Think of it this way.. We have flexability in the back court if we need to go big we can have reke 6'6, salmons 6'6, greene 6'10' cousins 6'11, dalembert 7'0

Thats great size and rebounding and defense.

And we have both jimmer & thorton who are great shooters & depending on who we are playing we can have both out there with evans or just 1.
And with cousins drawing a double team it can be evans slashing to the hoop with a great pass from cousins or a pass out to either jimmer or thorton.

Imo the kings have put there key players in reke & cousins in a great position to be successful because you have to respect the players who can shoot around them.
Jimmer & thorton can both get 20pts and that helps reke and cousins alot

I wouldn't say I love it but I think it was a decent trade. It's not a make you an instant contender type of trade but I think it will make the team slightly better, at least, and do so without effecting their cap space much at all. It also frees up the guard positions ensuring the bulk of PT goes to Evans, Thornton, and Jimmer. I'm really baffled as to why so many people think it's horrible move. I guess the Salmons hate is just that strong.

Yep. i wont lie i hated the trade initially but look as a kings fan im just greatful the teams in sac to start with let alone made the move to win now mode. Salmons as the weakest link isnt too bad if you ask me. Jim Jim Jimmer could very well be the long term partner for reke.

After all our guard speculation and moving reke to SG/SF who wouldnt be happy if we found his long term partner. Come on people live a little. Things aint too bad at all. Were gunning for the playoffs and WE HAVE NOT SACRIFICED YOUTH IN DOING SO.

If we resign Dalembert, we'll have 5 legitimate NBA starters on our team for the first time in a long while. That is a good feeling.

This is how I feel about it too. We had no bonafide NBA starting 3. Now we do. I do not think the ball will disappear in Salmons' hands like it did back in the day.

If the Kings had simply taken Jimmer at #7 would everyone like it better?

To me Salmons >>>> Beano. Don't forget Beano sucked two years ago... and he may well suck again... he's not that consistent. I'm ok being rid of him for a starting SF.

I like this trade more now than initially... I just hate to imagine myself yelling "John, Pass the ball!" Only to have him dribble it off of his foot.

I'm okay with Jimmer, but Salmons is garbage. We still need to upgrade the SF position. He is not a long term answer or even a good short term answer.

Thing I can't get over is that the Bobcats traded Stephen Jackson for Magette and move up from 19 to 9? Same number of years on the contract although Magette is slightly more. We take on more $$ and years in Salmons and move DOWN 3 spots? I just don't get this from a value perspective. We should have been able to drop Garcia on Charlotte or gotten at least a second rounder out of them. They totally won that trade from a value standpoint.

Me too. I wondered what moves Petrie would make. Now I know and I'm ready to move on to the next set of hurdles leading to seeing this group play basketball.
