGS !

This question is kinda of based to people who got on the bandwagon when the kings became the flashy team . But i understand the kings fans who live in sac and surrouding areas, of course you guys loved the teams since the 1985 season .

Kings fan since - 1998 season .
You dont even have to ask that to any REAL Kings fan. I was a fan when we had Randy Allen, Brooke Steppe, Johnny Rogers...and on and on.

I was a fan when these names were on the backs of the jerseys:

Johnson, Theus, Woodson, Thompson, Drew, Thorpe, Tyler, Oberding, Kleine, Henry, Bratz, Kelly, Adams, Cooke.

None of those names are on the roster now, although you do see LaSalle "Tank" Thompson on House Party Live occasionally.

So, why am I still a Kings fan?

Because it still says "Sacramento Kings" on the front.

If some of you who came here during the GOOD times decide you just don't have any interest left in the time, farewell. It was nice to have you here while you were here. (And I'm being serious and not sarcastic.) Being a fan is a very personal thing. If you can't see your way to be a Kings fan any longer, I truly hope you can find a team that does excite you because this game is just too good to walk away from entirely.

There is something quite endearing about a rock, solid fan of a losing team. However, i would rather appreciate it in someone other than myself. We had a few years of being fans of a winning team (I have confidence that we will again) until then, I will endure the looks I get when I say that I am an OBSESSIVE KING'S FAN - all the way, win or lose.

Yeah. I was openly lobbying for blowing up the team this summer. I suppose I could amend that to blowing up the team with the exception of Bonzi. No one else on this team seems to have any fire.

And I may even root for this team if it leaves Sacramento. The Las Vegas Kings? I might even be convinced to finally join my sisters in Sin City if that were the case. The Kansas City Kings? Well, then I guess its hello Warriors.

Getting into this one late but yes.....if Peja and Brad left I would probably be more of a Kings fan. Especially Peja.

I'd still be a fan, even if for no other reason that once I commit to something, I commit all the way.

However, if Bibby was traded, I'd officially have three teams to follow. There's something about him that I find endlessly amusing.

we don't need you anyways

just kidding:p

Kingsfan since 1987.

Ive been through the rough times, the good times, the rough times the really good times, now the rough times. Ill be here for the good times when they come in the near future.

I will be here. I am a Kings fan for life. Part of being a fan of a team is accepting that no matter how much I love these guys or any other players - they can't play forever (Kings or not) and so I enjoy them while they are here - root for them with all my heart and wish them well when they leave - whether that is to another team or another career. This question makes me think of Joe Montana and the 49ers - argh.... I think I won't go there.

Actually, as a 49er fan, I can deal with this team. Growing pains are tough, but hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
