Much as I hate to be taking Vivek's side right now, or countering your point because I generally see eye t0 eye with you and I can't say that about so very many people ... would you go ahead and name some of the stable you refer to?

The vote was only 22-8. 7 votes from oblivion, and again... we know Mastrov wanted the team bad - he had bid before. If he only needed to scratch up a few bucks, he would have - and he would be chairman. I don't think it is fair to deny Vivek a substantial share of credit for 'saving the team'. He worked hard, presented well, came up with the dough... come on give the guy a little credit.
I like this. While it may be true that all the "others" set it up so Vivek had the opportunity to step in at the last moment, he did step in and in a big way. His off court stuff has been great. Even the increase in ticket prices is an understandable evil if it wasn't for the basketball side of the operations having mucked everything up and doing it grand fashion.

So it's a success because the front office fooled Rudy Gay? Well, I guess that's where we've sunk to.

I am about 99.994% positive that Gay would not be here without Malone. The chemistry he developed with Cousins over the summer, in addition to what he saw (and what we saw) from Malone was worth it for him to say, "Hey, Sac is turning the corner! I want in."

Hell, they barely let the ink dry on Gay's contract before canning Malone.

This story needs to be retold so that those fans who wonder about the intense anger get it. There is a huge slime factor in upper management. I hope the FO feels a need to make up for it but I have seen nothing as of yet. A nice start would be an "I'm sorry" or something of that nature. Unfortunately they are tone deaf (love that phrase) and instead raise the price of tickets and ask us to help globalize the NBA. They don't seem to have a clue that they are pushing some fans further and further away.

Even if it was 17-13, there were political reasons for people voting for Ballmer's group... but they did so knowing they'd never be part of the owners who voted the Kings out of town when there was an arena deal and a viable owner group. My argument is that this was by FAR the driving factor: that we had a sweetheart of an arena deal in place, and huge fan support.

I know it may not be the published storyline, but I strongly believe playing the actual part of ownership was simply plug n play, and could have been filled by an number of viable options. So I don't put much weight in the 8 votes "against" us. I think they largely wanted to kiss Ballmer's ass.

As for the owners... Weber was lining up a group, Mastrov could have done it himself (I don't buy for a second that he didn't have the "clout"). All we needed was a baseline of financial viability in any number of ownership groups. Some people don't like to make a show of it, but look who we have now... some VERY big names in Silicon Valley, and I do not believe at all that they are all just toting behind Vivek. We made him the poster child, and that's simply a role, but he was never the catalyst, savior, driving force... he was just icing that made it a bit more comfortable for some owners to vote no.

It's the conning of Rudy Gay that makes me extremely angry.

How do you figure?
Because knowledge and wisdom are not related to each other. It's like saying that someone with a high IQ also has street smarts; maybe he does, and maybe he doesn't. The notion that intelligence and common sense are inherently interrelated is so absurd that it can't be taken seriously.

Indeed, haven't you ever played Dungeons and Dragons and rolled up that high intelligence/low wisdom master wizard with sloppy impulse control?? :D

er....:oops::oops:

Let's be honest. Nobody is gonna check this thread for the grades. Just post the girls for those who are interested and forget the rest.
I'm halfway tempted to volunteer for the Consortium, just so that I can have some input into these Girls. Second time this season I have come away feeling very underwhelmed about the selections.

I think that Bricklayer looked at our early schedule and had a lot of girls lined up for the grades.
When we got off to the hot start...he didn't have the opportunity to use them.

The Consortium didn't get any input into the girls this time around.
Though my guess is that by mid-March we will probably have played poorly enough to blown through his list and start getting some input ourselves. :D

Maybe they aren't the same thing, but I still think there is a very strong correlation between the two.

I have gone from watching every game to just reading about it the next day....:(
Management has ruined our BB viewing experience. It's no fun to watch this stuff they're putting out.

It's really getting frustrating now. The reason to fire Malone, was to finally install some kind of NBA offense, besides handing the ball to DMC.
This didn't happen, leaving us with a still offensively challenged team, relying on it's superstar at all costs, not even getting him into position to score an easy basket most of the time. Furthermore our defensive mindset, which really was the essence of Malone's coaching, faded away.
We are still terrible on offense and worse on defense.
I'm sick of it. At some point we got to realize that we demand too much of DMC. Yes he is a franchise player, but he can't do it all alone and be effective doing it.
Just stop - man up on defense and finally run an offense, that comes close to NBA level for gods sake.
How about hiring an NBA caliber head coach?

next season... next season. you just need to endure another 40 games

Anyone can gain knowledge. Pick up a book.

Wisdom can't be checked out at the library.
Knowledge can create wisdom. For example, the phrase "history repeats itself". Having knowledge of history gives you more wisdom in regards to the future.

You'd like to think that, wouldn't you?

Knowledge can create wisdom. For example, the phrase "history repeats itself". Having knowledge of history gives you more wisdom in regards to the future.
So with the knowledge that "pace" means so little in regards to success in the NBA and that often times the team with the highest pace are among the most non-competitive teams in the league, as any NBA historian will tell you, there isn't much wisdom in putting something such as "pace" at the top of one's priorities, is there?

Which of course would mean that while knowledge can create wisdom, many times it in fact does not, as we're seeing here in Sac and as you keep providing evidence of with your incorrect musings. If this forum allowed political talk, I could create a tidal wave of evidence showing just how wrong you are.
