Hall of Famer
Remember when people debated whether we should give Boogie a max contract or not?
If you're planning to let him grade Thomas, give me some advance notice, so that I can get some paper towels and Windex from Wal-Mart, while they're still open.
I keed, I keed.
Many of us thought it was a no brainer! A massive failing if it did not happen!Remember when people debated whether we should give Boogie a max contract or not?

Is anyone geting discouraged by Williams? I am. He seems like such a great athlete but his contributions are not big at all. I'm sure the excuse will be that Rudy is here but I kinda doubt it. I don't fault the trade but I'd really like to have Mbah a Moute right now.
Williams is/will be the back-up SF when Landry comes back.I am currently lobbying for a Williams for Danny Green trade. I will let you know how that works out. Especially with Landry about to come back. I see him getting the backup PF min not Williams. Or a Landry for Asik and a Williams for green would be nice. Then explore Thornton trades for pg. Lowry, jack...ect.

Thomas ( C ) -- Got off to a slow start with his outside shot off and Houston doing a good job clogging the lane on his drives. Had his shot blocked twice in the first quarter. Can't remember the last time that happened. Lin deserves some credit as well. Was physical with IT all night and managed to get under his skin. Was doing a nice job running the offense and with Lin not looking to score early things weren't as bad as the ugly shooting numbers would lead you to believe. Rough third quarter for Isaiah as Lins defensive style was clearly frustrating him. Still wasn't able to find his shot and unlike in the first half wasn't creating much offense either. Sat for a long time, too long if you ask me, and came back in well into the fourth. Had a nice drive then a big three with the game very much in doubt. On the other end Lin was being more aggressive and getting into the lane for a couple baskets inside. Still overall it was a nice finish in a game we really had to win. Nice to see us get some production outside of the big three and manage a quality win in spite of a mediocre game from IT.--Henkel
I'm sorry but I cannot agree that IT's performance warrants a C. He got 10 assists. That alone bumps him out of the mediocre category. IT was part of the reason we won last night. I would lobby strongly for a B- ...
I didn't like the trade and I like it less so now with Rudy Gay in town. Mbah a Moute would be a perfect player for this team as currently constructed!
When they get traded, playerrs generally go on a tear for a few games before they come down to earth! Remember when Kenny Thomas looked like C-Webb and got a triple double or when Brian Skinner looked lik Bill Russell there for a while!
I am always nervous when my team is picking up a player that Rick Adelman didn't rate! If anyone can get the best out of the player it's Adelman. He has made some very average players look like good productive players. And before people bring up Gerald Wallace, let's not forget who was in front of him on the depth charts at SF. He was always going to struggle to get minutes for a few years.

Also can someone tell me why Gay has never been in the All-Star game? Not even once... Yeah he's inefficient but once had a 45% shooting season, which isn't bad at all. Weird he has never been there yet is considered a star/top SF in the league....
He's the perennial borderline case. He really is the second best SF in the West, but as you can see in the Boogie All Star thread being a 19ppg SF is excellent, but there is always going to be some group ahead of you.
Williams is clearly doing the 'I'm not getting 30+ mpg anymore, I don't know how to contribute' thing. It's unfortunate, but not unexpected.
He's either rushing his offense to make an impact, or slowing it down to much that you don't even realize he's out there. Like I (and others) said when he was benched for Gay, it's an issue and one worth being concerned over.
He's a nobody now. He's Travis Outlaw. He's just another bench nondescript bench guy.
And it will likely stay this way until some team lets him start. Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved at the deadline again.
Yeah if the gay trade happened before the Williams trade then we still have moute. Although I feel Williams is the better player to have. He is a good player and still has a lot of upside where as moute is topped out and history of bad knee.As much as I liked the trade and liked Williams, he and Gay operate in the same sort of way. Except Gay is much, much, much better at it. I think Williams is the kind of guy who thrives in getting extended minutes and making an impact over the course of a game. He doesn't really have the type of game where he can immediately flip the switch and score when he first comes in.
Unfortunately, Mbah is absolutely perfect for what we've developed in to. Excellent defender, can switch him onto any perimeter position, and doesn't want or need shots.

Except Adelman also tried him at SF, yet he failed in that attempt as well. You can't seriously bring up this argument while forgetting Kevin Love was in front of Williams (who they tried at PF)....
We agree???? Are you on drugs? Are there other Mbah a Moutes out there. I presume so but skilled defenders don't get much media attention so I'm a tad ignorant

I thought he averaged 15 and 8 as a starter at SF, not bad for a sophmore at the time...

The most I would have given him was a C+. While I give him props for his 10 assists, I just can't ignore his 6 for 17 from the floor. He also had some defensive breakdowns. The irony is that he actually defended the quicker of the two, Brooks, better than he did Lin, who got by him several times off the dribble.
Jimmer rarely plays any extended minutes with Cousins.I love the improvement we're seeing from both the starters and the bench. I would like to see Jimmer get the ball to Cousins in the post more (both him passing it in and Cousins actually going to post up instead of hanging out on the perimeter). Right now any time the bench comes in we become extremely perimeter oriented, which may work on some nights but isn't something I believe will work with consistency.
