Jimmer isn't right for this team...neither are Salmons, Garcia, Outlaw, Hayes. Jimmer is probably better on another team with a coach that lets his players run and gun more. Smart has this team confused right now, nobody knows what their roles are, and the offense is so hurky-jerky its no wonder we only score 85 a game. Something has to give.

This team is very accepting to players running and gunning. Whether or not that should be is a different issue.

I actually think Jimmer can be a great fit for this team, in the sense that a team usually builds around its best players. Ideally, he can be a secondary ballhandler/spot up shooter next to Evans, and spread the floor for Cuz.

Does anyone know if there is a team in the league that is successful offensively with a 2 and 3 who can't shoot from the outside? I can't think of one. Intuitively it seems you're asking a lot in offensive precision when teams can just pack the paint because your 2 and 3 can't shoot. No wonder IT's game is subpar. No wonder Tyreke and Johnson are finding it very crowded when they drive to the hole. Same with Cousins. Seems to me that something has to give with the lineup.

Agreed with this. Our offense has looked its best with 2 shooters+2 defenders+Cousins on the floor

Even so, look at how many wide open shots we miss over the course of the game. If you went back and watched the tape from last nights, you'd probably see close to 20 open jumpers or easy shots at the rim that we bricked. We shot 6-36 last night from the perimeter. If we make 5 more shots for 11-36 (30%) we win the game. Shooting 30% from the perimeter should not be too much of pro basketball team.

Eventually, something is going to have to give with Johnson and Reke in the starting lineup together. They just destroy our ability to have any sort of half-court offense and their lack of shooting destroy Reke and Cousins most effective offensive abilities

Musselman even had a better grasp on the rotation when he was coach, and a lot less talent/youth too. How is playing 15 guys every game, with your starters playing less than 30 min going to do any good? This is horrible...the rotation doesn't need to include Salmons, Outlaw or Garcia...we need to get rid of Jimmer, and unless Tyreke can get a grasp on the fact he shouldn't be taking jumpshots, create on offense and lock down on defense, we need to see what we can get for him before its too late. This team needs help...BAD!

i agree with all of the above. and i am a HUGE HUGE Tyreke Evans fan.

except i do think Salmons can have a few minutes at the backup 3 if he can be productive. but Outlaw, Garcia, Jimmer should never be on the court if the game isnt a blow out.

and more importantly. he needs to leave at least one starter on the floor at all times.

We don't have any sort of half court offense with or without them on the floor together so the point is moot, iso and go and if you move without the ball smart will pull you :). We aren't getting blown out at the start of every game with our 5 starters we are staying close or winning with those 5 in so while its a problem we need to look at the second quarter and the ends of the first to identify why we are losing right now in the games we have played this season.

I agree. The wide open shots were there. I just wonder how many of the wide open shots were "given" to Tyreke and Johnson. Regarding open shots, it seems imperative to me that Thornton should be taking 20+ shots a game and that he should be played so that he has a rythm to his game.
