15. Sacramento Kings

With Artest in town, one thing's for sure: No one's calling them Queens anymore. Sacramento has an enforcer now. Famous tough guy from Queensbridge, as it happens.

Yet even with Artest and the unquestionable boost he has given the Kings defensively after years of softness, it's still a stretch to call them the Team No One Wants To See in the first round. It's tough to bill the Kings that way when they couldn't finisher higher than No. 8 in the West, condemning them to a first-round matchup with mighty San Antonio.
Artest will play his linebacker brand of defense against Manu Ginobili, say outrageous things about Tony Parker's girlfriend and how much better his D is than Bruce Bowen's and force us to pay an abnormal amount of attention to a 1 vs. 8 matchup just because he'll be there.
But let's face it. The Kings can't win more than two games against the Spurs.
Two is pushing it, actually. Impressive as it was to see Artest guarantee a playoff berth upon arrival in Sacto and spark a 27-14 turnaround in which the opposition reached 100 points just nine times in the 40 games he played, Artest's new team doesn't have the depth or the front-line quality to seriously trouble the reigning champs.

We might not win the series, but being 15th is absurd!

...

Dude, it's Marc Stein. I'm surprised he didn't find a way to rank us 17th. It's certainly not worth a  emoticon over.

15 out of 16 playoffs teams? That's messed up. Record wise, Kings are better than half the east (and tied w/Denver). Look at how teams played going into the playoffs, Sacs play looks even better. But it doesn't matter. Kings have to prove themselves starting saturday, and that's the only thing that matters right now.

NOBODY afiliated with ESPN has given us a chance in the playoffs...steven a. smith said artest is crazy for thinking we have a punchers chance vs san antonio and that artest is basically alone in saying we could advance...i wonder, how exactly does steven a know this? did he go around doing major psycho-analysis on each player and determine this? i, personally, think he's full of s***...

He also said the Artest trade wouldn't work for us when it went down. And how it was too late to make the playoffs. Dude is an idiot, who I swear, has never watched basketball.

I used to get pi**ed at BSPN. Now I ignore them mostly. They are totally east coast biased in the first place. The only Western team they really ever spend time on is the Lakers.

I can't think of her name, but she was in broadcasting in Sac and got hired by ESPN. Even when the Kings were really hot, she says she couldn't get anybody at ESPN to pay any attention. She said they were just completely east coast biased.

Mark Stein is a moron that's always wrong. I hate most of the people at BSPN except for Bill Walton, atleast he's so stupid it's funny.

In this instance, I would have to agree with Stein. We lack a formidable frontline and depth. Two things that will kill us in the end. The Spurs are a seasoned championship team, We have to bring our A+ game thoughout the series or we will be gone in 60 seconds. One of many things that we do have in our favor is we as a team are relatively new to the Spurs, and there is always that element of surprise.

That being said..... I can't stand Marc Stein.

A soon as I saw the title of this thread I said what BS did he come up with now about the Kings. The more people who hate on us, the more people we can prove wrong.:D
