I had this conversation with my mom recently and thought it would be fun to start a thread here about songs that you absolutely cannot stand. Especially the ones that are big hits chart-topping hits that everyone else seems to love. Here are mine:

"I Hope You Dance" by LeAnn Womack. So incredibly stupid, sappy, annoying, yuck.

Anything by Gloria Estafan. Her voice is so annoying sounding to me.

"We Built This City" by Jefferson Starship. It might of sounded really cool in 1985, but now it's just so corny and stupid sounding.

"I've Never Been To Me" artist unknown. Goofy, sappy, feminist song from the 70's.

"You Light Up My Life" Debbie Boone. Another 70's sappy song.

Anything by UB40. They make the worst remakes of great, classic songs.

Just about anything from Bon Jovi, with the exception of "Wanted: Dead or Alive", which I love.

"Shattered" by The Rolling Stones

"The Wind Beneath My Wings" Better Midler. Actually, I thnk I hate most of her pop hits.

"The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia" Vickie Lawrence.

Anything by Kenny G.

the song called "Listen to Your Heart"...I don't know who sings it, but it comes on the radio all the time. I can't stand that song.

Black Eyed Peas- "my humps" or whatever that awful song is.

The Black Eyed Peas have taken the term "sell out" to a completely new level which I never thought was possible.

There's a lot but 2 that come to mind immediately are
macarena and that Whitney song from The Bodyguard. If they come on I want to throw the radio out of the window.

For starters, I hated Milli Vanilli and NKOTB when they were out and all of my friends were HUGELY into them at the time. Slumber parties were hell for me.

"Lightning Crashes" by Live. In fact, anything by Live.

Anything by Smashing Pumpkins after a certain point -- the minute Billy Corgan shaved his head, they started on a downward spiral of suckitude.

Lordy, I'm suddenly flooded with tons of bad memories. Too many horrible songs to process.

Right now, however, my biggest pet peeve is the "I found love at the K-Mart store" jingle that I manage to hear at least 20 times every morning.

Aqua-Barbiegirl

Effiel 65-Blue

Backstreet Boys- Backstreet's Back Alright

Justin Timberlake-Cry Me A River

Los Lobos-The Macarena (a radio station was switching and for 24 hours they played this song non stop)

Any new annoying Gwen Stefani songs, especially the banana song.

Four Non Blondes-What's Going On

Spin Doctors-Two Princes

Technotronic-Pump Up the Jam

Crash Test Dummies-mmm mmm mmm mmm

Ace of Base-Don't Turn Around, I Saw the Sign, All That She Wants

Afroman-Cause I got High

Patrick Swayze-She's Like the Wind

Jennifer Warnes-Time of My Life

Barenaked Ladies-One Week

Shaggy-Angel...........actually, anything Shaggy has made is awful.

Blink 182-What's My Name Again

Jennifer Love Hewitt's attempt at a song

Ouch...one of my favorite bands...I agree their earlier stuff was better, but I have to respect them for not trying to stay the same over the years.

Love Gwen Stefani, but I hate "Holla Back Girl".

Most Hated by Decade

60's: "Sugar Sugar"......The Archies

70's "You Light Up My Life"...Debby Boone
honorable mention....Anything "Disco"

80's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me"....Culture Club (Tubiscus vomits at the memory!!)

90's Any Gangster Rap....(I say give them more ammo and let's be rid of them)

2000's "Here With Me"..............Dido (Oh my God What an ANNOYING PIECE of GARBAGE.......Debby Boone Redux!!!!)

Mmm Bop -- Hansen
Cherry Pie -- Warrant
Unskinny Bop -- Poison

Three of the stupidest "songs" ever written.

I'd say leave the ignorant comments out of this thread.

Boy George-The Crying Game

Which ignorant comment? "Gangstas" belong behind bars. Got nothing to do with rap. Its whether you choose to be a criminal or not.

The Sign -- Ace of Base

^ ditto to Bobby and pretty much anything by Mariah Carey especially the one out right now. Can they play it any more than at 5 minute intervals? Geez.

We Built This City -Starship

Achy Breaky Heart -Billy Ray Cyrus

Everybody Have Fun Tonight -Wang Chung

Rollin' -Limpbizkit

The Heart of Rock & Roll -Huey Lewis & The News

Party All the Time -Eddie Murphy

American Life -Madonna

Ebony and Ivory -Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder

IMO, The Heart of Rock-n-Roll Effing Rules!!!

Bad tunes:

80's-Puttin' On The Ritz-Taco
Goody Two Shoes-Adam Ant
Friend Or Foe-Adam Ant
Desparate But Not Serious-Adam Ant
Strip-Adam Ant
Viva LeRock-Adam Ant (You see where I'm going with this)
Anything by Wang Chung
Anything by Warrant, Y&T, Kix or any other crap, hair, makeup, spandex wearing wussies passing themselves off as heavy metal with bad pop tunes.
Wham Rap-Wham
90's-I'm Too Sexy-Right Said Fred
Beautiful People-Marilyn Manson

Eh, I could go on and on, but my main point here was to rip Adam Ant.

P.S. He can't act either.
