Hey Vlade! This is How You Rebuild After DMC...

All-Star
TRADE #1
CLE Gets:
Ty Lawson & Ben McLemore
SAC Gets: Cedi Osman & Jordan McRae
Why? Cavs get a good backup PG to round out the rotation and another shooter. Kings get a good SF prospect in Osman.

TRADE #2
UTA Gets:
Langston Galloway
SAC Gets: Raul Neto & UTA '18 1st Round Pick (Top 20 Protected)
Why? Jazz get another shooter/defender to help at PG/SG for their playoff run this year. Kings get a future 1st for a player who plays the same position as many of our prospect SGs.

TRADE #3
IND Gets:
Tyreke Evans
SAC Gets: Monta Ellis & IND '18 1st Round Pick (Top 20 Protected)
Why? Pacers get out of Ellis' contract while still getting a player that can help them in the playoffs this year. Kings get a future 1st for a player who won't be here long term.

TRADE #4
NOP Gets:
Arron Afflalo
SAC Gets: Solomon Hill & NOP '19 1st (Top 10 Protected)
Why? Pelicans get out of Hill's long term contract to help them build around AD/Cuz in FA. Kings get a future 1st & a player who might have a chance to become a 3&D player for a player who won't be here long term.

TRADE #5
LAC Gets:
Darren Collison & Rudy Gay
SAC Gets: Austin Rivers, Paul Pierce, Brice Johnson, LAC '19 2nd Round Pick, & LAC '20 2nd Round Pick
Why? Collison for Rivers/Pierce/Johnson this year would probably make them a more competitive team in the playoffs, but adding Gay allows them to have his bird rights and sign him as their SF next to Paul, Reddick, Griffin, & Jordan (if they can retain all of their FAs). Kings get Johnson who was a late 1st this year and a couple of 2nd round picks for a couple of players who could end up leaving after this year.

TRADE #6 (Draft Day Deal)
LAL Gets:
Kosta Koufos
SAC Gets: Timofey Mozgov, HOU '17 1st Round Pick, LAL '18 Pick Swap Option, & LAL '20 Pick Swap Option
Why? Lakers cut salary to give them more cap space to work with in FA & pick up a batter C at a more affordable price. Kings get a 1st and multiple pick swap options for taking on some long term salary during a time when the Kings won't be active players in FA.

Team to Finish 2016-17 Season:

I think your asking price is a bit too high compared to the market.

Galloway will not fetch a 1st rounder, even top 20 protected. He's not a good player. Dante Exum offers the same capabilities.

Pacers aren't desperate to get rid of Monta Ellis, especially if it means they have to give up their draft pick. They could easily use that draft pick to get Wilson Chandler(reported that all Denver wants is a 1st rounder).

Don't see Pelicans giving up a 1st rounder to clear Hill's horrific contract.

There's no way the Lakers give up any assets to clear Mozgov's salaary.

You have to remember, these teams aren't Vlade. They're not going to make a Nik Stauskas trade. Whens the last time a team actually gave up a 1st to clear a player's salary?

edit: to add, I don't think the teams you named would be willing to clear salary for a 1st round pick. However, I think a team like Portland would easily do something like this. They'll have 3 1st rounders this year, and I think they're somewhere near the Luxury Tax. That forced them to trade Plumlee this year. If anything, maybe Portland gives us a late 1st rounder for Evan Turner or something.

It's not fair to say Galloway is a bad player. I'd say he's a solid bench player who could be a 7th/8th man. I'd agree that the asking price is probably a bit too high on this one. I'd be willing to settle on an early 2nd for him to be honest.

Galloway & Exum don't offer the same capabilities.

His fit isn't good with their core, he's been abysmal, and is still under contract for ~$12 mil for the next 1-2 years. The 1st might be a bit high, but let's not pretend like the Pacers are wanting to see Ellis on this team next year.

Don't see Pelicans giving up a 1st rounder to clear Hill's horrific contract.

I could see it. They have Cousins & Davis now. They're going to want to capitalize on that pairing to give Cousins a reason to resign. I could actually see us doing a Hill/Asik/Moore/Picks for Afflalo/Tolliver deal in the offseason. That'd give them ~$31 mil in cap considering Holiday's cap hold. They could do a lot of damage with that team if they were to sign a guy like Hayward with that extra cap space. Holiday/Hayward/Davis/Cousins would be pretty formidable.

There's no way the Lakers give up any assets to clear Mozgov's salaary.
I don't agree.

Trades 2 - 6 are way over the top for the Kings. These teams aren't going to give up all those picks for our junk and league average players.

Welp we can essentially close this thread. Good job, Vlade...
I'm fully convinced that our FO is full of idiots. Wtf? Are we not rebuilding? Are we seriously still trying for 8th seed? Wtf is our goal? Wtf is Vlade's plan? He's starting to engrave his name as WORST GM of all time.

Yeah, it's pretty darn frustrating. I'm not sure he has much of a vision at this point. The lack of vision, thoughtfulness, & common sense gives off a similar vibe to when the Maloofs were hamstringing Petrie. Hard to tell whether it's Vlade, Vivek, or both, but it really doesn't matter at this point. We're in a bad situation either way.
