Oh My God, the Kings lose again! I hate Kevin for missing all his shots! Who needs JT?!?!? We can just fill in with Donté and Hilton "2 rebs in 4 mins" Armstrong!

Trade Kevin and JT for talent! We need it!!

</sarcasm>

Another typical game for a young team. Flashes of good play, periods of breakdowns and bad play. Flashes of brilliance. So much better than last year. These guys seem to genuinely care about trying to win, and most of them still have plenty of potential to grow into. Color me excited.

I know this is going to sound weird but when was the last time Kevin dunked the ball? I haven’t seen him dunk it in a long time – I’m not even sure he has this year. Is he just trying to be careful or have just missed the times that he has dunked it?

Blair.

I love Brockman but part of me wish that we didn't trade our 31 pick and taken Blair with it.

Until in year 3 when Blair blows out his knees and is done for his career. No cartilage means NO CARTILAGE.

something has got to give. i dont know exactly what our record with kevin is but its somewhere around 3-15 with him and 14-16 without him. not saying that hes all of the problem but its just not working with him

I thought he had no ACL's... now it makes sense when I blew mine I "walked" on it for a few months before it was repaired. Just could not believe someone could play with an ACL missing let alone two.

Makes a lot of sense now... lol No way you can play with your femur going one way and your tibia going the other... no way.

Actually...I am pretty sure it is one of the ligaments. They said they were damaged in high school and then disintegrated? I will have to look up the stories.

In any case, you jsut eliminate all the stabilizing structures in the knee, kind of makes 'em impossible to blow out. ;)

wow, I turned the game off with like 2 min. left to play. Didn't realize I was missing something semi-exciting.
Starters:
Tyreke = A+
Kings defense = C-
Kevin = D
Hawes = B
Greene = B
Casspi = C

Ha yea.... I went up for a put back dunk landed in between two guys. Wasnt pretty. Blown ACL, MCL and left my PCL dangling by the smallest of fibers. Hurt like a ***

I tried walking on that wasnt happening... so anyone that can actually play like that has my respect.

That's why I (and I think most europeans) don't and won't understand of franchise players treatment in NBA. If your best or one of your best players is having an awful night, you just take him out of court. I can truly understand that Tyreke's case is different, as he has to gain experience. But Martin? It's really the apocalypse if he gets 15-20 minutes when he's playing so bad?

To his fragile ego it sure is. Him and JT need to see a sports psychologist.

2 things:

1) no comments yet on Donte at the #4. I really liked the look and feel that it could get much better, especially if he works on the post game a little. I would love to see this front court with either Beno/Segio at PG and reke at the #2.

2) The Reke explosion in the final 2 minutes: We all salivate about it when it is Reke. Anyone else, say Sergio, and we say "garbage points - BFD." I love Reke as much as the next guy, but it does really does expose our biases.

I disagree. If the situation was the same and it was ANY player that took the team on his back and kept us close like that, more power to them. Pop was calling time-outs, it wasn't garbagetime. Close, but not quite.....

Ummm...no. Tyreke never gave up. He played those final 2minutes as if he thought the Kings still had a legit chance to win the game. With 4 seconds left, we did have a chance to win. He almost single-handidly completed what would have been an amazing comeback, by playing both ends of the court. Those weren't garbage points as you put it, by any stretch of the imagination. Just ask Pop, who called 2 timeouts in the final minute.

If anything, it brings up the question of "should Tyreke become more aggresive earlier on in the game?" If he started attacking a few minutes earlier, would the result have been different? I don't know. But this team looks better when Tyreke is aggressive.

not gonna lie.... hawes is looking much better... i love the 3 blocks.... but 6 boards??? that really worries me....

Armstrong had 2 boards in 4mins.... why did Hawes only have 6 in 31mins?

Yea, but you know, that might be the first time Hawes played Duncan and didn't get beat like a RUG! He held his ground and made a game of it. Forced the Spurs to go elsewhere for their points. Blair just killed us inside. That is an example of WHY Petrie has to acquire a real inside presence and defensive stopper. If we could have played some defense in the paint, this game was right there for the taking. Martin is trying to play his way off this team it looks like...

I don't care how bad he's playing... You don't boo a King. That pissed me off.

Yea that was definitely weird. A player (who is still) on this team has lost his confidence and his own fans knock it down some more. I'm one of those who think Kevin should be traded but that was completely uncalled for IMO.

Yeah that pissed me off too. Don't kick a man while he is down. As frustrated as we might be with his play, he is equally as frustrated. More so, I hope.

Okay, let me clarify before people think I am a bigger idiot than they already do. The final 2-3 minutes has more to do with the Spurs effort (or any other team that is about to beat us) than the player picking up "garbage points." That is, it looks like they have the game well in hand so they let-up on the accelerator/stop playing D as as hard. This allows for someone still playing hard to score more easily. It is almost a psychological thing that teams let-up a bit when they think they have the game in hand. It is the reason that Pop calls a time-out to wake his guys up and let them know that the game is not over.

I personally do not even believe the concept of "garbage stats." If you play hard until the end of the game and score points, get rebounds etc then those are legit because you continue to play hard.

My main point here is that Reke started going off on a D that had probably let is guard down thinking the outcome was decided (this is to Rekes credit) This is very similar to when "player x" scores 6-8 points in the final 3 minutes when we are down 20 (this is to player x' credit). In both cases, the points are being scored against a defense giving less than maximum effort.

It is different however in that player X in the 20pt game is normally doing much of it against reserve players and a couch lounging over on the bench having some nachos long after the game has been called. Reke was doing it against Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili with Pop calling timeouts trying to break the momentum in a game that had been competitive only a minute or two before the run began, and which quickly became competitive again.

That's a good point. But don't you think that the Spurs stopped giving 100%. Heck, I would try to conserve energy knowing that I was facing 8 road games.
