All in all though, this team is in a much, much, better place than it was 14 months ago. It is even in a better place than it was at the beginning of the season.
In what possible f'ing way are we in a better place than at the start of the season?

Ugh...yes it does.

Let's try to make our points without resorting to personal attacks, shall we?

Probable chance they get to keep the pick? I feel for the STH, I'm only on the hook for league pass.you say that as if there's evidence to support such an argument...
So we can pick another guy and put him through a season of trade rumors?Probable chance they get to keep the pick? I feel for the STH, I'm only on the hook for league pass.
Problem as I see it is there's zero intention to debate and attempt to back up an opinion. Some have pretty outlandish views, but at the least they attempt to back it up. One-liners rarely help discussion.Honestly your shtick has gone far beyond "respecting different perspectives". When 99% of the board disagrees with every post you make, something doesn't add up.

Chubbs - So we can pick another guy and put him through a season of trade rumors?
Done it to two straight lottery picks.
Are there any more NBA ready SGs out there we could waste a pick on?
Padrino - i certainly don't count that as a positive. as long as that pick remains encumbered, the kings will not be able to package immediate first-rounders in mid-season trade scenarios, and given the premium that all teams are placing on first rounders under the new CBA, this puts the kings at a distinct disasvantage on the trade market. i'd rather they just get it over with; make a run at the playoffs, convey the pick to chicago, and free up future first-rounders for trade bait. the kings need to get better in a hurry if they want a winner in time for the opening of the new arena, and adding more rookies to the pile won't serve the pressures of that goal...

I've gotta ask. Is Reggie Evans on his last NBA legs or what? Has his defense always been this bad? He just kills the team out there. He has zero discernible offensive skills, his defense is an F. He had as much chance of guarding Bosh as I do. What does he do exactly? He's just in the way out there. No one should ever under any circumstances should pass him the ball.
One could argue that we miss Landry even more than Rudy cause of how incredibly awful Evans is all around. All he can do is grab a rebound, and even then, it's an adventure seeing him try to maintain possession.
At the beginning of the season, this was the last year on Rudy's contract. An inflated contract as well all know. We now have him for a longer period at a much more reasonable price.
I think we all know what this team looks like without Rudy. Having the core 3 signed for a few years is a big deal. Indeed, we are in a better place than we were at the beginning of the season.
Now we simply need a few more players to help the core 3.
If this team drives Cousins out, I'm done. And I hope the team explodes/moves/whatever. I'll still have all my memories with my Grandfather. The team's existence doesn't depend on that. We'll get a soccer team or something.

Come on man. We've been in much worst shape with the Malloofs run this place. Why not give the guys that saved this team a chance?
When you're extremely short-sided and narrow-minded in your viewpoint and block all else out, I guess so. Maybe. Probably not.So it's a success because the front office fooled Rudy Gay?
Ugh...yes it does.whozit said:And? Intelligence and common sense don't always go hand in hand
Let's get clear on one thing: VIVEK RANADIVE did not save this team THE FANS and KEVIN JOHNSON saved this team. We had buyers LINING UP to buy the Kings. Burkle was waiting in the wings, who is much richer than Vivek. We also had a buyer group in place ready to buy the Kings the didn't include Ranadive. He came on late in the game.
Don't get me wrong, we were all happy to have him, but he did NOT save this team.
For you to state such a thing shows you know absolutely nothing about the history of this team and further proves your status as a fraud/plant.

I get what you are saying, but I think Vivek actually deserves a little more credit than that. We needed somebody with sufficient gravitas to overcome the huge Seattle bid and the appeal of Seattle as a market. Mastrov couldn't do it alone or he would not have brought in Vivek to be Chairman. It was more than just gathering money - Vivek brought a little more than that. With his NBA 3.0 stuff, his India stuff, he did play a big role in "saving the Kings". Not bigger than Mayor Johnson, but second biggest I think.
That's why I want him to sacrifice Pete D'Alessandro to save himself. We need Vivek - we need to be able to like him and back him. So he needs to repent of his sins, surrender PDA, stay in the background on basketball operations stuff.... and we can all live happily ever after.
I see what you're saying, but I put the fans efforts WAAAY above Ranadive. We would have attracted any number of other buyers to get a deal done. There was no way the NBA was leaving Sacramento with the arena deal we had put together (done by KJ, and the city, i.e. the fans). As long as we simply had a competitive bid. We did not need his gravitas. Other potential owners would have showed their special shine if put in that position. There was a stable of them lining up.
