The new boy is very new, so he's been on his best behavior (as have I).

And that's just the way it ought to be.

You make it sound as a chore... Training can be fun, you know. (Moderators, if you delete this, you don't have to PM me ;), I know the score).

I have a feeling that your brain is going to a dirtier place than mine.

Yes, you should be concerned.

Think GGG corrupted you. ;)

It's Internet, believe me. There is some subconcious part of me that believes that 3G is Jolie and that you would smash me in the face with a baseball bat if I step out of line. ;)

I only saw the 4th Quarter, but man, Bibby's defense was atrocious. I'm really starting to wonder why people are being so hard on Peja this year when Bibby has been just as much of a disappointment, offensively and especially defensively.

And wow, Abdur-Rahim was huge down the stretch.

I'll agree that Bibby is a bad defensively, but I think the reason why people are alot harder on Peja is because Bibby seems to try and want it more. Bibby's never been afraid to take big shots while Peja doesn't seem to cut as hard and want to take shots in the 2nd half let alone in the 4th quarter. Bibby didn't do much overall in the 2nd half but he had the balls to step up and nail that huge 3 with under a minute left while Peja was out there hiding somewhere.

Yeah, but Peja grabbed the rebound over another player off the Garnett miss. Ever heard of attribution theory? I hate to see fans just giving up on Peja. I would say that Bibby has been every bit as dissapointing this season, as has the whole team. Its not all Peja's fault. When we start playing better, Peja will be a huge part of it. If not I'll go right along with everyone saying to get rid of him.

I disagree on your first part and agree on the second. I think Peja has shown a great deal more effort than Bibby. Peja's been better on defense and has showed continuous effort on offense, even if he has gone through stretches where he hasn't been that effective.

But I'm not trying to defend Peja here, because he needs to step up. I'm just saying that as bad as Peja's been, Bibby's been just as bad. Yes, Bibby has hit more big shots, and Peja continues to struggle in the 4th Quarter. But Bibby has shown terrible effort on defense, especially in the last few games, and has not stepped up this year when the team was his for the taking.

For the highest paid player on the team and the alleged leader, I expected a lot more. I'm all for people calling out Peja, but Bibby is just as deserving.

Yea, the whole team has been disappointing so far. I certainly didn't think they'd be under 500 at this point and would've had a 5 game losing streak (losing unexpectedly several times at home). I thought they'd be the favorites to win the Pacific with Amare being out.

However, I've seen much more fight and desire out of Bibby. The guy has heart and wants to take the big shots (he's also pretty good at making them if you haven't noticed). Defensively he's bad just like almost every other player on the team not named Bonzi. Bibby is very slow laterally. Peja is pretty quick and I think he's just naturally better at keeping his man in front of him (probably without expending alot of effort). Like I said, Peja doesn't seem to cut as hard and I've never really seen him demand the ball or show much emotion in the 2nd half period.

If the fans have given up on Peja it's because he's given up on us first.

Take off your Mike-homer glasses...you might see better. Peja and MIKE are hurting both.

Bibby sucks defensively. He's played below expectations so far this season. Is that good enough?

Maybe you should take off the Peja-homer glasses. Seems like you can't handle that I said Mike is still more valuable to the team and tries harder. That's just the way I see it. Bibby's done more this year and much more over the last few years for this team than Peja could ever dream of.

It's all about what you done for me lately and lately they have both sucked. If Mike really wanted to try hard as you say he'd atleast contain his man on defense. Defense can be learned and a lot of it is will power, determination and hard work. Mike cashed in on his performance vs the Lakers in WCF and he hasn't been the same since.

I'd suggest watching some tape of last year. He carried the team for stretches and hit several game winners. Doesn't make him great, but it's alot more than Peja's ever done.

I am not sure what's co confusing about "what have you done for me lately"? I don't care about the last year but if you want let's mention 2003-04 season when Peja was lighting it up. Once again all that does not matter anymore since it will not help us win games now.

In all fairness, I only watched the last 3 minutes last night. I saw Mike nail a clutch 3 pointer and saw Peja miss a baseline runner by about 3 feet. Its not so much, what have you done lately as what have you ever done late, Peja.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. ;)

Alright will see what happens when Peja gets traded. If thing don't work out who's gonna be a scapegoat then...Artest? Mike? Maybe Jason Hart :)

I'm fine with Peja being a scapegoat, he deserves it to the extent. What bothers me is that some people are making it sound like he has never done anything good for us.

He grabbed a rebound with 2.7 seconds to go last night. If we didn't get that rebound Bonzi wouldn't have had a chance for the winning 3. Sure Bibby was near that rebound as well, but since we are nitpicking, if Bibby grabbed it maybe it would have been 2.2 seconds left on the clock and Bonzi's shot would have been late :)

Can good defenders (ore smaller quicker players defending him) take him out of his game... Sure. But even when he is not scoring he is a valuable piece on the floor. I remember him being the assist man on those 2 back to back 3s that Bibby had last night.

PEja is nowhere near perfect and deserves alot of criticism, but also deserves recognition when he is trying and making an effort out there. In last 3-4 games he has been alot more aggressive and this opens up opportunities for others.

I'm broke right now so this is only my $0.01 instead of the usual $0.02 ;)

Look at the Marko Jaric numbers from the last night. I only watched the last 48 minutes of the game and saw Mike being abused over and over again by Marko Jaric.

Well in all fairness, Jaric is 6'7 and alot bigger than Bibby so he would have some trouble guarding such player.

That doesn't explain Jaric's baffling ability to drive by Bibby at will. Jaric is big but he's not quick.

Well, He can't stop Chris Paul because he is to quick. Can't stop Jaric because he is too tall. What is next ?
