How about this:

Beno, Salmons, Miller

for

Jason Kidd (expiring) + some youth (Green + Bass?) and a pick or two?

Seems like a talent dump for the Kings, but frees up a lot of cap space for the offseason, gets some more young talent, and gets more picks.
 
Yeah, too big a talent dump for the return on those picks, which would be pretty late. Not that I miind us dumping those "talents", just that I continue to hold out hope that we can get a better package by moving them individually.
 
granted we are losing every game that we play right now anyways.... it wouldnt change the outcome of any future games since we cant win now as it is..... i would do it because it would get rid of beno and his horrible contract...... kidd could help build the confidence of some of our younger players. playing with a real pg will help them mature into better players. they'll learn where their spots on the floor are. then we can draft rubio and have a real pg.

Rubio is eligible to enter the draft. He has a buyout in his contract that is believed to be a little short of $8M, so some people speculate that he will not enter and Rubio's camp has suggested that he is leaning towards staying put for now.

However, I went through the numbers and if we assume he's a top-3 pick and can sign a max extension contract after his rookie contract, then he's way better off in the long run to come out now. Hitting that max money earlier makes a big difference.
 
I don't think the Mavs can trade this year's draft pick. They gave up their 2008 and 2010 to the Nets in the J-Kidd trade...so it would be a definate no for the Kings.
