If George Karl Fired...Who Takes Over?

Monarch

Prospect
Now assuming that George Karl gets canned (which I'm starting to see as a legitimate solution despite the backlash that we would receive), what coach should take over? Who's not only worthy to coach the Kings, but who will lead us to victory WHILE keeping stable relations with the roster and the front office?

I don't think he will, at least not immediately.

But when he does: Me.

Haven't wanted the job previously, but having watched this cluster**** long enough I have decided there is no other way.

Spike will be my lead assistant. He's the one over there with the beer in his hand checking out the dance team.

If we could get Thibs, then by all means it should be him.

I was thinking that as well. I've been discussing with my friends about that possible hiring but there's been worries about Tom running the team to the ground. I believe in his hard work ethic, it's just the matter of if we can keep up.

At the end of the day, if we at least HAVE a DMC to run to the ground I'll be happy. Not to mention he could implement a defensive-minded style to the team that a lot of us want.

Bozo the Clown will be our new HC. All assistants Karl just hired will be fired for the clowns Bozo will hire. Cousins will be traded by mid-season trade deadline because he's scared of clowns.

Exactly, WE DESPERATELY need to bring defense back, so Tom would definitely be one of the picks for me.

He wont get fired and if he does no reputable coach will come here. If they just fired a Hall of Fame coach 4 months into his 3 year deal, what prospects do they have in this toxic environment? Is what they will be thinking.

I wanted Thibodeau before he went to Chicago and won himself a Coach of the Year award so obviously I'd be thrilled if we got him now. I was hesitant about hiring George Karl at the All-Star break because it looked like Scott Brooks and Thibodeau were likely to be available in the off-season. Also because I thought Karl was going to jeopardize our high lotto pick, but obviously that didn't happen. In any case, if George Karl is trying to hijack the team, get him out. Hire Thibs, sign Rondo, and laugh all the way to the playoffs. All's well that ends well.

Personally I think Mark Jackson wouldn't mind coaching in a brand new arena, with a young upcoming team like the Kings with Cousins, Gay, and now WCS! Especially if it means he's coaching in the same division as the team that fell through his finger tips only a season ago. If the gossip about Karl is true and it comes down to Cousins or Karl, I'd fire Karl and go after #MARKJACKSON

Sacramento doesn't get the staff it wants; it gets the staff it needs. Vivek thinks 4 on 5 is revolutionary? Wait until he sees my 6 on 5 PowerPoint!

considering the Kings are exiling coaches for the last decade...why would anyone in their right mind want to come here? oh wait...I know! Vivek has big pockets so he will be willing to pay what it takes to land a coach looking to cash him out even if that coach doesn't belong.

The same reason Karl wanted to come here. It's one of only 30 jobs available at the highest level....and there's only a few openings every year. There's only so much picking and choosing that they can do

Karl wanted to come coach again so he can break the all time win record. It didn't really matter with what team he did it with....but in the process he happened to get an idea in his head that it was okay to trade a franchise big man.

I know Mark Jackson isn't popular, but he'd be amazing as a player coach. I realized that during the Warriors championship speech, they talked about god and referenced religion a lot. When Jackson was coach, I remember he connected all of them through his church. He flew them out and would have days where they would do religious activities and etc. It's just an interesting observation.

I think Jackson would be perfect for a player like Cousins. Plus, he likes to reference god a lot..

This is basketball and not everyone likes the religious approach necessarily... I am not sure how everyone on the team would feel about that nor is every individual cut from the same cloth, so to speak. Strictly for that reason, whether I was a coach or a personal trainer, I would avoid intentionally using religion as a motivator, as not everyone believes in the same thing. I also think Jackson lucked out with a good team to begin with and really doesn't know much in regards to x's and o's. I remember when we hired Malone, the Warriors were saying Malone came up with the plays and Jackson preached. Preaching is great and all, but you gotta be able to coach, and he can't. Thus why he was fired. Jackson is not the guy and I would be thoroughly disappointed with him as I view him as a significant downgrade in pretty much every way. Thibs for me, easy decision. Track record, defensive coach, no bull****. I like those qualities in my coach.
