Don't Make Me Use The Bat
We are badasses. Or at least bad. And we play kind of like *** so...

And yes, sucktatude has inspired yet another Pretty Girls Theme. If I keep this up will have to do a Pretty guys at some point I guess -- I'll take suggestions (1 per female poster to be fair). So anyway, this time it will be Pretty Girls, Errata Edition -- we had a Hot Babes thread here this summer where we selected 320 lovely ladies. But a few slipped through the cracks. So these are a few of those that got mentioned as barely missing the cut (and who have not appeared in either my Pretty Girls Theme Edition I or II). Because we are equal opportunity around here, and every pretty girl needs her time in the sun. And is going to get it if the Kings keep throwing up stinkers like this.

Garcia ( B- ) -- was off to a slow start along with everybody else in white, keyed a minirun in the second quarter, then disappeared again. Was part of our crew bringing the energy in the early third quarter, but just ran out of legs or something, and could not knock down the big threes we needed to get over the hump. Not bad as far as this one goes, but that means, oh 100% diddly considering this "effort".
heather-locklear-nude-3.jpg

Heather Locklear -- once long ago, before the plastic and sleazy boyfriends, Heather Locklear was a fresh faced cutie who would have been taken near the top of any beautiful women draft.

Hawes ( D+ ) -- too early to call this a slump? Not sure. But Spencer's shooting over the last 4 games? 5-14, 4-13, 3-9, and tonight, 3-11. Throw in that he's had one double figure rebounding game in the last 14 games...and yeah, its a slump. Early on in this one could not contend with the pace, then got caught up in it and just started chucking. Completely empty first half. Zero points. 1 reb. Nothing. Worked much better with Thompson to start the third. Jason still doing most of the work, but Hawes was assisting (sometimes literally) and providing size inside as the Knicks went from small to ridiculous, at one point playing three SFs with Tim Thomas at C. Used his size to bother Harrington a little inside, but got lit up otherwise. So F for the first half, at least something after the break, still one of his worst of the season.
image057.jpg

Erika Eleniak -- Baywatch babe turned Playboy Playmate turned 90s Grade B movie hottie, there are just so many more interesting pictures of Erika that I can't post here. Was immensely cute in Steven Seagal's only ever respectable movie (Under Siege), and less untalented than the average I'm-only-starring-in-this-because-of-my-looks hottie (see Richards, Denise for a prime example).

Miller ( F ) -- and as Geoff continues to sit on his hands in "patient" fashion, our center's trade value continues to crater. Little talked about in the midst of our other problems is how far he has regressed again this season on the glass and defense, and of course the scary question of whether this is the permanent slide due to advancing age. In any case its getting worse, whatever it is, and tonight was just awful. A couple of lumbering drives to the hoop aside was helpess in the face of the fast attack in the first quarter and stood there with his arms dangling at his sides as Knick after Knick waltzed down the lane and David Lee destroyed him on the glass. Reggie didn't even bother trying to bring him back for the third quarter, and went with Thompson instead to get some energy. Reappeared briefly to begin the 4th quarter for some unknown reason, and was actually a little better, but come on now. Our "Ivory Towers" is broke.
304jada_pinkett_smith04_jpg.jpg

Jada Pinkett Smith -- the better half of one of Hollywood's longest running power couples.

Salmons ( C- ) -- of course this game was played at his pace, so you would have thought...but no. It was briefly there in the early going when he was just about the only King doing anything, but it soon faded, and I think somewhat like Kevin, the Knicks tiny quick guard lineup caused him more problems than bigger, lumbering guys do. You can taango with Kobe, but Nate Robinson does you in? Then we tried to use him as a cooler on Harrington, and the flipside of his ability as a perimeter defender got exposed again -- he's small as a SF, and a power tweener like Harrington worked him over and put him in foul trouble. Had some moments, but just could not really get it going in the third when we briefly challenged. Like Cisco, could not hit the shot we needed, and maybe here is one of the only times the "he was tired" excuse is anything but an excuse. Possible. He worked extremely hard against Kobe down in L.A. And in an up and down game like this he just had no spark. So either he was tired...or he just sucked. I'll buy either. Oh, by the way still led us in scoring...with 14.

Brigitte Bardot -- her late life descent into chaninsmoking fascist hag may have cost her a few votes, but I said at the time I did not even know you could have a beautiful woman thread without Brigitte Bardot in it.

Udrih ( B ) -- hey hey! Look at this! Somebody who did not play awfully! Woohoo! And yet still was just Mr. Irrelevant out there in the early going, splashing in a couple of little jumpers, but mattering not at all as the Knicks' twin PGs ran by and around him and just ruined us. Had a brief spurt in the late 2nd quarter that helped us bring it back from the brink of being down 30 at half, and helped direct things during the Jason Thompson powered mighty "comeback" which brought us all the way back to only being down 12! More woohoo! Had some nice plays, was maybe the only King who seemed to realize you can drive at will against a team starting David Lee and Al Harrington as its big men, but not even close to enough to turn the tide (or tidal wave as it might be).
birch-thora-photo-thora-birch-6226442.jpg

Thora Birch -- not particularly one of mine but popular amongst many and her obvious charms are well, charming.

Greene ( B ) -- its not going to show particularly in the stats here, but watching Donte out there today I wonder if he has maybe turned a corner. A small corner. Or not -- time will tell. But he just looked much more comfortable out there, so much more settled -- certainly compared to his teammates awash in incompetence. Looked like he belonged for one of the few times this season. Did not dominate, but provided a little better competition at the pace than we were getting out of Salmons/Cisco in the first half. The three point shot...is it possible he's just not a three point shooter? Anyway, tried and bricked another. But was more willing to mix in inbetween stuff this time, and played a solid floor game as one of the few Kings who did not look rattled. Did not do much after half, but baby steps.
naomi-watts-pics.jpg

Naomi Watts -- another of the Australian beauties they routinely send out into the world (although she is kind of half-Brit), she was another surprise exclusion from the offseason babe draft.

Thompson ( B ) -- well, another one of those fall through the floor games where Jason ended up maybe being the bright point. But it was far from eprfect. In the first half did provide energy on the glass, but still got outenergied by fellow board chaser Lee, and was just unable to finish anything again, either from outside or in. So same ole same ole. But got the surprise start in the third quarter, and responded very well, becoming the real key as we made our only run of the game with board dominance. Of course it helped that D'Antoni mysteriosuly decided to throw the game and responded to Thompson's board attack by subbing out David Lee (he of the 19 rebounds) so he could bring in Tim Thomas and Jared Jeffiries? In any case, Jason's energy was the key, and it gave the rest our flatliners a little oomph there for a while. Right up to the point that Al Harrington decided to rip their little barely beating hearts right out with 11 straihgt points in about 2 minutes. Beyond the baordwork, Thompson was also contributing to a better defensive effort after half, but his offense remains ugly, and he committed another one of his open court errors, where he gets tempted to go out tryign to lead the break because he has speed and can dribble. Unfortunately his court vision and passing is not at the same level, and so it was another sloppy turnover. 11 rebs and energy = good. Another 4-12 with numerous missed jumpers and weak little missed finishes = not so good. Still maybe the best we had.
amanda_peet.jpg

Amanda Peet -- just so very cute, I almost took her myself in the draft.

Brown ( C- ) -- had his pace, but could not knock down his shots tonight. Got inside for a nice finish, but anything from outside was a brick. Amazingly the foot injury from the night before looked just fine once there were no more turnovers to explain. Still seems to have issues with other small quick players -- maybe just used to always being the smallest and the quickest, and then Nate Robinson mterializes in front of him, and what to do?

katie-holmes-sexy-scientology.jpg

Katie Holmes -- and speaking of cute, it really is a crying shame Katie decided to hook up with a creepy nutjob, because she was just emerging as a major Hollywood hottie before she slid off the deep end and got Tomed.

Moore ( B ) -- believe it or not, maybe our best big in the first half, in that he accidentally grabbed some rebounds. Don't think he returned after half, or if he did, it was just for a minute or two. Six rebounds in 9 minutes? for Mikki Moore? See? There is a silver lining! Woo to the hoo.
claire-forlani-002.jpg

Claire Forlani -- classy beauty. Kind of balances the choice coming up after the next grade.

BJax ( C- ) -- well you can say he competed in the second quarter (think he played the whole thing), which was something given the rest of the team's effort. But it was about all you could say as he did little himself. Was back for the end of the third, and I think it was during his stint that our comeback died and Harrington put this one to bed once and for all. Can't really blame that on Bobby -- Harrington is not his man. But the timing was unfortunate.
janet-jackson-picture-2.jpg

Janet Jackson -- there are a lot of not so nice things I could say about this woman, but her beauty in her prime would not be on the hit list.

Williams ( B- ) -- the forgotten man was turned to late in the first half out of desperation more than anything else, and at least he provided a little fight, getting into it with Harrington. Was a little sloppy in the garbagetime, but hit the glass and was as comeptent as anybody as our guys were almost quitting out there before Reggie called a timeout to set them straight.
talladega-nights-the-ballad-of-ricky-bobby-20060804060738880_1176308477.jpg

Leslie Bibb -- I had no idea who she was until some people got all hot and bothered about here post draft (have not seen Talladega Nights, but did remember a namless beauty from Iron Man). But since she proved so popular I thought I'd share.

Douby ( C ) -- got to play the final 7 minutes of garbagetime (and yes, this was another game where you can talk about the "final 7 minutes of garbagetime" as opposed to the first 30 minutes of it). But this time his nromal garbagetime chuck and duck approach was only spiradically effective as bricked multiple long balls and did little else.
michelle-trachtenberg-picture-1.jpg

Michelle Trachtenberg -- another beauty from the hottie factory that was Buffy and related shows, Buffy's bratty little sister is all grown up and turning heads now.

screw it...can we just forfeit the rest of the games and get to the draft and save the us the heartache?? :p

j/k, of course...but I would like to see ALOT more of the kids, bench Moore, package Douby up with Miller in a trade, and go from there...basically I'd like to just push fast forward to the offseason...in 2010 when we have $$$!

edit: I'd rather see Shelden than Mikki ANYDAY!

Sticking with Miller and Hawes for the entire first quarter was devastating. Too slow.

Once Miller was out the kids showed some good hustle.

Saddened, 7,000 miles away

I just saw this year's Kings on a dusty TV, deployed here in Kuwait... I was appalled. Has it looked like this every game? I mean, that hurt my eyes

Thank you for your service. It's a tough game. This is going to be a tough year, unfortunately, but there are some nice young players who with time will probably be very good.

Bricky, if you don't want to give out grades for this game, its fine with me. Not too many bright spots. How about the vets D- and the kids B- on pure hustle.

No, but when they've been bad they've been very, very, very, very bad...

Speaking of which, she became known several years before Talladega Nights on "Popular", a WB show. It also brought us Carly Pope as her brunette rival - add her to your research list. ;)

Solid advice. Carly was one of my leftovers.

Thanks, Brick. A very timely cute babe theme. It has given me strength to watch the next few blowouts, err...games. :)
