That last word is kind of the problem there. We don't need more offense. That's not what has killed us for oh, 7-8 years now. We score just fine, and you rarely/never need all your guys to be scorers anyway. What we do desperately need is the ability to lock the other team up at the end of the game.

Yeah, I meant more in a possesion down the stretch when we need a bucket, thats a front 3 where each guy could legit draw a double team on most nights. You probably don't want those 3 playing together for long stretches, but in situational late game situations its a pretty dangerous front 3 to have. Like say we're up 3 with the ball like tonight, you can set up a pretty killer set involving those 3 and IT to get a good shot.

He said it again?

I watched the Minn broadcast but I heard Jerry say that last week.

No, he didn't repeat it. It was just brought up as an example of some dumb stuff Jerry has said in regards to Rudy's name, possibly because Gary Gerould called Rudy "the Gay man" tonight on the radio.

He meant "happy"

Gary Gerould has been known for many years as "the G man," a term of respect and endearment. I think Gerould was trying to show the same for Gay, and didn't realize until the words were out of his mouth that there was an entirely different connotation possible.

I am not going to forgive IT for the simple reason he showed EVERY SINGLE FAULT some of us have been pointing out tonight and it nearly cost us a win on the road. I don't know what makes me angrier - seeing IT apparently lose his mind OR seeing one of the ITliebers refusing to acknowledge it.

Yeah! Said it better than I could since I was kinda like the exploding emoticon in the last 4 min of the game. Kings win but.......

Never because the inane nicknames are Jerry's thing
how so? I hear Grant call IT the pizza guy all the time especially when he's on a hot streak. Him and Jerry always drool over IT. Also with the pizza guy partnership, they've been using the name a lot more often.

The pizza guy with the pizza hustle!

The Pizza Guy is totally because of the sponsorship. Jerry did not create that nickname. Jerry comes up with things like "Rudini" and "Bibbylicious" and "Bayou Bomber" and "Hustlin' Husky" and "Rudy Trey" and too many more to list.

IT has held his last four opposing starting PGs to minimal output (although I know he is not the sole factor). Hopefully this represents a direction towards being competent in that area

The Tasmanian Slovenian!

Oddly I can't really recall him giving names to either Demarcus or C-Webb.

"Beno with the draino", "Jimmer with the shimmer".

Actually as ridiculous as most of his nicknames are, "Bayou Bomber" and "Hustlin' Husky" are pretty decent.

edit - forgot about "Hedo...He-DO!" lol

I'm blown away at how much Rudy Gay was undervalued league wide. He's been fantastic for us. I typically browse other team's forums when we play them, and most fans are pretty jealous at how good he's been for us. It's actually kind of amusing, on several occasions I've come across fans that are convinced Rudy only goes off against their team. I just want to say "no, he does this against pretty much everybody nowadays."

B for Cousins? Interesting. He certainly picked it up in the 2nd half, but i'm not sure so sure a B effort is when it took him 19 shots to get his 20 on top of a 5 TO and 5 Foul night. The effort on D was also fairly inconsistent. Was also forcing quite a bit.

Just my opinion of course, but this was more of a C, C- effort than a B. Perhaps my expectations are far too high, but he was underwhelming in this one. Scary that "underwhelming" for Cuz still results in 20-11

You would think IT was Jason Hart with how some posters are treating him here. Is he perfect? no, but his penetration and shooting open up a lot of things for us and he plays his heart out(sometimes to a fault). I think one thing is that he has always played as the underdog with something to prove, now he isn't that, he made it to the top of his craft as a starting PG in the NBA putting up big numbers. Just needs to learn to manage the team better while still being agressive.

I think a B is fair as he kept Pekovic grounded( T Wolves feed off of Pekovic imposing himself insided). It was a battle of two Bulls, both struggled, but Cousins was able to break loose a little in the second half to have a slight edge in the battle. Wasn't a great game from Cousins, but its a big step up from previous performances against Pekovic.

I gave Cousins a B grade as well.
Two things to consider when looking at Cousins grade in this one.

First, over the last 10 games Pek is averaging 22 points, 10 rebounds on 55% shooting.
Cousins did a good job on him, limiting him to 14 points, 8 rebounds on 41% shooting.

The second thing is that in the last 10 games Cousins is 2nd in the league on free throw attempts at 10.8 a game and in an extremely physical game with Pek he only went to the line 2 times. So considering that he didn't get calls that he might normally get to pick up some points at the FT line and he was only 1 shot off of 50%, it's hard to classify his scoring as 'bad' in this one.

I do love the fact that we have a player who can give you 20-10 in a win on the road and think it's a C-type game. It just speaks not only to how good he is, but how consistent he has been through this season.

Did Pekovic look this crazily ripped last year? Maybe it was my TV & low def feed stretching the picture, but he looked like a beast. Hopefully he isn't on the juice. Should be in the WWE.

Also, what's the verdict on their court design? I'm on the fence.

Pekovic's muscle mass is directly proportional to the girth of his mighty brow.

The only thing I take exception to and it's a big one is this whole "he plays his heart out" narrative. He does on offense but I rarely see him giving everything on the other end. He doesn't fight through screens, chase guys, etc.

If so, and I think it is so, it means he is half hearted. ;)

He never played with an imposing post player, who at the same time can clear out the block for him to score and still be effective. Embiid might become the second, but it will take a few years at least. So when people are panicing about re-signing Rudy...If Kings don't decide to low-ball him wiht under $10 million offer, I'm sure Gay will stay. I don't agree with everything PDA does, but he's executing, what he believes to be the right decision, very well.
