[Game] HERE WE STAY Game Thread 2/28/11

I have never been to Arco, and I hope there will be a new arena by the time I get to see the Kings live in Sacramento, but I hope everyone has a great time. I'll be watching from the east coast. I hope League Pass gives me Grant and Jerry tonight.

I'm damn proud to say that that first clip with the Bibby shot made me tear up. That is the first time I have re-watched the entire sequence in a long time. I remember watching that game with 6 or 7 buddies during my junior year in high school and feeling such a friggin RUSH when he hit that shot. We were going NUTS. I remember three of us started doing laps in the street...screaming nonsense..just elated. Words don't do justice to how I felt.

I was fortunate to get to experience the "Kings glory years." I don't care if people keep saying."that was ten years ago, get over it...blah blah.." we were champions that year. That team was something special. Almost a decade later I still get chills when I think about that team and that series.

Sigh....we can't let the Kings leave town. This is about more than a team...this is about memories. However corny it may sound, a lot of my friendships, family trips, parties, etc were built through the Kings/Arco Arena.

I live in Boston and tried desperately to get today and tomorrow off but couldn't. Make us proud guys. If we are going out, we are going out in style. Show 'Reke, DMC, and the rest of the boys what that arena and Kings fans can REALLY do.

I dunno if anyone here has a smart phone, is at the game, and is willing to post some video of the introduction, cheering, etc, but I would surely appreciate it. All the way from Boston, I wanna be involved in the experience!

I'm pretty sure we'll see some video on the web once people get home :)

probably not the savviest of marketing moves using the retro non sacramento jerseys for this game by the Kings franchise, would have been cool for them to break out the old powder blues from the first few Sacramento years.

The jerseys were planned waaay before the current sell-out movement - or else, I'm with you, the powder blues would have been a nice touch.
