I think you make a good point, and it struck a cord with me. When I think about it, the games aren't entertaining to me at all any more. To be honest, I almost dread watching them now. The last thing I want to do is rain on anyone's parade. The win's have come far and few between, so I get wanting to enjoy them when they happen. And I will say that I thought our defense was a little better last night. But if were honest, the Mav's almost stunk the place out last night. Dirk wasn't Dirk. He looked like his legs were gone. He left everything short and looked like he was in slow motion most of the night. The Mav's missed open shot after open shot. Hey, it happens! It happens to us quite regularly. Point is, I don't take too much solace from last nights game. But I did enjoy the win...
Ya know, old dude, it is almost shocking yet wonderful to hear truthful opinions/feelings. Many of the eternal optimists are losing interest. I sure as hell have lost interest. I turned on the game at half time and I NEVER miss a minute. For the Kings to have lost some of us is something the FO should worry about. I suspect it is reflected in the attendance.

That being said, when I take part in the forum at game time, I try to stay upbeat and even a little gallow's humor is useful. Wins are still better than losses but losses are not all that heartbreaking to me. That's a change. I enjoy the fans even as I am not enjoying the team.

One final note, I get criticized for being a "debby downer" for wins and losses. I have every right to criticize this team how I see fit, I invest time and money into this team, just like everyone else, or most of us. If I'm not seeing something I don't approve of, I will point it out despite what people want to say.

Tough read, this thread. We won. After four losses we won. Consensus, we played better defense, Mavs were having a bad shooting night, I don't feel badly for them. The forever bashed Karl and Bellinelli deserve credit. Our floor genral who leads us to so many losses deserves credit, lots of it. Cuz and Collison deserve a lot of credit. The game couldn't have turned out any better. We won. Better enjoy it because if we play just as well Saturday we probably lose. It's always fun to play the Spurs because it gives you a good measure of how your team is playing. Keep on going, Kings!!

The giant question that's looming, is how does Debbie feel about it?

You are also dealing with living and breathing people on this forum. You irk me when you exercise this right you have. If you don't mind people disliking you, have at it.

There is not a person on this forum who hasn't invested as much as you have. You seem to be trying to pee people off. Now that you know some of us get irked, it is even more clear there is a deliberate attempt at pissing us off. If you think that it is only you that sees the negatives, you are arrogant beyond belief. Some of us see the negatives but also understand what is going on in the forum. We chose to stay with the positive on a day where a win is very positive. There are times for celebration. We will have plenty of time for negatives.

Pee people off? what's wrong with constructive criticism? do you see everything in black and white maybe? You are more than entitled to stay positive, I'm being a realist here and I don't let a game that the other team gave to them by the way, impair what's right in front of me. If you, or any one else for that matter don't like my debbie attitude, that's fine. I do not accept and I'm sure no one else here does either, but this whole act where I can't act how I choose is silly. Let me be miserable and swim in my own pool of negativity, I know of nothing else.

Thanks it's one of the reasons why I come here too. Sometimes I may think something about the game but then I come in here and read the analysis from other posters and it clears up the pieces I may have missed or overlooked. One time hrdboiled (sorry if I butchered your name) responded to one of my posts with a bunch of straight up facts that I couldn't even refute. Basically put me in my place and actually made me do a 180* on what I had originally thought. I'll never expect everyone to agree with everything I say but at least respond to me respectfully and don't mock me just because you don't agree with my opinion.

Aha! Good to know I may have applied facts correctly in at least one instance! :)

And I know the same has been true for me as well. Once you've been around the block a few times you start to realize that the feeling you get when you're right and the feeling you get when you only think you're right are the exact same feeling! Which is why I try to remind myself from time to time that "winning" isn't the point of an argument. The real goal of an argument is to throw your perspective out there and bounce it off of other people until hopefully everybody arrives at a conclusion which is closer to the truth than you would have ever gotten on your own. The more variance in points of view involved, the better the odds of success. I know I fall pray to the easy pleasures of sarcasm and mockery at times myself, usually in a lighthearted way I hope, but it's human nature to believe your own opinions are juuuust a bit better than everyone else's isn't it? I want people to nudge me when I'm getting out of control and snap me back to reality because sometimes I need it. And I really like reality.

I've learned a lot about basketball by watching Kings games and then coming here to get other people's takes on them or watching college games and swapping notes around draft time. Did they see the same things I did? Did they see something I didn't see? Should I admit that I'm totally off the mark or is there some valuable truth in there that others need to be persuaded toward? In fact, I'd say that most of what I know about basketball (or think I know) was developed in this way. In other words... if you don't like what I have to say Kingsfans.com, it's probably your fault. :D

PS -- You should get yourself an avatar of some kind ESP47. I find it's easier to remember past conversations with people if they have some kind of virtual "face" to go with their name. Even the goofiest screen name (guilty) can be made to feel friendly if I at least recognize the picture next to it. And all things being equal it's better to discuss, ahem, important matters with virtual friends rather than virtual strangers.

Casspi's three point shot has disappeared.
Well, his %s are indeed dropping lately, but it's much too early to mourn the demise of Omri's 3pt shooting... :)

He's currently still ranked 13th in the league this season, above names the like of Klay Thompson, Kyle Korver, Kevin Durant etc...

Its a funny thing how when you play some defense those two things go hand in hand.

Go watch a Warriors game, or a Spurs game. What you will probably see is the other team have a dozen open shots at least over the course of the game -- its impossible to challenge them all - but almost invariably their opponents miss a significant percentage of them. Why is that? Well you aren't letting them get into any rhythm. When they finally get an open shot its the first one they've seen in a while, they've been off balance and missed their last two or three shots, and they are just out of their comfort zone. They're also casting one eye over their shoulder looking for the defense which is normally there. And in short just by playing defense on the OTHER possessions you are lowering their percentages on the ones where you do not. Offensive players thrive on comfort and rhythm. Take those away and even the bunnies drop in percentage.
Bellinelli comes to mind, a wide open shot is something he rarely gets & sinks this season.
