i wouldn't be surprised if the kings select Porzingis in the draft

OK so here is my draft order list assuming that Towns, Okafor and Russell are all off the board.

1. WCS - BPA and fits huge need, no brainer. Will be impactful this year
2. Prozingas - If WCS is off the board, still seems like BPA and fills a need, although may not have impact this season.
3. Hezongia - BPA, best shooter, most upside, can probably play immediately although will struggle defensively, will allow us to move Ben/Nik or both at some point, hopefully for value.
4. Winslow - Offensively does not do what we need, defensively could be a stud for us. Would not hate if we got him.
5. Mudiay - Biggest boom/bust player in the draft IMO. Not enough info, workouts of dunks and dunks and dunks do not impress me. Seemed slow and methodical in shot. If we miss here, could be detrimental to franchise
6. Stanley Johnson - Most intriguing of these 6 players, could be a Harrison Barnes with Defense type player.
7. Payne - Love this kid, but 6 is too high. This is a trade down and get him + an asset pick.

So basically, we never draft 4-7 there.

I like your choices. But who are these Prozingas and Hezongia fellows? They sound Mexican to me. LOL

Pretty much, though I'd say he'll be a very poor man's Frye initially. After all Frye is a veteran who has carved out a long NBA career and Porzingis has to first prove he even belongs in the NBA.

But if he really is as dedicated to the game as the articles about him and his own comments would have us believe then yes, I think he could reach Frye's level after a year or two. What (if anything) he becomes beyond that is the real question.

What might we optimistically project Porzingis to look like after five years and how confident are we that he'll reach that projection. That's the crux of things.

Wow you guys! Frye can't even take 2 dribbles driving to the basket.
Frye has probably one of the slowest foot in the NBA and yet you still compare this 7'1" kid that can run like a SF to that guy and even call him a very poor man's Frye?. Wow!
A very poor man's Frye would be someone selling hotdogs in the arena, teams won't even bother working him out even if he goes to the arena every game.

The only thing that's common with him and Porz is that they can shoot from deep better than most bigs.
But other than that, Porz and Frye and totally different. Porz has very nice catch and shoot rhythm and Frye can't even do in his wild dreams.

Or maybe you are talking about Fry in Futurama? Well then that would be another story. LOL

As for the weight issues, remember we turned a lanky Hassan Whiteside into the hulking kid in 2 years.

Channing Frye is about to start his 10th season in the NBA. He also put up 12 and 6 as a rookie. That's slightly better than what Porzingis put up in ACB this season, albeit in a couple less minutes per game. I don't think Porzingis will put up 12 & 6 in the NBA next year. Not when he will have to get used to the speed and length of NBA players and the bigger stage. Now of course Porzingis has the potential to be a much better player. After all other than a couple down years in Portland Channing Frye has always put up about 12 and 6 as a soft, outside shooting big. But the fact remains that he's carved out a place in the NBA. Porzingis first needs to show that he belongs in the NBA before we start proclaiming him as being instantly better than 10 year vets.

On the plus side I think going by Kris helps his cache. And he's already got a Jerry Reynolds ready nickname in "The Zinger".
