[Game] Game thread: Kings@Jazz, 1/28

What's odd to me and very puzzling is that once again his left shoulder apparently caused his right shoulder to become dislocated...

We should have won the game tonight. We shot better than the Jazz and we turned the ball over less. We lost because Earl Boykins hit that the 3 at the end of the 3rd. Compared to what we have been seeing, the offense looked much smoother.

We aren't going to win games until the role players start hitting wide open looks. I liked what I saw tonight with running the offense through Boogie a bit, but it won't matter until guys like Jimmer/Garcia/Greene/Hickson/Salmons step up

Looks like this shoulder thing is going to be a chronic condition for Chuck. Seems I read somewhere that this has been a problem in the past too. How long did we sign him for? 4 years? Another case of the Kings brass just not doing their homework and due dilligence. This team and management has become the laughing stock thoughout the league....except Im not laughing. Im cryin....

We aren't going to win games until guys like Salmons are mere distant memories.

true that. I was talking more present tense though. The only guys I'd keep on this team in a perfect world are Reke/Cousins/Hayes/Jimmer/IT/JT. Everyone else should be expendable

Shattered! :(

The one that got away! Can someone explain to me why Greene does not get more minutes at SF...especially when Salmons is stinking it up defensively like he has been for majority of the season?!

Thing is that we actually shot okay. Though you are right, the role players need to hit more open shots than they have been.

My best guess is that Salmons came into possession of some very interesting photographs involving either ownership or upper management and a variety of farm animals...

Yeah Hayward just destroyed Salmons. Not a good sign when Salmons is both too small and too slow to guard the opposing teams 2nd year SF.

lol. I actually think that Westphal had a crush on him more or less, but since PW is no longer here...

I think the offense managed to stick to the system for much longer in this game than we had been seeing, but it's an important point that the defense the Jazz played against Tyreke was the exact opposite of how you should D up Tyreke. They let Reke have the drive and the lane, and even with Westphal's offense, that is a recipe for scoring points. Most teams are going to cut that off and when the Jazz actually did this, the Kings struggled again.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Smart continues starting him, and reinserting him into the game. Doesn't strike me as a smart thing to do.

Our FG% was halfway decent basically because of Reke/JT/IT having fantastic shooting nights. Everyone else was god awful. Those 4 guys took up 56 minutes of play time tonight and didn't score a single point. We can't have that from our role players if we want to win

My conspiracy theory......

The management has already written off the season and are pushing Salmons through in the hope that he starts playing well so that we can flog him off to some team looking for an "addition" for the play offs. Its the only plausible scenario for me as logically looking at things, he should not be getting many minutes, let alone start and play majority of them. Just like last year, we are getting killed by the opposition's SF on a regular basis.

There's a stage production called "The Fantasticks." One of the non-speaking roles is, I swear to Naismith, that of "the wall," where an actor stands mid-stage with arms extended for long periods of time, representing a garden wall. Honest.

I truly believe that's about all we should expect of at least one of our role players. Anything more is clearly out of his league.

You could be right. And that our FO has completely written off the season in that scenario, is all due to an asinine acquisition by our FO is the first place.

You won't get an argument from me on that one! Its been one botched up off-season that has set us back 2 years!

Should I mention that at this point, Casspi is outproducing Salmons?

And Casspi has been just flat out bad.

But as I mentioned in the last grades, going by a combo stat like PER Salmons is the very worst starter in the NBA, at any position. I was jsut shaking my head when I saw him back in the lienup again today. He must have pictures of Smart cavorting with shaved goats or something.

I think part of the reason they weren't able to cut it off was because of the improved offensive scheme. Reke was doing a good job moving without the ball. Seemed like he was doing less dribble penetration from the top of the key than he normally does.
