This thread and the Arena deal go hand and hand. The 1st and last point that the sacramento city council made against the new arena was, "if you can't sell out arco......". This attendance issue means that we are further from a new arena than ever. Funding the arena is a entirely separate topic. Attendance is low, and it is because tickets aren't being exchanged for money in hand-to-hand transactions. If i were on the tickets selling team, i would suggest each member has 20 tickets in their pockets at all times, selling them at various casinos, restaurants, Mall kiosks, even on the street. Make a deal with the retail business and create a permanent source of ticket availability. People don't want to go online to buy tickets, they don't want to go to arco to buy tickets. They want the tickets brought to them, so they can smell them under their noses and make the impulse buy. I would tell the ticket people to specifically head to bars and casinos and talk to the manager about making an announcement that tickets can be had at fair or reduced prices. it would make 1000+bucks a day.
