So YOU were the reason for that onslaught??!?!??!?!!?!!??!?!??
I thought the M's had found their bearings when they pushed and got to within 1 and were ready to catch the Storm and wear them down. But then two things happened. First, DeMya got her 4th foul. After that happened you could see her no longer being aggressive defensively and leaving her person a little bit more room, and then she was no longer helping on defense and letting other players waltz into the lane back door for somebody to find them with the ball. Second, and probably most importantly, Seattle figured out that they maybe should start giving their MVP the ball more out on the perimeter. LJ had some ridiculous stat line in this series from the outside, but Seattle did not do much shooting from there in the first half, and they certainly weren't giving her the ball out there. Once they made that adjustment offensively, that was pretty much all she wrote. The M's had to change up defensively (and act like we have perimeter defense) and that opened up the rest of the Storm players to get their shots to fall.
I'm curious as to why coach went away from Brunson today, she got the cameo Maiga got in game 2. We needed somebody to give us minutes with their sole purpose being hitting the offensive glass and I was surprised not to see her more this game.
I liked the energy the M's brought in the first half, I got what I wanted, them going into the half having withstood the Storm's first half barrage and the deficit being under 12 pts. I definitely liked their second half energy, but they just let down a little and the key seemed to have been the 4th foul on Walker. They made another push, but there was no way they were going to cut down a lead with the offense they have once they let the Storm flirt with that run they went on after they got to within 1 of them, I wanna say they pushed up that lead up to 12-13 before the M's stopped backpeddling.
