How about getting Kaman?

The "caveman's" name has been in trade rumors lately. How about about giving a call to Mike D. For a Kaman and Collins for Salmons and Udrih.

Salmons will give them a veteran SG (with better D than the rookie Gordon). And Dunleavy has been high on Udrih before we signed him. So maybe he knows a way to involve Udrih in their plans which really is not working on us now.

Kaman will boost up our frontline in a very good way. Collins is just a filler who maybe able to play PG or backup PG. Actually the trade still works even if Collins is not involved. So Kaman for Salmons and Udrih is our main card here.
 
I'd be down for getting Caveman. Hawes/Thompson/Caveman would be a sick frontcourt for now and the future. They prolly wouldn't do it just for Salmons and they would prolly want one of our young bigs back but, I'd toss in Garcia and a pick to spice up the deal if need be.

If trading our young big would make it happen would you still do it?

I'd give Thompson since Spence is younger and more polished offensively than JT.

1) Jason Hart isn't coming back here, no way. Too much bad blood.

2) can't trade Beno wihtout getting a PG in return. Even a rebuild needs better options than an old injury prone combo guard and an erratic rookie playgrounder.

3) take Caveman in a second if we could actually get him.
 
I like Kaman, but I refuse to give up a young big for him... I don't mind giving up Udrih at all, even with the 'erratic rookie' and old man, we could still swing Cisco into a PG roll if needed for the remainder of season or maybe finish off our trading with a package of Miller to bring an expiring PG in

Yeah, no way we give up Thompson for Kaman....thats just asking Thompson to turn into Karl Malone and dominate the game in our face. Bigs are going to take 2-3 years before they really show what they can do, usually. We have be patient.

often when a Kings fan is watching Kaman play it against the Kings, and what ends up happening is that Brad Miller is dominated and humiliated - so Kaman ends up looking like a mega-beast, when he is really just "good".

But Brad always makes Kaman look like Dwight Howard.

Now if the Clips could be talked into moving Camby to make room for Kaman I'd get excited - a healthy Marcus Camby is a true beast.

Well, just because he's been in trade rumors doesn't mean they're really looking to trade him. Even if they were, why would they trade a good young big for Udrih and Salmons?

seriously though, We cant get kaman if we dont lose a big .. miller, thompson, hawes and kaman are 4 players who should be starting somewhere ..

Thompson hasn't proven he's a legitimate starter yet. Hawes either really. They've shown flashes, and Hawes is having a good season, but when they start they haven't produced on a consistent basis.

That being said, I wouldn't trade either for Kaman. I really like him, but I'd rather keep Thompson and Hawes. But if I had to trade one of them, I'd probably trade Hawes because Hawes is more of a C than a PF, and Kaman is certainly a C.

You lost me at "Jason Hart"...
 
We are a team that can't rebound, can't post, and can't defend the rim. We are talkign abot a 26yr old center (i.e. less than a year older than Kevin) who averaged 15.7pts 12.7rebs and 2.8blks a game last year, so yes I would take him in an instant.
 
He's out until after the all star break. No deal will happen till he gets back. Then will only have a week or so before the deadline.

I'm pretty sure there are ways around that. I remember Terrell Brandon getting traded while he was injured. Actually, I don't even think he played another game after the trade

There is no rule against it -- just a question of the receiving team waiving the medical exam to which they are entitled. As long as everybody knows what the injury is, and its relatively simple and straight forward the only reaosn not to trade for an injured guy would be whatever feelings of distaste you might have at paying a guy to sit on the sidelines while he healed.
