[Game] Game Thread, Bucks at Kings, 1/5/12

DeMarcus giving us some internet material by hugging Smart at the end of the game. if that relationship continues to blossom, we're going to have a good thing here

SLAB

Hall of Famer
I love Smart's energy this post-game conference! It's like he inhaled an entire cup of purified caffiene before He started talking!

What a win!

Keith Smart is saying all the right things in his press conference. I didn't know much about him prior to this season, but I am already a huge fan. Tonight is a good night

thank you Kings for the come from behind win!! i like how the Kings won, which was with good steady defense in the 4th!! now please play like this in 4 quarters every game!!

Energy and effort is what got us this win. Half court offense is still stagnant, and Thornton and Salmons are some of the biggest black holes i have ever seen. Making this team a running team is the best way to go for this season. Cousins dominated inside, granted against a pitiful front line. Tyreke looked great, but again against a weak front line with no shotblocking. I want to see him be effective against teams with shotblockers. Salmons was terrible until the fourth quarter. I liked the rotation from coach smart. Drew Gooden looked like an all star out there at times. Brandon Jennings is the pg version of Jamal Crawford, when hes on hes on, when hes off hes useless.

the best thing to do this season is to push the ball like the denver nuggets as much as possible, Tyreke is like a train once he gets in his stride. Jimmer needs to learn to streak out to the 3pt line on fastbreaks, A couple of times he almost ran into tyreke, if he streaks to the 3pt line, tyreke has a much easier layup, or can kick out to jimmer for an open 3.

You're an idiot. Jimmer was terrible shooting tonight. He was missing open 3s. Did you watch the game? Get out of here. They were moving the ball more, Smart was drawing out plays and screaming at them to move the ball to a certain player. The haven't even had any practices under him yet. That second half is how you close out games.

Even when MT is missing his shots, he's still been better than Jimmer on his best night so far in the NBA.

Damn, chill out. Jimmer was off tonight, but that doesn't mean he can't shoot for the rest of his career. You know what Jimmer has done consistently his entire basketball tenure? Hit the outside shot. And that didn't suddenly change when he came to the NBA. He had an off game, sure, but he is a rookie.

lil harsh, I think he had a valid point about Jimmer needing to play like a 2.

Yes is watched the whole game you idiot, what would you be saying if we lost tonight? we lost by 20+ to the grizzlies without randolph, we lost by 27 to the nuggets without Nene, and we were down by 21 at half time to Bucks without Bogut. Its just funny how much a win changes everyones perceptions of something. My gripes obviously aren't with Keith Smart, its with the mentality of our players. They are all one on one players, their instinct is to score first, second, and third. their fourth option is to pass. Thornton hit some tought shots, if he misses some of those everyone is labeling him a black hole chucker. Tyreke had a nice game, i actually saw him driving and kicking, and yes our 3 pt shooting was off, but those were open looks.

Do you even know the concept of how to run a fast break? When its a 2 on 2 fast break (Tyreke and Jimmer), Jimmer should fade out to the 3pt line, forcing his man to follow him or stay inside to contest Evans, then Evans have the option to kick out to an open Jimmer. Jimmer is a shooter that is stuggling because of many circumstances (thrown into the fire with no training camp or summer league, lack of structure in offense). I like what i saw from Tyreke and Cousins tonight, although Cousins needs to learn to read double teams and find open shooters.

okay, the Bucks were missing their big guy and we looked a little ragged at times with 19 turnovers, still, we did grab 55 rebounds and shot 83% from the stripe. To bad about Chuck. Wonder if Petrie is burning the midnight oil looking for a replacement?
