Help!

Didn't know where to put this, so I thought I'd just stick it here.
I'm writing a paper on the contracts/salaries of major athletes and I was just wondering if anybody knew where I could find any information on the history of major contracts. Like who were the first athletes (in any of the major sports leagues) who first got the outrageous contracts or anything like that.

And any help on any other sort of info that may be useful. The paper is basically about player contracts, but I also have to work in the player production, behavioral problems, the public image of players and whether or not they consider themselves role models.

This is kind of a random collection, and only on baseball, but if you sort through it you can find some nifty numbers (Babe Ruth's first annual salary as a rookie was $1900).
