And still probably is, possibly to a greater extent. Webb didn't move too well but he was definitely our best post defender.
One on one in the post maybe, but his help and recovery under the basket and up high was way too slow.(due to injury). That being said we did get outscored in the paint last night...

funny...there was nothing best about his defending, the guy did not defend at all

Agreed. And we still don't have anyone that gives post help well unless Miller blocks shots like he did last night...where did that come from?

I think the one thing we did get was some shotblocking presence in there with all the guys, even K9. When guys drive in and have to worry about them/alter their shots it makes it easier for Brad to get those weak side blocks, I even saw Cat get one! The Cool thing is we look faster, and thats something we don't get when Tag is in there.

Maybe Bibby, Cat, and Skinner inspired him with their recent block parties? :)

K9 can NOT, under any circumstances, block a shot. He's roughly as effective at that as Darius. Its called being short. And Corliss is even worse.

Skinner can. But he's got to be on the court in order to do it.

He's quick to get in front of his man or someone elses and it helps other guys get in position thats all. A hand in the face makes a guy pause/alter his shot, Our interior D maybe smaller but they are more athletic thats for sure. Maybe I shouldn't have said our shotblocking was better cuz it's not. It's just that I think we have more speed which will allow us to play better Team D, which is all this team can hope for.

maybe it's about time you "people" stop crying.....webber is gone...it's not Duncan for gods sake :-), it's only Webber, a medicre power forward in the NBA....just kidding...know you love Chris, but really, this is NBA professional basketball, and most of you are adults....and the worst of all, we (the kings) have a better team now...individual stats are lying, and webber was not as good as his stats were showing...but then again team stats should not be lying, it's a team game...and Kings win more games without Webber, it is a fact, and not myopinion...Bobby Jackson has nothing to do with that, kings do miss him of course (great 6th man)......kings can win or lose on any given night to any given team in the NBA, right...?...so, it really doesn't matter, what games he missed.....

Huh?

sasha is in fact the biggest webber hater on this board. he is in fact an idiot. facts show we aren't the same team without Bobby even this year. We are 17-7 with Bobby and 19-13 without him, so again we aren't the same team without Bobby. he is a peja lover and makes some of the dumbest comments i have ever read. don't respond to him.

Stats often reflect the truth that each individual seeks to extract from them. As has been stated many times before on these boards, what were the circumstances of those wins w/o Webber vs. the losses w/ him? Who else was injured when Webber came back last year? Who were we playing? Were teams playing with a little more urgency after the All-Star break vs. before. What were the records of the teams we played against this year without CWebb? And last of all, what is our record in the playoffs without Cwebb versus with him? Who was the most important player in both playoff series last year? If your answer starts with a C and ends with a hris Webber, you are correct.

Just getting a little tired of the "record" argument that some fans and the media are somewhat blindly latching onto...does it mean something? I'm sure it means that the Kings still have some great players w/o Webber. Is it as significant as some seem to think? I doubt it.

We seem to be able to win without anybody (except maybe Bobby) consistantly. I think that's more about our coaching staff then anything else.

why would you say that...?...calling me an idiot, cause I trash Webber....?.....don't respond to me..?....am I attacking anyone, did I offend someone...?

skeletor, dont you worry b/c a couple seconds from now they'll tell you that webber had a negative +/- in the playoffs last year. but in every year previous e/c game 7 in 2002, he has been our best performer by far. even in that series he averaged 24/11/5 @ 50% from the field.

your attacking webber. you have in your other posts, do you want me to bring them up. do you want me to quote you, your a useless hater.

Are you trying to be funny by just regurgitating Ailene Voisons' garbage columns? How can you say Bobby being out had nothing to do with it? Webber came back last season, Adelman gave him minutes to get ready for the playoffs. At the same time Bobby went down for the year and Miller also got hurt. Those are two major factors that so often get overlooked as people ignorantly blame Webber for the teams struggles. Not to even mention that the scedule got alot harder down the stretch last year. Another thing commonly left out is how much better Webber played in the playoffs than Peja.

dumbest comments...?....I will read your comments in a couple of months, and they will sound like this:

Geoff Petrie is a genius for getting rid of one legged Webber......

if mediocre is easily top 7 and arguably top 5 then so be it. yes i've gotten over the fact that we've given up webber but if your going to backslap him at every chance you get, i'm going to swing right back at you.

Yes, it does. It doesn't tell you the whole story, but if sample is big enough it shows the trend.
