I am thankful for...

Homer Fan Since 1985
...my wonderful family; the great friends I have here at KingsFans.com and in my life; my return to Sacramento which is my heart's home; the Monarchs' WNBA Championship (and the fact that I got to be present); and, for all the other blessings that God has showered on me.

I am thankful for my family and my closest friends and the Sacramento Kings and their fans. I'm not thankful for my ex girlfriend... :)

I will be thankful for Bonzi, Bibby, Brad, SAR and Peja if they can at least get us to the playoffs :)

Most of all I am thankful for my soon to be a one month old baby girl!!!

I am thankful for Peanut M+Ms. :D

(I still find it almost inconceivable that western civilization somehow managed to develop for thousands of years before the discovery of chocolate.)

I am not thankful that Dairy Queen usually leads fast food restaurants in health code dings every year. ;)

But the blizzards are really really good. Who cares if it leads to death atleast I will die a happy man with my blizzard in hand.:D

I am thankful for:

Family and friends, including my two darling grand-daughters
Being able to live in some of the most beautiful country in the world
Having a job that I truly love and a wonderful, marvelous boss
A community of friends here at Kingsfans.com that is special and unqiue

I am thankful TO my parents, for giving me a sense of values that has carried forth to this day. Although my dad has been gone for 20 years, I still recall some of the lessons he taught me - and I'm grateful to him.

I am thankful that God has a plan for my life even if I don't know what it is, for my parents, my children, a man who loves me and loves to cook, the rest of my family, my friends here and everywhere else, friends I haven't met yet, that we all survived the accident, that I have a house of my own, that I don't have to cook thanksgiving dinner, that I have a job, that I get to go to the game on Dec 22 (3rd this year-wow!), that I get to leave early today, for chocolate, for being alive.

Since this is the Thanksgiving day thread so I'll put my traditions in here:

Since my parents divorced, my grandfather past, and my cousin moved away; Thanks Giving isn't as big as a deal anymore. It's about family be thankful for that.

My Thanks Givings have been like this lately. We usually eat Thanks Giving lunch instead of big dinners. I wake up at around 12:30 PM because I'm a lazy college kid. Then my grandma and great aunt come over and I have to help my mom quickly clean the house. Then I wake my sister up who is a lazy high school kid. I'm usually trying to get cleaned up myself and a few years ago they started without me. This year wasn't any different (lol). Then I head over to my dad's and bring him half the turkey with side dishes and spend time with him. I usally eat more at dinner because lunch doesn't get me full, it's like Chinese food in a way.

Probably not the traditional "we all meet up at gradma's house type Thanks Givings," that I used to have but I like being different that way.

I am thankful for the food I got to eat this evening. I was in charge of the mashed potatos and the ravioli this year, both of which were especially delicious.

I'd like to add:

I am thankful for Amazon.com, because I was able to find some DVDs for the Little Princess for Christmas and won't have to worry about going all the way to town.

I am thankful to Jeremy, for providing this site for all of us.

I am thankful to all of you, for making Kingsfans.com so much more than just another message board.

I am thankful to Joe Benvenuti, Frank and Gregg Lukenbill, Bob Cook, Frank McCormick and Steve Cippa for buying the Kings franchise and bringing it to Sacramento.

And, finally...

I am thankful to God that I had another wonderful Thanksgiving, this time with community members since I couldn't make it home to be with my family. We took a moment to say a prayer for all those young men and women who are overseas ... and three couples in our group read messages they had received from their sons. And then we spent the entire afternoon, remembering those whom we had lost since the last gathering and honoring their memories with fond tales. It was a good day here in the forest...

I am thankful that I dont have to sit at the little kids table anymore.

I am thankful that I got I got to watch the drunks down the street make fools of themselves. Was pure comedy.

I am thankful that I now have lots of turkey sandwiches to eat.

And finally, I am thankfully nobody has croaked yet from the food I made.
