how many KF.com members listen to KHTK?

Big Cuz 15

All-Star
how many of you listen to the station? what time slot do you listen in on? and.. who's your favorite host?

i listen when i get a chance. i liked grant alot back then but he doesn't really let the callers speak their mind. the carmichael dave show is pretty good but i can't stand listening to him gush about MMA....... it pushes me to change the station.

I listen to the rise guys the most often since thats when I can. I can only handle Grant and Mike in small quantities. Koz is probably my favorite personality but like most people I'm generally busy during his time slot. He does have a tendancy to get on random or useless(IMO) topics though.

THe guys have it on at work, usually in the afternoon. I only hear it when I'm in the other room...Grant's just a joke anyway. Years ago I was hung up on by Grant and Koz.

I listen in the afternoons when I'm in my car. Love Grant by himself...He isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I know he ruffles some feathers, but that's what I love about his show. I listen to Koz sometimes, but he can pretty goofy at times.

about half the time I'm in the car I listen to KHTK, I don't get anything out of the FM music stations these days.

Rise guys in the morning, I'm really glad they added kreidler, he gives them some credibility, and they don't fight all the time anymore like they did with FP Santangelo

I used to avoid the Don and Mike show and pretended the radio didn't exist from 12-3, but now I try to listen to Koz when I can, purposely going from CD to the radio if its the right time.

I'll usually go CDs during grant/mike, I don't get anything out of their show(s), its all hype and no substance for me.

I think oddly, my favorite show on there is Carmichael Dave, who almost never talks any sports that isn't MMA, it especially good when Shawn Cunningham was on there too, but oh well. Just kinda funny and irreverent and really off-beat.

My dad used to pick me up every other weekend and thats all he would listen to so i grew up listening to it. I love grant and koz but cant stand carmichael dave. Plus i dont got a t.v. so thats my only way to get the kings game live

I listen to KHTK usually only when I'm driving around town. Probably tune to ESPN radio as much, although I detest constant hype and hysterics on both stations that makes it seem programing is more about whoever is hosting than actual sports talk.

Koz is pleasant to listen to but when he gets off on some mundane subject like what sandwich he just downed it all drifts into utter nonsense. The horribly rude, arrogant, be-all-end-all NY sports homer Grant Napear can be informative but only if you agree with him. Mike Lamb is at least sensible and considerate to the local audience. Rise Guys better than ridiculous buffoon's Don and Mike who I could never stand for a nano second. Now in his mid-30's, Carmichael Dave needs to grow up, quit acting like a snot nose 17-year-old, go on a diet before it's too late, drop obsession with mostly teenage MMA fad, and get much more serious about major sports. I'd rather hear about Sac State athletics than constant MMA.

I guess it says to me that Sac sports radio is mostly an immature, noisy waste-land that constantly insults ones intelligence - but then again maybe it's only reflecting a local demographic.

First off, even though I rarely listen to Koz, it's light years ahead of that stupid don and mike show. I never understood how it lasted so long on a sports radio station.

I listen to the Rise Guys durring the morning commute. I always like Kriedler's insight on things and I'm glad he's back in Sacramento.

I never listen to Rome. His take sucks.

I like Koz when he's not going off the wall on boring subjects not related to sports ( which is all too often).

Carmichael Dave trys to hard to be cool and it just comes off wierd in my opinion. He reminds me of a Rome Wannabe, I don't listen to him much.

I like to listen to Grant daily because he's the closest insight we have to the Kings. He has lot's of players, coaches, and other sports personalities on air to share their views on the NBA and the Kings. Lamb has good football takes but other than that, I don't care too much for him.

I don't listen to much anymore. I try to catch Koz at work during my lunch hour. I got tired of the Rise Guys. Grant and Mike would be okay without Grant. I don't like the rude New York persona, and I hate that he has to be so insulting to anyone who disagrees with him. I'll go without noise of any kind rather than listen to Grant. Carmichael Dave is boring. I'm not interested in MMA and the rest of his chatter is childish.

So, travel time is now FM music. If it wasn't for Koz, I'd never turn on KHTK anymore.

Same as Rug King.

I like the Rise Guys and listen on my way to work (and sometimes at work). Rome gets annoying and covers a lot of stuff that frankly I am not interested in.

I like Koz, but really don't listen to him much.

I like to listen to Grant daily because he's the closest insight we have to the Kings. He has lot's of players, coaches, and other sports personalities on air to share their views on the NBA and the Kings.

I will echo this statement. Grant can be very strange at times, as there are times he can disagree with folks and be very civil, and there are times when even when he agrees with you he's rude. And there are times when the caller makes perfect sense but Grant goes off on him/her anyways. Just don't quite follow what he's doing there sometimes. I find it funny that sometimes we have more info here at Kingsfans.com than he does when he does his show. ;) I like Mike for the most part. Seems fairly easy-going and friendly.

I listen to the Rise Guys and Koz, then Grant and Mike. Sometimes I listen to Dave. The Rise Guys are funny at times. Grant makes me laugh the way he will go off on someone but he can also be annoying. Mike is more even keel but I hate how he gives into Grant when Grant doesn't agree with him. I love it when Mike stands up for his point of view, which is rare. Koz is cool, I am glad he was hired back. Dave doesn't talk as much sports unless you are into the UFC which I am. I mean I watch the fights just not into it enough to listen to his show. I do like how Dave is a huge Kings fan from way back in 1985 like I am, so I can appreciate that.

I listen to Grant and Mike's show pretty much. The only thing that really bores me is when they talk about golf, hockey, Raiders and NY Giants football.

I like hearing about the Kings, 49ers and SF Giants.

Grant doesn't bother me. I find him pretty entertaining. Lamb has gotten better as he seems more opinionated instead of a "yes man" to Grant.

I listen to Koz when I can.

I listen to Grant & Mike until Grant starts gushing about HIS New York teams. That means I usually turn him off after about 3 minutes.:p

I listen to the rise guys, as they are amusing and sometimes informative. I hate Koz's show. He is way too sacharin for my tastes and his sports talk is pretty banal. Grant and Lamb I can only do in short doses but at least they talk about sports in more intellegent format. C.D. I rarely listen to as I'm never near a radio when he is on and I care nothing for UFC or MMA. I do like listening to the games on the radio much more than the television broadcasts, mostly because Jerry Renolds is such a goober with his color commentry.

I mostly listen to games.

Other than that, I'll listen to Koz, or to Carmichael Dave if he's actually talking about basketball. I'll listen to anyone interview players, coaching or FO staff. Rise Guys were okay last time I heard that show, but I never seem to get around to them anymore. I'd much rather listen to static than to Jim Rome or Grant Napear.

Rise guys are not for serious sports talk. I personally like sports talk, so i skip them on the way to work and listen to ESPN radio.

Like Grant's show. he knows his stuff, has inside info on the Kings based upon his position, and he is a realist. he pisses people off because he has a low tolerance for stupidity.

Probably 60% or more of the callers dont know jack and imagine having to put up with call after call of stupid. Id hang up on them as well.

Grant is the best thing on KHTK and that is where I normally listen.

KOZs show sucks for me. Just one big show of a grown man kissing so much a.. ALL THE TIME. Koz needs to grow a pair and take a stance.

Just not for me.

I used to listen a lot.

Quit Grant's show along time ago, can't stand Mike Lamb.Quit Rise guys show a while back too, but caught them recently when I didn't have a choice of the raido station and thought they were better with Kriedler. Used to listen for Koz's show and during the Kings talk time slot but haven't in a while

Now, I just listen to the Kings games.

I will admit to liking Grant and Mike. Actually I liked the show better without Mike. But I can live with him. I listen to the Rise Guys more now that they have Kriedler on with them. I like sports talk shows that talk about sports. Silly of me huh? Thats why I never liked Koz. To me he was trying to do an immation of Don and Mike. He talked about nonsense most of the time. If I want nonsense I can go to the local cantina down here. Carmichael Dave is OK. I don't listen that much because I usually have better things to do in the evening. Sorry Dave....

Grant is probably a polarizing personality. You either love him or hate him. As I stated, having grown up back east I'm used to that type of broadcaster. Strangely enough, I'm not that big a fan of Jim Rome. A little too much ego there for me. But he is a talented interviewer and has good guests.

As an aside. I once dated a woman that was an intern at KHTK. She will remain nameless. But she once told me that Grant is a fanatic about being totally prepared, and has no patience for those that aren't. As a result he probably rubs some of the others there the wrong way. She also told me that when Grant went on a two week vacation once and Koz filled in for him, he didn't like some of the things that Koz did on what he considered his show. She actually told me more than that, but it will remain unsaid..

I listen to the Rise Guys more now that they have Kreidler. Seems like they talk sports more. They still get too far off the beaten path sometimes for me though.

I have tried to give Koz a try in the afternoon, but always end up frustrated cause he so rarely bothers to actually talk about sports. And when he does, he seems determined to drive a single theme (usually one I don't care about) into the ground. I can think of at least twice that I have gotten 90 minutes into his show with the updates being the only mention of sports.

I like Grant's show, and Mike Lamb is ok. Unfortuneately, since I have moved to Merced I have a much harder time getting their show to come in, so I haven't been able to listen as much lately.
