Summary: there wasn't much going for a half+ again, but we hung in there and down the stretch we had a second big weapon
Gay ( A- ) -- badly missed his first jumper again, and throughout the first half was wincing and shuffling like he was in some pain. Still, he was making more good plays than he has in some time, although still little off his own dribble. Mostly he was catching balls off the spot ups, and running the floor to get finishes. But he hit an in rhythm three. Added a nice cut and post hook, made another nice play with a good steal and breakout. Through the third it was more of the same. Rudy was doing just enough not to be an impediment, but Boogie barely had a second weapon. Finally hit a relatively classic Rudy shot in the early 4th with a little jumper in the paint, and suddenly he became a major presence down the stretch, a significant second option teaming with Cuz to make this one of the better games of the year. He tied the game with a turnaround over Williams with 4:20 to go. Hit a late pullup with 2:40 to go, another pullup to put us up 4 with 1:50 to go. And when he hit the monster 3 late in the 2nd OT to make it a 7 point lead it looked like he had hit the game sealer and the stupid Dallas streak was finally over. Not to be of course, but it was big welcome back game as Rudy finally joined the renewed spirit here.

Summary: possibly a key player here, as he brought great energy from tipoff and played above his head. Forgotten about late though.
Acy ( A+ ) -- gave us a great burst of energy in the early going that may have helped us establish the idea that we weren't going to go away, came back to reprise that role in the 3rd, and then unfortunately was forgotten about for all but one play in the big stretch battle (and on that one play in OT he snatched a strong d-board) Made some huge hustle plays, and punctuated everything with his emphatic dunks. Even added a corner three on the kick from Cuz. I plussed him here because you are going to see 12pts in 16 minutes out of Quincy just about never, and in the early going he was one fo the spiritual leaders of us putting up a fight.

Summary: so so very close. SO close. Hit the shot to send it to OT and tried to carry us to victory, would have been a signature game.

Summary: maybe he was playing hurt, but feels like the whole roster is passing him on the depth chart just with grit.
McLemore ( D ) -- the good news? Becoming better at setting other people up with passes than at shooting. The bad news? Becoming better at setting other people up with passes than at shooting. Provided no offense again, missed his threes again, and this on a night when we badly needed the shooting for 3 1/2 quarters. He did score a coupe of times on assisted hoops using his athleticism, including one nice catch and adjustment on the errant alley oop pass from Collison. But that was it. He set up Cuz, he set up Acy, it wasn't quite a complete nothing, but having perfect form on your jumpers only matters if you take them, and make the ones you take. More problematically, the Mavs and Wes Matthews know Ben, and they attacked his weaknesses, trapping him when he handled, and Wes worked him over with his superior strength. And so down the stretch of one of the better games we've played in recent years, in a double OT battle that would have been huge for us, Ben McLemore had lost his spot on the floor to undrafted 6'3" tweener guard Seth Curry, who at least brought a balls out scrappy defensive presence to the floor. D for disappointing. Where's the damn fight?

Summary: not quite enough offense for most of the game, and shaky decisionmaking late in it.
