Grant is flushing his Sacramento radio career down the crapper (I'm fine with that, but it's not a logical move.) The Kings aren't staying here long term with the Maloofs. Grant has said that he wants to try to stay on Sacramento radio even if the Kings move. Grant has hitched his wagon firmly to the Maloofs and that's dumb.
If the Maloofs sell, Grant is so Maloof tainted that he will be replaced by the new owners when his contract up. When he's not the voice of the Kings, he can't carry a local radio show.
If the Maloofs move to Anaheim, Grant might get to tag along for a few years (might not). But at some point, he's probably gone. Grant's good at play by play, he not #2 media market good. At some point, the Maloof will fill that slot when a better broadcaster. When the Maloofs have to turn the team over the Ducks owner, he's gone.
When the teams moves, he's off KHTK fast. First, KHTK probably drops all sports when the Kings leave. Second, nobody wants to hear Grant doing national sports from Anaheim while working for the Royals.
He's trying really hard to keep both jobs. He's not talking about the Kings or the arena unless he has to until the lottery and trying to do a national show. Because he's complete mouth piece at this point for hated owners, he's dropping market share by the day. He will end up with no jobs.
Clearly he can't go after the Maloofs, but if he stayed objective but didn't attack them, he might land on the new Sacramento sports station post Kings. That's getting further and further off the table by the day. That job is now Dave's.
