Hmm...mostly close game, then slow lengthening into blowout type numbers by the end...to Pretty Girl, or not to Pretty Girl, that is the question...

all things will be resolved in time...

Edit: to Pretty Girl! :D Made easier since yes, a poster who has foolishly revealed his presence in this thread did indeed PM a pretty girl request a month or so ago, about the time of the Nocioni led Great Pretty Girl Theme Die Off (for which Noc shall forever burn in the netherworld). And I have another partially completed list of my own so, while I'm reasonably sure that we've got a couple more blowouts left in us, the end of the seaosn is drawing close now, and I would hate to leave any Pretty Girl unturned by the end of it. So yes, Aleksander, Pretty Girls: College Edition, from that link you sent me.

Special Note: these girls are all part of a nationwide college girls calendar series, with 100% of proceeds dedicated to breast cancer research (note the logo in the top right of the pics). So its all for a good cause, which is of course what the Pretty Girls themes are always all about. Just doing our part and spreading the good word.

Cisco ( D+ ) -- on the first possession of the game he came up with a block on Wallace, before being overpowered on the follow. The overpowered part would go ont o be the story of the night ratehr than the block, as Gerald just barreled over and through him all night long. Set McCants up nicely for back to back 3pt attempts in the mid 2nd quarter, but was offensively inept himself. Played the entire first half on the shorthanded team and complained after the game of fatigue. Missed and missed and missed some more in the 3rd, but would not quit taking shots. Some of them werre good, some bad. A lot of open little jumpers, but hit nothnig. Predictably did the oh so tired and slightly dangerous Cisco charge in t he 4th, all of a sudden hitting his shots in the early quarter and getting into it a bit with Gerald before going quietly into the night with a 7-21 shooting performance. Meanwhile Gerald was just plain nasty wiht 25 and 12. I'll throw a plus on this just for the late faux charge.

Christina - University of Wisconsin -- yes, because as everyone well knows, you want to find hot babes, you go to Wisconsin.

Thompson ( B+ ) -- was one of two players, along with McCants, who largely carried us in the first half. Pretty much just a mop up man this time out, but did a much better job against the as always wildly inconsistent Boris Diaw than last time (Diaw killed him the first game), and then of course had no problems at all outhustling Radmanovic. Did not challenge big Diop, but passed out of his presence solidly. Was a constant pain for the Cats, who dominated the glass against everyone but Jason. Diaw's incompetence might have had a lot to do with tt too, as even Donte got inside him to the hoop, while when Okafor moved over onto Jason the fun suddelny stopped. Slowed down in the third, and began to lose his cool and get overconcerend with the refs again as he disappeared entirely in the 4th. I stayed with the B+ here for being a steady big man presence through most of this, although the late fade maybe argued B.
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-455.jpg

Casey Carlson - University of Minnesota -- and if Wisconsin was not cold enough for you, to find Casey you have to traipse all the way up to Minnesota. Which, alas, means she almost never gets to wear this bikini. Which just sucks.

Hawes ( F ) -- ok. This was just bleeping horrid. No idea why It just was. Soft and weak and completely ineffectual -- I knew as soon as I noted Spencer's hot streak before last game that I was setting him up for one of his inconsistent falls, but jeesh. Not remotely physical enough to defense to keep Okafor from getting whatever he wanted to, and was just forcing up junk on offense. A complete nothing first half for no apparent reason -- the Cats are not big inside. Just a wipeout -- 0-3, 3fls, 0rebs 0 anything in 11+ minutes. Was ever so slightly more competitve in the early third, and added both of his 2 assists on the night during that little stretch, but then foul trouble largely took him out of the game, and you have to believe the Cats were as pissed at the refs as Spencer was (Spencer contribted a nice technical late in the game just to complete his night) that he was being taken out of the game. On the night, 25+ minutes. 6 fouls. 2 points. ZERO rebounds. How do you play 25+ minutes at 7'0'' tall and grab zero rebounds? When you're taller than the man guarding you, and the other team runs two blown up SFs (Diaw and Radmanovic) at PF? Like I said -- horrid.
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-256.jpg

Mandy - Florida Gulf Coast University -- now see this is more the sort of place you are supposed to find pretty bikini girls -- did not even know there was such a place as "Florida Gulf Coast University". I'm betting its in Florida. Probably over on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. And now thanks to Mandy, its all of a sudden looking like a hot destination.

McCants ( A- ) -- well well, what do we have here? Got off to the slow start, but eventually came on so strong as to pretty much completely replace Kevin for one night. Occasionally drew Wallace in the early going, and while he had the strength to keep Wallace off the post, he got dominated on the the glass (he replaced Kevin in more ways than one, coming up with all of 1reb and 1 ast to go with his 30 points. In the early going was ineffective on the other end as well as Bell had him good and wrapped up. But came to life in the second quarter with Bell getting the long icing from his own coach, and never quieted back down. In the third kicked Bell's butt, as well as any other Bobcat to get close to him, and was just too phsyical inside and hot from the perimeter. Took on all comers, with an attitude. Kept on bombing into the 4th, as he kept us close despite anything Bell could do. Cooled off as the 4th progressed though, and then sprained his ankle for good measure down the stretch to assure that he did not beat his career high (which is 34). Still a big game, and this is the quandry of McCants. He's a tough guy, he's got a 'tude that properly guided could make him a great competitor. He's undersized and limited to SG, but very strong and able to hold position in there against much bigger players. He's also bordering on selfish, looks to have no PG potential whatsoever, and the 'tude can spill in the wrong direction. What to do? Tonight the answer was give him the ball and get out of the way.

Lindsay - University of Florida -- and it is amusing how many of the ladies in this series come from UofF. Do they even have classes down there? Or does everybody just go to the beach all day and study Bikinis 101?

Udirh ( C- ) -- aggressive offensively early and scoring the bulk of our points. That often meant a lot of one on one dribbling to his spots, but he also took time to set up guys like Jason, who was largely back to being just a hustle roleplayer looking t be set up for dunks. As always though wiht Beno, its not just game to game inconsistency, its quarter to quarter inconsistency. he goes through spells where he looks like he can get anything he wants. And then he goes through spells where he completely disappears. Or worse yet, appears in all the wrong ways. Missed layups and had several of his feeds lead to msised layups as well in the third (not on him obviously). Did hit a key corner three to try to hold us close late in the quarter, but that was the very last we heard of him, in any way you would want o be heard of of course. Defense was not terrible tonight. Felton got by him a few times, but never anything dominant. And he actually did a decent job cutting off guys on switches. Most of our defensive problems tonight were with the interior guys.
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-424.jpg

Damaris - University of Miami -- not wanting to be outcompeted by its instate rival, Miami of course contributed one of its own.

Greene ( D+ ) -- okay, with half the team out, Donte got the minutes and basically WAS the bench (from these ultra short roations it can only be concluded that Natt either has absolutely no confidence in most of the 15 man roster or is just desperately desperately trying to win one now). But he's got to actually DO something with those minutes at some point. He's young, so its not fair to judge anything absolutely or anything, but there is no rule that says that Donte has to pan out and be a long time NBAer -- he's got to show it on the court. And tonight he just looked overmatched. Came in and imemdaitely chucked, and hit a three. Then of course immediately chucked a second, and missed. Ran a good break though with the dropoff to Cisco for the finish. Grabbed a couple of boards, but mostly just threw up shots as fast as he could like it was summer league and he was the #1 option. After returning for Spencer (foul trouble) in the third, immediately sliced inside for a dunk. Had a sloppy sloppy tunrover down the stretch of the third as the Cats opend it back up and got his butt handed to him badly down the stretch on defense by Gerald -- just overmatched. May want to take a break from trashing veterans' cars longs enough to read some scouting reports too -- turns out Vladimir Radmanovic is a 3pt shooter. Who knew? Actually ended up the night as our #2 rebounder, but that is only because we were just pathetic on the glass. Right now remains an odd player -- every few minutes will make a spectacular play that lasts in your miind and disguises the fact that between the spectacular plays he does almsot nothing at all. He's like a guy who scores 30 once a month, and then never breaks double figures until the next 30pt game the next month. Hard to figure. But those 30 pt outbursts would be what you cling to, and right now the occasional spectacular play is the hope -- if he could just bottle those plays and do that stuff with consistency...
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-255.jpg

Megan - University of South Florida -- for those who like them curvy, Megan is all that. And of course another girl allegedly going to classes at those fine Flroida institutes of higher learning.

Booth ( B- ) -- everybody prepare yourselves for the hottest sequel of the spring -- Boothman returns! You cannot stop Calivn, you can only hope to contain him. Worst thing the Cats in the early going did was get Spencer off the floor to have to face this terror. Exploded early, converting twice around the hoop, and grabbing many many (okay, 2) rebounds in the early going, and you were thinking repeat domination! Woohoo! Unfortunately thereafter began to suffer from a disorder normally referred to as "being Calvin Booth". His minutes got empty (perhaps no surprise given his likely exhaustion after having to play 9 minutes in a half, which he may not have done since the Clinton administration), and he did not return until garbagetime (more his comfort zone).
atsGraceMcD-1.jpg

Grace McDaniels -- The Mule Faced Woman -- hey, you have to honor the Boothman right? A famous carnival freak from the early 20th century, Grace was born with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, a degenerative disorder that caused her face to become progressively more and more distorted until she could barely speak.

Solomon ( B- ) -- aggressive in a shortish first half stint, but a little less brainless gunning this time. Kept on letting Bobcats' pick and rolls seperate him from his man Augustin, which isn't a good idea given Augustin's range. Still, played a decent enoguh few minutes that that being basically it was surprising. On a night when we are shrothanded, Natt actually cut his minutes BACk to only the one 5 minute stint and basically played with 6 guys? Odd.
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-49.jpg

Krystal - University of California at Berkley -- here's a Pac 10 selection for all you Northern California types. Brains and beauty? A few of you may even be going to school with Krystal. But then again you would have already have been aware of that right?

Diogu ( INC ) -- nice post move in garbagetime -- but most importantly he played!
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-108.jpg

Courtney - Auburn University -- Courtney goes to Auburn...its never too late to transfer!

Larry Brown ( F ) -- still a slimewad
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-11.jpg

Mia - Ohio State University -- hey, Larry deserved that comment Mia or no Mia. But there being a Mia certainly helped.

Gerald Wallace ( A ) -- just goes out there and attacks. Physical, explosive, fearless. Went down again. Got up and played through pain. Sure am glad we don't have that guy. I much prefer scrawny floppers and finesse bigmen.
Campus-Girls-Swimsuit-Calendar-107.jpg

Natalie - Louisiana State University -- well, Gerald deserved that comment too, but squeezing in one last girl was a nice side reward. Were too many good choices to pick from, but in the end I decided to just get on wiht it and added this very cute belle. Well, maybe a belle. for all I know she could be from Kamshatka. But of course who intentionally goes to Lousiana (other than for Mardi Gras) who is not from there? Certainly not many Kamshatkans I would think.

My vote? Booth. Someone that ugly should be cheered at least once in his life.

since people keep talking about booths ugliness why not do top 10 ugliest people? Or has that been done already? Haha

It is about time. Damn you Noc! Also Casey was on American Idol this year. Too bad she did not make it. She had the most talent.

 Speechless! Good...err...pictures *ahem* ..

Gerald Wallace ( A ) -- just goes out there and attacks. Physical, explosive, fearless. Went down again. Got up and played through pain. Sure am glad we don't have that guy. I much prefer scrawny floppers and finesse bigmen.

While Gerald Wallace is explosive, physical, etc. I'm more concerned than ever about his future in the NBA...or life. After seeing the tragedy of Natasha Richardson, I immediately thought of Gerald and his numerous concussions. Guys like Troy Aikman and Steve Young retired because of too many boinks to the head, and they wear helmets. Wallace seems hellbent on proving he's indestructible and I cannot hope but pray he doesn't break his head and all of Charlotte's hearts by taking yet another spill and causing some kind of irreversible damage.

I know all athletes take a certain amount of risk but Wallace just seems to want to continue to push the envelope. His comment last night that he wouldn't go to the hospital to have the knee checked out just seems incredibly reckless for a player upon whom a franchise is counting to help get them into the playoffs and beyond...

Games like this make it more apparent that a veteran "big" is needed to provide some stability and consistency in the middle and maybe even some defense while the kids learn the ropes. Whether Booth is that guy, and he still has some hops and ability, I'll bet he can bring consistency defending the middle.

The main problem with other teams doing layup drills on the Kings and it was highlighted vs. Bobcats (and more so vs. Hawks) that the 3-4-5 players don't rotate quickly or at all to defend the middle and are always too late to do anything or they use their hands to defend and consequently all the fouls. Both Hawes and JT have quick feet. Is the problem them or coaching or both? Maybe both Hawes and JT have hit the wall. Hawes did not play this much last year by a long shot. I think he HAS hit the wall too!! And no other big to back them up other than vet Booth. Wish Diogu would step up.

Also player movement only happens in spurts (tired bigs?). Same for passing 2-3-4 times to get better shot. I saw good passing maybe 3-4 times the whole game. The rest of the time McCants was dribbling for his own shot. Beno can only be as good as the player movement allows therefore not many assists. The Bobcat game, like the 2-3 before it, were winnable games for the Kings. Somehow the hustle disappears the last 5 min of a game and so does the player movement and defensive rotations. That's a lot things that are not happening. Gotta start pointing at the coaches.
