Marbury's contract expires after next season and a few GMs say it's possible that a team might be willing to pawn off a bad long-term contract (like the Nuggets' Nene or Kenyon Martin for example) in return for Marbury.


I was thinking if the Kings were in the mix with a deal like this..

Kings Offer
Artest - KT - SAR

Knicks Trade
Marbury - Lee - and possible draft picks

We would have to choke down Marbury's 22 mil for one year, but it sure opens up our roster for rebuilding.

We have been trying to get David for a year, i doubt it happens. plus i dont see maloofs buying marbury out. i would rather have artest crazy a** around the youth than Starbury!

I agree, but Isiah Thomas is not the brightest bulb in the closet. Maybe the incentive of getting Artest and rid of Marbury might just be too much.

Marbury is out for the year and next year will be a contract year.. maybe he will shape up.. if not he can take KT's spot on the bench..or the inactive list.
The reason for taking him is to clean up the roster for the new kids...
