How about Francisco and Corliss for...

Prospect
We get a shot blocking small forward and a back-up point guard. Portland gets an expiring contract and a nice young prospect.

Successful ScenarioDue to Sacramento and Portland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Portland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Instead of blasting Miles...

We don't need Miles, and needs to improve his attitude and shot. In general. I'd hope and think he uses this summer to do that.

I like his athleticism, length, and some versatility though.

That is what a lot of people said about Ron Artest!

Oh, yeah. Darius Miles and Ron Artest are so similar.

Ron Artest is a very talented player. Darius Miles is a headcase with a plethora of negatives ...

Why would we give up Francisco, who has a lot of potential, to get ANOTHER small forward? Hello? We don't need any more small forwards.

You posted your scenario, expecting responses. Well, you got mine. NO WAY.

Have a nice day.

You're not getting another small forward you're exchanging small forwads. Plus, Darius is long enough to play the 4 too. He can guard the likes of Kevin Garnet and Dirk. Plus he gives us something we don't have now, someone who can block shots. The Kings also get a back-up point guard which they badly need.

You have a nice day too! (Just having fun discussing scenarios, nothing personal.)

Garcia can block shots and neither are an inside prescence.

Douby I'd say has a good chance to be the back-up PG. But, in general, that is still up in the air who the back-up PG will be.

I vote no as well. Miles just ain't my cup-o-tea. Mot worth losing Garcia over, that's for sure.

Garcia blocked more shots per minute than Miles did last year. Darius is no 4 either. He's long, athletic and gifted, but you could make the case that he has actually regressed since his rookie year. He is a dog and a coach-killer.

That said, I don't mind Steve Blake as a back-up point.

D-Miles? No thanks...

While we have taken problem players in the past, Ron and Bonzi for example, there have never been questions about their effort. At least I haven't heard of any. D-Miles on the ohter hand is known for loafing it. He actually changed out of his jersey at halftime of a game. Unbelievable...

I'd rather have Garcia than D-Miles if salaries weren't an issue. Throw in the fact that Garcia makes $1 Million a year and D-Miles makes $8 Million and this is a no-brainer for me....

darius miles is a bum, steve blake is good but we have price, douby, hart. thats three backup point guards and francisco can play the point as well why would u want to add to 3 backups we already have and darius miles. im gonna pass

Well, some exaggerations here. Miles has actually put up respectable numbers the last couple of years in Portland. But its kind of like his old teammate Kandi -- just clueless. Never has gotten one ounce better. The attitude is crappy as ever. And in general just too big of a knucklehead to ever be part of a winning franchise I think. Basically a loser with a fat pocketbook. And when he begins to lose his athleticism in a few years there will be absolutely nothing left because he never could be bothered to develop a game.

I can never just read a trade suggestion when it has all those little pictures -- I have the irrepressible urge to make it into a little story.

I don't know why everyone is so quick to give up Garcia. I think this guy has some real talent and he will be a force in the league in a few years to come. And definately not for Darius Miles.

ugh, no thanks. hes overrated. the head banging after every shot would drive me crazy. makes me shudder to think we'd have some player that has a habit of doing annoying crap like raise their arm after every move.

A force? Maybe not. But he has a chance to be a good roleplayer. Just likely a minutes crunch.

After a year you can't say he is going to spend his NBA career being a role player. He has a chance to be much more than a roleplayer.
But a good roleplayer is nice. I just think roleplayer, and think blah.. But every team needs them.

There are only two instances where I'd trade for a guy like Miles: 1. When you’re desperate to make a change. 2. When your team has enough structure that you can absorb him in and let him linger in the background.

We're in between those two at the moment, so no to Miles. To Travis Outlaw, I would say yes. His game has been compared to Miles but without all the baggage.
