Gay/Cousins status updates

Most don't know this but the body structure of teen girls in the pelvic/hip region greatly increases the risk of an ACL tear compared to any other age group. Teenage girl soccer/basketball players have a greater rate of ACL tears than any other age group or sport, male or female. What can you really do to prevent it? It's structural. Practice only twice per week? There's too much IMO which goes into the cause of injuries to look at a coach for playing a guy a few extra mins. Now if Rudy or Boogie hurt themselves when playing in garbage time of a blowout that's a bit different. That's more where an unnecessary risk comes into play.

Its the hips. The hips to knee aren't vertical as they are with men, the upper legs are angled inward obviously, in precisely the direction that ACL injuries typically occur.

Regardless, I hope we err on the side of caution with both. Kings might suck to watch for a few games, but I'd rather they both miss a few extra games and be 100% than have them come back too soon.
With the dynamic we saw in previous two weeks 41 games still left in this season are likely the last games Kings can afford to drop for the forseable future, so the next two-three weeks should be devoted to throwing kids out there on the court to gain experience. Go on a 1-7 or similar run to the lottery, return Cuz vs Chicago, then Rudy vs Warriors and finish season 17-12 to gain momentum and confidence before next season.

You want nothing short of perfection, right? I love it.

We have plenty of business experts here that ready know how much players are going to demand for their new contracts.
We have expert coaches that know what the team rotation should really be.
I am surprised to see so many medical experts. Many of you don't know what you are talking about. A grade III ankle sprain can take a lot more treatment than ibuprofen and rest. It takes intensive treatment and rehab, and as long as a month or more to heal. Achilles injuries can be even worse. For people to "know" which games to insert Cousins and Gay back into the line-up is preposterous.

From Demarcus Cousin's Facebook page...

It looks like a treadmill pool. Running without having to feel the full force of gravity, must be cool to be a pro athlete.

So it's not the money, the fame, or the thought of playing a sport for a living that entices you. It's those darn treadmill pools that float your boat. Interesting... :p

I didn't know what it was. All I knew was that I'd never seen anything like it before. On DMC's FB page somebody compared it to the device Kobe used to help his rehab and it struck me as very impressive that our new ownership can afford the same stuff the Lakers have. ;)

Not sure what the machine is called but it used by professional athletes world wide when recovering from injuries to maintain their fitness. Its basically running without using the body weight so that there is no pressure on that ankle.

AFL players are known to use these widely as part of their rehab when recovering from knee reconstructions. Keeps the cardio fitness up without putting further duress on the injured joint and ligaments.

Well, I wouldn't mind being rich, but you can have that other stuff. Like I've been saying since I was, probably, nine years old, I don't want to be rich and famous: I want to be rich and anonymous. :D Also, I enjoy playing basketball for fun, but the idea of sweating for a paycheck? I'll pass.

But, the toys and the perks? Yeah, I wouldn't mind those, either.

Yeah why would anyone want to be paid handsomely to play ball, sweat, and be in the best shape of their life? :p

Well I think it's all about the obligation to do so. Of course guys like Andrew Bynum kinda throw a wrench in my argument

I'd rather get paid handsomely to sit on my couch in my boxers, eating Cheetos. Besides which, I don't have the soul of an entertainer: the idea of performing for other people brings up the bile from the back of my throat.
