Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Yikes. Nobody outtanks the Kings. NOBODY. Grrrrrrrr!

And yeah, I held off on the Pretty Girls against the Rockets. But really now. My hands are tied. No choice. No alternative.

Pretty Girls: The Girls Who Will Never Be Seen Because Everybody Checked Out on This Game Edition

Fs will come...

Nocioni ( C ) -- missed his first couple of shots, but hit a continuation, and about the only King not badly losing his individual battle in the early going (albeit to Fred Jones, who was out of the league to start the year and used to play PG, but was now at SF). But could not shoot, and it was bricks away in the second quarter on his way to a 1-6 first half. Looked noticeably grumpy about the whole humiliation and in the second half was banging around pretty well on the glass, but never had any impact on this oen. Which still put him a cut above most of his teammates who's impact was flat negative. Well..that may not be entirely true. Noc did have the positive impact this time of just not being Donte Greene.
nude_sexy_celebrity_1.jpg

Amy Smart -- a popular actress for a long time now, it was harder than you might think to find a good pic of her for this thread. One that was sexy, but not overglammed and that kept all her Amy Smartness intact.

Thompson ( D ) -- had a nice quick finish inside off a good Beno pass, but quickly got in foul trouble against a super-energized Brian Skinner of all people. After returning in the second briefly gave us a little push on the glass before he was back to the bench with fouls as Skinnerman pummeled him (17pts 7reb at half!!). Picked up his 4th against the unstoppable mulithued goatee in the 3rd, but we were down 26 at that point and Natt just let him play. In fact this is the first of a numebr of guys who as bad as it looks in the boxscore, as bad as the descripion sounds. It was even worse, because we padded their numbers up by playing them all the way down to the final buzzer long after the Clippers had inserted their scrubs...well their even scrubbier scrubs. Jason did a couple of things himself, he clearly wanted to play -- its not that he is not trying. But the Clippers identified him as such a weak link on defense that they were literally running clearouts for Brian bleeping Skinner (career scoring average 4.9ppg) in the post against him, and Skinner just pummeled him to a near career game (and would have had it had not the Clippers taken mercy on us -- not many teams have the Clips take mercy on them). Jason is one of our few encouraging signs this season, but defensively he might be the worst starting PF in the NBA right now.
jenna-dewan-07.jpg

Jenna Dewan -- you probably don't know Jenna Dewan. You really, really should. Got introduced to her recently myself in somne grade B horror flick called "Tamara" where their solution to the predictable "ugly girl cleans up and turns gorgeous" was to have Jenna not wear any makeup during the first 30 minutes. Yeah, like that's going to work on that face.

Hawes ( D- ) -- OUCH. Really a pretty inexplicable game on a lot of levels. 24 hours after putting up a more than credible 22-11 against Yao Ming, Spencer was just awful from the opening tip. In fact, much as Natt is an idiot and all that, I think you have to give him a lot of credit for his handling of Specne tonight, because he kept on encouraging him, kept on reinserting him, and while it blatantly padded the awful stats, he played him right down to the final buzzer just letting him get a feel for some sort of success. But regardless of Natt's soft touch on this one, Specner was just off, as in OFF. Outclassed by Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman from the opening tip and missed just everything. Missed his jumpers, missed tips, and that huge wart he has of playing soft and never drawing fouls meant he couldn't make any of it up at the line. Then by the time he finally got there in the...late 3rd or early 4th? Forget exactly. he was so far off that he even bricked both of those. The only thing that went in for him were a couple of follow jams. Now there is a lot of defensive length inside for the Clippers (not that until this game you would have ever known it this year), but Specner was just wildly off from the perimeter as well, so its not as if it was all the interior shotblocking intimidation of the Camby/Kaman duo. As I mentioend, we played him forever in this one. 40 minutes right down to the buzzer in a game that may not have been under 20 in the entire second half. So the numbers are inflated, but not by lack of competition -- with the Clips styarting Camby, and then bringing Kaman off the bench they had basically two starting centers going the full 48 for them. Even in 40 minutes you might look at Spencer's 13 rebs and go, well at least he was pretty good there. Until you look at his opponet's and realize that in their combined moinutes, Camby and Kaman pretty muchh doubled him up with 24 rebounds. Anyway this was bad, ugly, stinky and a bunch of other words. But I'm going to seize on the boards as reason to dodge the F here, and I do think this was so bad that its probably a one time freaky thing -- it was just way out of line with what he's been giving us of late.
robin-tunney-picture-1.jpg

Robin Tunney

Cisco ( F ) -- This was another one of those players where we playued him and we played him and we played him. He had nothing, and we played him anyway. We kept on playing him right ot the bitter end, and even after racking up 38 minutes of time, and half of it in extended garbagetime, he still couldn't reach double figures. Meanwhile the man across from him, rookie Eric Gordon, put up 20, when Cisco tried to bring the ball up Baron pounced on him like a lion pounces on a blind three legged wildebeast, and he joined the teamwide brickfest with his own 4-12, missing all his three point shots, his only FT, and other than a couple of nice passes early, getting absolutely nothing accomplished. I think its high time I get the Fs going here -- this probably should be the third in a row but I was in a better mood wiht the young bigs and am getting progressively grumpier the longer I have to stare at that obscene boxscore against the erstwhile worst team in the NBA (we got that crown now -- woohoo).

Udrih ( B ) -- every unkind word any member of this forum has ever said about Beno Udrih needs to be retracted now. Or at least until such point as we are playing anybody except teh L.A. Clippers. This is, I am convinced, the reason the Clippers wanted Beno last offseason -- same thing we have rather stupidly done in the past. Guy has your numebr, whips you more than any other team, so you think , wow, he's good, and try to grab him yourself. Makes no sense of course -- if you are the only team that he whips, and then you take him onto your team, then who is he supposed to whip? But there it is. In any case, Beno was by so far and away our best player in this game it was not funny (it really wasn't). and he was not by any stretch great. In fact early on, it looked like Baron had apparently gotten tired of being treated like Beno's chewtoy, because he came out in this one determined to dominate and Beno had no early answers. But Beno was kind of the first and only King to wake up and led us on mini-run in the mid 2nd to get the lead back down to 25 (yes, you heard that right) with a series of little pullup jumpers. This was against little Mike Taylor, whom he had confidence against. Well, offensive confidence at least -- while Baron overpowered Beno on defense, Taylor just blew by and around he and BJax. In any event Beno finished the first half as our only player to score more than 4 points (he had all of 10), and that was what had to pass as our point of light. Came up with a nifty stop and spin baseline move in the 3rd again as our only player doing anything, but obviously did not remotely change momentum in this one, and had no teammates with whom to lead a charge. Yet another one of the players that Natt just played into the ground in this one, racking up over 43 minutes because we bizarrely cut one of our backup PGs this week, and the other, BJax, looked 75 years old out there.
Dana-Davis-3.jpg

Dana Davis -- lately of Heroes apparently

Bjax ( D ) -- picked Baron on one play for a brief point of early light, but was not hitting his shots. A little hustle but no effectiveness at all after returning in the 3rd. At least laid off the ridiculous 3pt chucking, but missed everything anyway, so the result was the same. Was one of the only guys talking and apparently trying to play defense, but could not remotely stay in front of his men.
aff4467ag6.jpg

Judy -- Judy who you might ask? I know I did. And...I don't know. A new model in Ireland who's pic I happened to stumble across, and she just went by...Judy. But frankly she can call herself Snotty Toecheese for all I care. She's still gorgeous.

Greene ( F ) -- there was just no real excuse for this one. Got set up for several good looks in the early going, but missed open shot after open shot and just kept on chucking his way to an 0-7 first half, 0-4 fromt 3pt land. As usual contributed in no other categories, and then seemed to think it was funny as he sat over ont eh ebnch enjoying himself. Two games ago it looked like a step forward, and then this, which pretty much was a microcasm of all the things that have gone wrong with his rookie season. Can't shoot, one dimesnional, and its just not clear he's a serious pro yet. Has a lot of work to do this summer. Needs a mentor I think.
HyoriLee.jpg

Lee Hyori -- Korean pop princess and all around sex symbol

McCants ( C ) -- ineffective in his first half stint, and short minutes too. I was/am begining to wonder about is he physically right? These last 3 or 4 games just has not seemed to have that same spark. Came back in late in the game and looked better, attacking offensively and eventually getting to double figures in points in only 12 minutes. No real contributions in other areas though, and why he would only play 12 minutes in a massacre like this I cannot answer.
231632.jpg

Brett Hollands -- this time I took the simple approach and jsut went with one of the top male models of the moment. Pretty boy of course. But then again, this is a Pretty Girls thread, so why not a Pretty Boy?

Diogu ( B ) -- in what is almost surely destined to end up as the highlight of the Ike Diogu era in Kings history, it got so bad so quickly for us in this one that by the end of the first quarter Natt went to Ike in desperation to match up with Kaman. As you might imagine, that didn't go so great. But after Jason quickly picked up #3, Ike was back to try to slow the Brian Skinner express, and that was a much better physical battle as the second quarter wound down. Despite Jason's foul trouble, Ike was back in for Spencer instead late in the 3rd with Hawes stugling so so mightily. Even stepped back and hit the famous Ike Diogu three at the end of the third. Woohoo! But one should not confuse a solid looking boscore here wiht truly solid play. Had major trouble finishing over Skinner/Camby/Kaman, and his boards were pretty much all him grabbing his own misses and trying to convert. He put a body on guys, but did not really stop them nor keep them off the glass. Worse yet, he was stealing minutes from Boothman, who clealry would have been our only hope in this one had he been allowed to play. But on this sad evening, such flaws faded into the background with Ike Diogu outperforming anybody else in our entire frontcourt. Or backcourt save Beno.

funny i was sitting right next to this guy, and i was wearing the same jersey... too bad its also the clippers colors... I think only Kevin Martin remembers these jerseys....

anyway I was in the 1st row, and let me tell ya... Beno's defense is much worse live and up close. I've never seen a Kings game this close but i've seen many and it tells ya alot more about the players... Like for example Hawes is still a tad too slow/weak to do his thing around the basket... he needs to keep up the offseason workouts... its funny cause JT is too fast(duh)...but Hawes and JT are gonna be fine NBA players... they looked good despite a terrible game, but you could see the effort, and although they may not be all-stars they will find a balance and be good.

anyway Noc is just a mean mutha F@$! thats for real... too be honest I could feel his hatred of this team just being so close to him... He's really frustrated with everything about being here.... he would sit by himself during timeouts, funny but the only player that talked to him was Beno but too be totally honest I think he wants to kill Beno... If we have another season like this im sure he will. But no question he plays hard. everybody had a lame game but he is a mean Mutha.

Rashad McCants is special, like could be an all-star special....but clearly not a character guy(hence why hes in sactown) I was sitting next to his point man that was tending to his "girl of the night"... I was able to actually read some of Rashad McCants friends text messages and im not a prude my any means but WOW...

Donte is an absolute clown... all game just playing around... smiling/jokes... hes a good guy we all kinda know that and are drawn to it... but EYE OF THE TIGER DONTE! this guy needs to get real and serious... I read an article with a few GM's take on Donte and they all agreed that this guy needs to get ANGRY AND FIERCE! in order to make it... EYE OF THE TIGER! he like rocky needs to want it more... like life or death... life isn't a joke!

I might write more l8er but im going out to celebrate 25% chance!

LOL what'd he say?

It looks like it is not appropriate for our board.

Maybe it's appropriate for my pm box?:o

To be honest I only want to know because I'm curious as to whether he's a sick disturbed freak or they were just messing around. Because if he's the first one, I don't think I want him back on this team next year.

Ike Diogu should get an A just for hitting a three.

btw he was BIG time practicing it before the game it was actually one of my highlights.... he took at least 20 shots from the same side 3pt shot. before the game started.

Horrible game. My biggest disappointment was Donte. Were down 30 plus at the half and before the start of the second half, with most of the other players looking quite somber, he was joking and laughing. Later during the late second half, a camera shot showed him sitting on the bench and laughing about something.

This dude needs to grow up and realize that this is his livelyhood and not just a game. He's not going to endear himself to his teammates, or the fans with that kind of attitude. I know he's young, and I'm cutting him some slack because of it. I was an idiot when I was his age. On the other hand, I wasn't being paid his big bucks. Right now, he's driving down the wrong side of the road going in the right direction. He just needs to change lanes.

Beautiful article from the Associated Press (uncommon wit):

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Both the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers will have a chance to land the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft.

The Kings played like they wanted it more.

I can understand why. The dude has absolutely no touch around the basket. No post game at all, other than powering his way back to the basket. The irony is that he's a pretty good rebounder. I don't think he's a keeper, unless to use just as a rebounder and a defender.

It's more than just changing lanes.

I assume this is from last night's Clippers game? I was at the game. You would be suprise to see that there were actually a good number of Kings fans in LA. I walked by and counted 5 guys with Kevin Martin jerseys. I even saw 1 guy with an Abdur Rahim jersey. A lot of people with KINGS t-shirts. They put a couple shots of guys with Kings T-shirts on the overhead big screen so the clippers fans can boo them. But I was suprise myself to see that many Kings fans in LA also.

They're all Kings fans down there in Los Angeles anyway. ;)
