I give it an A

Got a potential superstar in Evans to play beside Martin. (I think Evans has the size to play 1-3)
We got some youth and flare with tha spanish chocolate.
We got some competition for Donte Green with Casspi on the squad now.
We got a leader/Bruiser/Banger/Rebounder/Friend of Hawes for our 38th in Jon Brockman.

Alot of positives in this draft, you've done well Petrie.

You putting up a poll?

If no poll then I give it what it deserves in my mind which is an F.

Reason being we didn't really address any needs with our picks. We drafted a SG to play behind a 40mpg SG. We got a player that's not even going to be here next season..

I like Brockman though.. He's my favorite of the three picks by far.

I give it a C at this point in time. I need to see the full scope of the work but at this point I'm not super impressed.

I liked Tyreke at #4, even though I would still prefer Rubio. I would prefer to see Evans migrate back to the #2, and we make a move to sign Sessions and then trade KMart + KT + Filler for an extended Chris Bosh.

I don't know much about Omri, I hope he turns out to be a solid rotation player...
Jon Brockman I can't see making an impact, but I hope for the best with the guy.

Somewhere between a C and D. I like that we got Sergio and Casspi, Brockman over Mills was bad. Tyreke over Rubio I also disagree strongly with, however if somehow there are complications with Rubio being able to come over this year then I'd be willing to maybe go B.

I give it a D.

* I think Evans was a good pick, but it doesn't address a need. I woulda taken Rubio at 4.
* Casspi at 23 again doesn't address a need outside of general toughness. That's an admirable goal since the Kings have been weak for far too long, but there were too many other good players still on the board, including point guards.
* Brockman is a waste of a pick.
* I like the Sergio trade. Good move.

So overall: some good players, but didn't really address any of the team's needs very well. And for that reason, I'm downgrading what would have otherwise been a C to a D.

Are you STILL going with this angle? Do you really think we drafted Evans to be a backup to Kevin Martin? Evans is our PG get used to it.

A+

I'd give it an A+. One excellent player at #4, probably a very good player at #23, and a very nice trade in which we get a promising young point guard. It's a great day, and yet some people can't see it - yet.

Get used to the fact that he's a SG playing PG then I will get used to the fact that he's "our" PG, k? I saw this the first time you tried to point it out to someone. Are you STILL going with the angle that he's a natural PG?

i gave it a B. take the best available talent and if petrie is right, we got the best available player in evans. i, like most of the crowd was hoping for rubio.

if evans doesn't pan out at PG we'll have a shot at wall next draft :) i remember when petrie selected hawes, i was upset and wrong about hawe's skillset. when they selected thompson, i was like who the f is this dude? thompson turned out to be a good pick. i'm going to wait til midseason to judge this pick.

btw, evans said penny was helping him or talking to him. that would be great if penny could give this guy some more pointers at running the lead guard position.

i give it a c-.... we couldve had rubio and sergio... if petrie had made some real moves we couldve had sergio, rubio and #5 pick if he had made a play for the wizards pick. we couldve given them a better package than mike miller and foye... depending on how things workout this offseason this might turn into a F--. the knicks might get rubio, the warriors are trying to get amare and we will still be one of the worst teams in the league next season. there is a good chance that petrie might not make any more moves... this could be it. evans isnt lebron, he is not a player that will automatically make us a good team. we were the worst team in the league for a reason.

i like our team but this wont be a good team anytime soon at this rate. sigh... i hope that sergio becomes a good pg. with the way things ended in the draft i wouldve loved for the kings to trade for rondo or tj ford. now we have tdos to deal with again this offseason. i wonder which teams will make a major trade this summer.

I wanted Rubio but Evans was my alternative at #4 - just never thought both would be setting there forcing Petire to make maybe biggest single call in his long career in Sacramento.

Casspi I thought was a decent possibility but if he stays in Europe next season - it would have been better to go with maybe Blair or some other big who had the ability to board consistently.

Brockman looks off the wall when Mills was sitting there among a couple others who would surely make a lot more sense.

Rodriguez is the only pick up today that deserves an A or B.

After seeing the Gavin's silly over the top display I grade the entire Kings draft day episode a D at best.

i voted for a b, i like the big pg, makes for better defense if things get switched not that automatic mis match. He will develop a jumper hopefully a post game, he may be the best player in this draft. Everyone is mad because we passed on rubio, but hay Geoff hasnt missed much cept for douby who i think is still a nba scorer. Cassipi uhhhhh i dunno bout that one dont know much about him. Brockman small pf ehhhhhh. No prob with #4 pick the other 2 picks thought we could have gotten something better.

portland picks mills i really like there team

I gave it a C. If Rubio were already taken and we picked Evans I would have given it a B. I still don't understand how we passed on Rubio, hopefully I'll soon see and I'll be glad to admit I'm wrong if Evans ends up being a star.

realgm is stating that rubio will stay in europe instead of signing with minny.... that is of course if they cant trade him to the knicks.... his father said that he will be going back to europe for the next year or 2.... this is all petries fault. if he had picked rubio he wouldve stayed and played for the kings or okc if they had picked him.

I'm giving it an A. We probably aren't going to contend for anything but I think this is going to give us a ton of flexibility moving forward. I think we are getting tougher and we picked up some size depending on where Evans and Casspri wind up playing. I am not sure about Brockman but I don't get excited about 2nd round picks until they are on the opening day roster. Obviously his size was a concern - if he can be an off the bench hustle/rebound guy so be it. I don't expect anything more.

Gotta love draft grades.

Nothing better than people gushing or whining over guys that haven't played a single minute in the NBA or even the summer league.
