Well what can you really say about that game. Man, we gave that one away! This team needs to find some offensive cohesion and they will but it could be painful to watch until then. (Hopefully "then" is friday)
Loved what Brad Miller brought in the hustle department. The hustle over all was great and the D for the most part was good. But this team still has to figure out their offense.
Muss made a mistake tonight by not putting Reef on KG until the end of the game. Reef plays KG really well and Kenny, well, doesn't.
And Taylor shouldn't have gotten thrown out for that BULL****.

i kind of agree, with big 3, but with sar coming off the bench itll be tough for him to be one of our main offensive options..clearly my love for brad (hes my 2nd fav player in the league) blurs my reality, but realistically we all know hes good for itleast 14 pts., so he can be a good option, usually. Maybe sar will start eventually, and then hes without a doubt a legitamte 3rd option behind martin and then bibby

I think there's something about Minnesota that makes Mike angry. Isn't that where he got a technical foul while walking to the lockerroom last year?
Bibby needs to realize he doesn't have KG rep and can't ***** to his hearts content.
And I am fine with Martin being peja like in scoring, because he is a our third option. The problem with Peja was the year he was suppsed to be the #1 guy and then quietly faded. Martin should be the third option after Bibby and Artest on offense and in that role, he's quite good.

I think that could be true. Different style, but same type of role. Get us the easy points, but not a guy great at creating for himself or others. Not a goto guy, but a guy who might get you 20 points efficiently with off the ball movement and fast break points. Those players have value as long as they have guys clearly ahead of them doing the creating and forcing the action. And on this team, with those great passing days a thing of the past, we really need any easy points we can get. The cap though being that you can't just throw it to Kevin more and more often and expect the same results you can with a Wade or whoever.

Does that mean we need another consistant scorer to work alongside Bibby like Hughes and James? And by the way, I didn't pay that much attention when Artest was with Bulls/Pacers but I think in both teams Artest wasn't the first 2,3 scoring option, was he?

With all the great things Artest brings to the table, he is starting to REALLY pee me off with his "chucker" mentality

Note to Kings: Once you get an offense rebound, you are not required to take a shot, you can pass the ball out to setup the offense

Ron can and should be a offensive option, but not for shooting. Either drive and go the basket and draw the foul or drive to the basket draw double or triple coverage and then kick out to Mike, Kevin, or Brad, or SAR for an open look. Please Ron don't jack up so many shots you have no business trying to attempt, that's not you. You are a stud and you can use your strength and hustle to beat the opposition and let the other guys here who can shoot to stick the daggers in the opposition with their good high % shooting.
Ron reminds me of Brett Favre trying to throw a pass in double and triple coverage trying to make the impossible happen. He just needs to be smarter about his abilities and do what he does best, Defense and breaking down the opponents D with driving to the basket and finishing or kicking it out for a teamate with a open look.

I almost had, but it popped into my brain sometime last night. I just had to share the misery with others.

Such doom and gloom after only one game! It was just a horrible night of poor shooting--it happens. Is it disappointing--sure, but it is one game. The big picture shows we had a terrible shooting percentage, but on the other hand we played very good defense (ask the Minnesota players who said so), tied in free throws, outrebounded them 51-38 had less fouls and turnovers than they did. I thought the performances of both teams were down. Of course, the important thing is the L instead of the W.
Also, what is the constant bashing of Miller? He had the worst night of shooting, he said so afterwards, but he had 8 rebounds, only 1 foul, and no turnovers. He is just solid on the floor with his passing, free throw shooting, and team playing. Even doing pretty good on defense. Pick on someone else for a while!

Mo Taylor seems to be like a less athletic Billy Owens and it makes me sad to see him on the floor. Can anyone see how he adds anything to this team??

I'm not going to defend Mo Taylor very much after he stunk it up and got himself ejected, but he's reasonably equipped for what the team needs him to do. 10 minutes a game bodying up post players, keeping the ball moving and the occasional offensive spurt. He's not going to rebound, he's not going to block shots, but at $1 million and 10 minutes a game I don't know if we should expect much more. He wasn't brought in to be any kind of savior -- just to be a solid presence for one year until Petrie is able to improve the frontcourt through a trade or free agency.

Yeah, hopefully not like last summer or the year before that or the year before that. But in all seriousness, it seems like he's been trying (Wilcox, Przybilla) it just hasn't worked yet. Fourth time's a charm, right?
Couldn't agree more.
They looked like a junior high team out there, no offensive plan what so ever.
There is no way Muss is getting a passing grade on this one, he had absolutely no control of this team last night.

i agree, but if he's going to take so many shots, atleast let them be high percentage i mean come on now artest you're not d-wade, dont be afraid to shoot from 15 feet from time to time

Martin ( B ) -- 23 of the quietest points you are likely to see makes for a challenging grade. Leading scorer, only player who could hit anything, largely courtesy of his normal array of layups and leak outs, but...I dunno. Just no real impact. In the early going had a couple of hoops, but was largely kept out of the action by attentive Minnesota defense. Made his layups, but looked uncomfortable from the perimeter and got most of his points sneaking in for garbage hoops here and there. Reminiscient of a vintage Peja game where Kevin was the guy getting those easy points for us, but without great impact. Kept on chipping in scores here an there after half, but began to mix in forces and miscues, and joined the team in just going one on one in the 4th, turning it over repeatedly. Given Ron's meltdown probably the best King tonight, but a pretty middling game given the scoring effort (nice for my fantasy teams though
Thats the only one I don't agree with. I would go a tick lower... he was passing up open shots, just looking like KM of old rookie year. Wasn't to happy with his performance. He needs to be a lot more aggressive. Agree with your comments just not the grade. WELL let me back track he was our leading scorer so I can up it a bit just for that.
Still was pretty disapointed in his effort, especially for me.. .I finally was thinking he could be something special. That performance set me back to reality and the pre-season hype was just that.

Geez, BW, that's harsh. He had a tough shooting night, a night that he didn't look comfortable with the shot for much of the night (games like that DO happen) and he still ended up our high scorer. It was one game, I wouldn't give up on him yet
The problem is that people are EXPECTING big things from KM now. It's unfair for the kid, because he isn't at that level yet.
We should be pleased by his effort and we should be excited when he does well. We shouldn't be down on him when he doesn't do everything right. He's not at that level and more than likely he will never be.
He dribbles with his head down. He can't see the floor. He doesn't have good vision for either passing or picking the right shot. He's not a great ball handler and can be very selfish and revert to one-on-one easily.
What he does have is an amazing first step, unbelievable elevation on his shot and quick moves. He can be a 20PPG guy, there's no question. But, he shouldn't be forced to do it on his own. We need plays to get him in the right positions.
