You only took out of my post what you wanted to see. I NEVER wanted to do all the grades every game. I asked Bricklayer, politely, if I could join the grading consortium and do just a couple of players each game and I was rejected. Even Bricklayer knows it's almost impossible to grade every player, every game.

I have no problem with you, and I don't want to speak for Bricklayer, but you don't just 'join' anything here. Bricklayer has been doing these grades for forever, and Capt. and Baja have been around almost as long, they have more posts, they have a better track record, etc.

There are many posts/posters on this forum that I just skip over. Either I don't have the time or I know the poster won't be bringing anything to the table. This is never the case with Capt. or Baja, they make sense as graders to me. You wouldn't. And that's no knock on you, but this little episode of yours is pretty solid proof why.

Venting.

It's a sad day when 75% of our conversations these days center around LWP777, the grades and everyone CONSTANTLY going back and forth.... my word, it's annoying. Who cares people? I get that what he says may irk some people, myself included, but I believe he thrives off of the arguing and actually likes being "the bad guy," if that makes sense. He's so caught up on "our leader Bricklayer," and how we hate anyone who thinks "different." He's enjoying being the guy that gets under your skin. So, IGNORE HIM.

Debates are fun, going back and forth on the KINGS is fun! But at this point, kingsfans the last few days has been centered more around whether or not LWP777 can freaking grade a game, etc etc. WHO CARES????

BTW, I don't read the grades every game. I glance through at them every couple games or so. But I have a huge appreciation of those who take the time to grade. Huge props to you 3, I know it takes time and dedication - especially w/o a obvious reward. So, kudos to you. And the grades do serve as great discussion starters!

Also, to you LWP - if you want to make a freaking grades post, then DO IT. If you don't want to, then don't do it. Please save us from all the drama that comes from your decision making process.

Given how horrid that game was, we really deserve more girls.

If anyone can figure how we can play so great against Miami and Orlando and degrade to this lowly state, please tell us...

You know my guess goes towards coaching. We're so inconsistent because there's nothing we can hang our hat on scheme-wise. Because of that, we require excellent individual play to win a game. Someone has to "go off", if you know what I mean. The last two games we had most everyone firing on all cylinders.
I mean, the Spurs are a great example. They aren't as gifted as Miami, but they don't have to be. They know their roles and play within them.
That's my two cents, anyway. We have individual talent, but not a team.

I guess LWP777 at least past puberty. But that's too personal. He's the only one on my ognore list so I am spared what he says. Saying it is nice to have an opposing view is being kind to him. If he would simply do that it would be fine but the chest thumping is adolescent.

I hope he has learned that grading the team in a coherent way day in day out is an incredible job. My wish is that Brick would do them all but I would never ask that of an unwiling and perhaps burned out person. I had the web site from 1996 until 2000 and as verbous as sometimes I can get, analyzing what was going on was very difficult on even a weekly basis so I had plenty of help. Brick doesn't share my mentality and maybe what he does isn't a pain in the rear but believe me, analyzing every player for every game is a pain in the rear for me. I have heaped enough praise on Brick to maybe appear to be on his payroll but let's be real and appreciate what has gone on from the beginning of time.

This doesn't mean we can't challenge specific grades and discuss it but to ask the rater to defend a grade is silly. It's insulting. There is no claim that these reviews are sciewntific but are simply one experienced basketball fan's views. The reviewer has to be able to write coherently also.

It is intersting to my analytical mind that people began to complain about the grades when the consortium began. Am I right? I don't think the change has come without growing pains for the readers. The writers are doing fine.

The benefit of having one person is that reviews of players can be compared and that's what I like. Apparently old age has finally struck the brickmeister. Been there, done that. :)

LWP777 is just having a laugh.

You could be right, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If and when I think he's just a troll having a laugh at our expense, then he'll go on my ignore list. But for right now, I'll remain openminded, and give him more leeway than he's willing to give Cousins.

Making the trip opening day 201x to watch OUR Kings tip off the season in style in a shiny new building downtown. Lets get there!

Actually, since I'll be attending summer league again in july, I'll be a little ahead of opening day.

Our rotations are terrible, and as a result, the trust needed for good rotations is going south. I could talk for hours on this subject, and belive me, a great shotblocker would certainly help, but until everyone is on the same page on the defensive side of the ball, its going to be a disastor. Shotblocker or not!

Edit: And I might add! Next game, pay special attention to what IT does when Cousins defends the pick and roll by stopping the ball and doing a push. 90% of the time, IT just stands there and watches. What he's susposed to do is get in the passing lane to prevent the ballhandler from making a pass to Cousins man. As a result, you see the Duncan's of the world rolling undefended to the basket. At first observation, it appears that its Cousins fault, but in reality its IT's fault. And its not just Cousins. Three times in a game a few days ago IT did the same thing to Hayes, who had a heated disscussion with IT on the floor.

After a while, if your Cousins or JT or Hayes, you hang IT out to dry because you don't trust him to have your back. This idea that IT is a good defender is pure BS!

So this is when IT is guarding someone like Parker and Duncan set the pick to pick him off? I'm a little unclear on the situation. I guess we're focused on different things. I'm focused on the fact that when one of our guards get beat at the 3 pt line the guard that beats him is able to waltz into a layup because no big, including Cousins, comes over to challenge the shot. There seems to be a whole lot wrong when it comes to team defense.

Come on Baja...you would never put me on your ignore list. You love me way too much to do something drastic like that!

What happened in the instances I'm refering to, happened to both Cousins, and Hayes, and IT was involved everytime. IT got picked off, and Cousins slid off his man and stopped the ball, which was in the other teams PG hands. In every instance, IT failed to get into the passing lane to prevent the other teams PG from passing the ball to the big that set the pick. In every instance, that person scored. IT simply stood there like a spectator, waiting for Cousins, or Hayes to switch back to their man so he could continue guarding the other teams PG. Which didn't happen of course because they scored the ball.

After one of these instances, Hayes and IT had an extended conversation. The problem is, that if a center or a PF keeps getting burn't on the pick and Roll through no fault of his own, there comes a time when he doesn't come up and stop the ball, because he doesn't trust his teammates to rotate and pick up his man. I will admit that neither Cousins or JT do a good enough job at times of really pushing the PG out and disrupting the play. Also, there should be someone else that rotates over to defend the basket. I have no idea what defensive scheme they're playing. Maybe it called "By the seat of your pants defense".

+1
Putting him on ignore does not help when folks keep quoting him in replies.
