I WAS in denial, now I'm sobering up from 6 years(not counting this year), but 6 years of joy, bliss and emotional highs, no matter how much we choked. Even though we didnt win it all, it still was probably the happiest periods of my life, seriously. I'm born and raised here, and going through 14 years of losing, then 6 years of winning and upswing...and now to go through the losing again...kinda like losing your first girlfriend, in a way...maybe even harder. The Kings are Sacramento...I dont need to say anything else, I dont think. I just hope we can band together as fans, and hopefully keep the faith, and have a team even here a few years from now. If not, my heart will have a part missing.VF21 said:I'm in denial. Just call me Cleopatra.

(I somehow think - You know that as well)

I'm with you, believe me, I'm with you. And much like yourself, I to can pretty much remember every little intricacy with this franchise since it came into existance here. I remember how happy I was even as a 10 year old watching the very first Kings game, against the LA Clippers, Halloween night 1985. I remember going to my first Kings game that year against the Blazers, we blew a 25 point lead and lost, but I didnt care. Man, 21 years later, and hopefully for 21 more years after this, as long as it's Sacramento...I will always bleed purple. Sorry, I'm waxing in memories too much again....I'll try to control myself.VF21 said:Circa - I think you missed the context.
and my response:
My denial is about agreeing with piksi that things are going to get worse before they get better.
Although the excitement, etc. of the GOOD YEARS (1999-2003) was wonderful, the happiest period of my life was when Gregg Lukenbill came on TV to announce that his group had purchased the Kansas City Kings and were actually truly honestly bringing them to Sacramento. That...and the first time I stepped into Old Arco.
Those were the happiest periods of my life, at least as far as being a sports fan are concerned. And while I think it's gonna be tough for a while, I'm not about to give up on this team. I can't. I bleed purple...
GO KINGS!!!!!

Yeah, and I know its embarrasing...but I have no problem admitting...that clip almost made me cry.WalMatt23 said:Man, i know this is redundant but I don't care. That clip was frickin' depressing. Will we have to wait another 20 years to be that good? And we didnt get a ring... ahhhHHHH!
NO!! NOT THAT!!love_them_kings said:me too! Loved the clip, but boy it left an empty feeling in my heart.
Seriously, though, whatever you think of Webb's ability, or of the trade... I miss the personality and charisma he brought to the team. Bobby too. It was so nice having players that would talk & inspire you. Players that believed so much that they made you believe...
Well, now that I'm caught up in what we had, and what we lost, I might as well go watch the CWebb tribute again....![]()

I'm right with ya, its hard enough just watching Sportscenter and seeing him on Philly. And now having to watch Bobby light it up and give the Grizz the same spark he gave us...damn, it freaking hurts.love_them_kings said:I know -- I actually couldn't do it. I thought maybe I was down enough that it couldn't get worse, but I just couldn't watch it right now. I just didn't want to end up a sobbing mess right before bedtime.

Nice!! Or...just for kicks...we should get a bunch of guys that have the letter 'B' in their names, and call them the Killer B's, like in Houston.*L* It would at least pass some time. We've already got: Bibby, Bonzi, Brad....VF21 said:Actually, Bibby, Bonzi, Corliss, Garnett and Skinner wouldn't hurt my feelings.
