For those interested in more information, here's the email I received from my friend:
The Sacramento Heatwave began in 2003 as the Fresno Heat, founded by
Albert Ellis. Eight years, two name changes, and one location change
later, you now have the team you will get to know and love: the Sacramento
Heatwave. Under the leadership of head coach, Reggie Davis, who owns the
Heatwave since 2004, the Heatwave has made it to the division playoffs the
last two years.
The Heatwave's newly released schedule has them opening at home on
Saturday, November 12th hosting the Richmond Rockets in a Pacific North
Division battle. The second game of a weekend doubleheader opener pits the
Heatwave against one of their biggest rivals and last season's Pacific
North Division Champs, the Bay Area Matrix.
Tickets to the games are made extremely affordable for the greater
Sacramento community to enjoy seeing a new local team:
a.. General Admission: $10
b.. Kids Admission: $5
c.. Courtside: $25
d.. Season Ticket: $120
Fifteen (15) games at home this season, that means 15 chances to help
prove that Sacramento means business when it comes to its sports teams.
It is also 15 chances for Sacramento’s small business owners to show it
means business by supporting the Heatwave team via sponsorship and game
attendance!
