We can't make judgments on his College career either.... he was one and done and the only real scorer on the team his job was to score first set-up his teamates second.

The kid does show court vision... that's the foundation you need to try and learn that position. Whether he learns it or not thats another story. But he has shown adequate court vision and play making ability to show the potential to learn the position at a rate to be an adequate PG a la Derrick Rose.

Or he might not... too early to say.

What I do know is that we are in desperate need of talent on this team. We have the least talented roster in the league.

His job was to score.. Not to set up teammates.. When they ran set offenses it would go through Anderson, not Evans.

its just wrong that a 6'6 player with a 6'11 wingspan cant finish at the rim with a layup or dunk... he finishes plays like ben wallace, i cringe when i see him attack the basket because there is a good chance that he isnt going to make the basket.

this has become my main concern so far since the season has started. originally it was his passing and decision making but wow... if he were on a scoring spree putting up big numbers due to his size i could understand all of the homerism around here but when the dude cant even make a layup.... damn, i could make a layup... thats all i could do...

i have no problem with scoring pgs... bibby became a scoring pg and he was one of my favorite players, still is... but he knows how to run an offense and can make layups... beno sucks but he can run an offense and make layups, if he couldnt we would still be winless....
If it were more than 5 games into the season I could understand your pessimism. Thompson is 6'11" PF in his 2nd year and doesn't finish as well at the rim as he should. Check last nights game in the final minutes were he missed a point blank lay up. Yet I don't see you harping on him for lack of finishing capabilities.

Evans has not shown court vision. I forget who claimed that in the thread, but he does not have court vision. He knows how to get to the hole, but so far that is a one trick pony.

Which evans are you talking about? I have seen him display his vision a number of times, including a few times last night. Those passes don't always end up being an assist, but he has shown the ability to set guys up. He doesn't have the vision of nash or kidd, but few do.

Court vision implies more than just kicking it out to a guy who's man is doubling you. Evans doesn't see guys open on the break, doesn't see that guys are going to be open and doesn't understand the ideal spacing of the floor.

Man, Evans is terrible we should cut him. He has poor court vision, can't shoot, is nonathletic, doesn't understand spacing, can't pass, can't shoot, can't defend, isn't a pure pg, can't finish. I'm not even sure if he knows the offense. When I watch Evans I wonder why he was even drafted. We need to start Udrih or Rodriguez because they are pure pgs and move Evans to Sg off the bench behind Martin because we were highly successful starting Udrih last year and Rodriguez has been so successful running the team in Portland. Man why didn't we draft a pure pg this summer like I wanted. You can only win championships with pure pg's. Man let me think of all the pure pgs who won Nba titles in the last 10 years: Ron Harper, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, Derek Fisher, Chauncey Billups. When I think of a list of the purest of pure set up run the team score 2nd with great court vision pgs those names are at the top of my list. Why didn't we draft a guy like that? None of them struggled as young PG's in the league. Parker came out averaging 20 a game. Chauncey was a beast out of college and never made mistakes.

You probably won't stay around for a month to watch Evans now improve at the 2 with Kevin's injury, but I am sure you'll manage that foot out of your mouth without us.
