[Game] Game Thread, Bucks at Kings, 1/5/12

Yes is watched the whole game you idiot, what would you be saying if we lost tonight? we lost by 20+ to the grizzlies without randolph, we lost by 27 to the nuggets without Nene, and we were down by 21 at half time to Bucks without Bogut. Its just funny how much a win changes everyones perceptions of something. My gripes obviously aren't with Keith Smart, its with the mentality of our players. They are all one on one players, their instinct is to score first, second, and third. their fourth option is to pass. Thornton hit some tought shots, if he misses some of those everyone is labeling him a black hole chucker. Tyreke had a nice game, i actually saw him driving and kicking, and yes our 3 pt shooting was off, but those were open looks.

Do you even know the concept of how to run a fast break? When its a 2 on 2 fast break (Tyreke and Jimmer), Jimmer should fade out to the 3pt line, forcing his man to follow him or stay inside to contest Evans, then Evans have the option to kick out to an open Jimmer. Jimmer is a shooter that is stuggling because of many circumstances (thrown into the fire with no training camp or summer league, lack of structure in offense). I like what i saw from Tyreke and Cousins tonight, although Cousins needs to learn to read double teams and find open shooters.

Fair, apologies for the harsh remarks. Give them time. At least a week, or at least until the next game to see if you see even more plays and ball movement. Smart hasn't even been able to start practices with them - everything he had he was essentially drawing out and calling for right there.

We'll have to judge some of Jimmer's shooting in the upcoming weeks. We'll have the time. Because he's missed a lot of wide open 3s (granted, inside the arc seems pretty automatic). People label MT a blackhole chucker when he dribbles into two defenders and hoists up a ball. There was a moment in that game I think that he could have swung it over to Jimmer.

I'm hoping the kid picks up his stride. Jennings hit that long 3 among others that I hope to see Jimmer making in the future. If they start practicing plays for each other and setting things up where they feel comfortable getting the ball and swinging it around the perimeter if need be where Jimmer can get it.

okay, the Bucks were missing their big guy and we looked a little ragged at times with 19 turnovers, still, we did grab 55 rebounds and shot 83% from the stripe. To bad about Chuck. Wonder if Petrie is burning the midnight oil looking for a replacement?

Nah, Hayes is out two weeks, max I think it said. Clean dislocation, so he should be good soon enough.

You're an idiot. Jimmer was terrible shooting tonight. He was missing open 3s. Did you watch the game? Get out of here. They were moving the ball more, Smart was drawing out plays and screaming at them to move the ball to a certain player. The haven't even had any practices under him yet. That second half is how you close out games.

Even when MT is missing his shots, he's still been better than Jimmer on his best night so far in the NBA.
WTF is wrong with you? You call the guy an idiot for that post? Pretty much everything he said was spot on. Just because you have posted 300 times in the past month doesn't make you knowledgeable on the Kings or the game of basketball. In fact, most of the stuff I've read from you is pathetic.

the best thing to do this season is to push the ball like the denver nuggets as much as possible, Tyreke is like a train once he gets in his stride. Jimmer needs to learn to streak out to the 3pt line on fastbreaks, A couple of times he almost ran into tyreke, if he streaks to the 3pt line, tyreke has a much easier layup, or can kick out to jimmer for an open 3.
Smart said he wants to push the ball, but you gotta have players who can make the right choice on the fast break. Team looks lost on FBs right now.

Wasn't Jennings shooting 18% or something before this game? I bet the bucks fans wanted to trade him for cap relief.

So disappointing that every shot jimmer takes isn't going in, what is wrong with him??? Is 100% shooting that much to ask for?

It was 18% of something but he Jennings is a sreak shooter and I doubt that was the percentage on the year.

Yes, Jimmer should hit 100% or why did we draft him. :)

Alright, I'll bite. A) I apologized for the insult, if you read further down. And I used that term "idiot" for referring to the mentality that Jimmer should be the one on the floor for those fast breaks, when he just got done tearing down the teams efforts during the game (i.e. DMC against pitiful front court, etc). Hoping to see more of Jimmer, think he needs to show some progress with the minutes he's given now.

And B) Good strawman. Nowhere did I say that the number of times I've posted on this forum makes me anywhere near as knowledgeable on the Kings, or basketball, as you probably suppose yourself to be, and I know there are many on this board that know more about me than basketball.

But I'm done with the forum, at least for the time being. I've found way too many of the users, definitely myself included, being insulting or condescending more and more these days as well, so I know I'm at fault as well, but too many of you get into a flat out pissing match and think your opinions are always 100% right, your way or the high way.

Now, there are exceptions. Some of you have been nothing but great contributors and very good about it, even when you come up against "the classic fan who has a favorite player", to criticism you've seen before, etc.

But in response to the negatives, Now I've found myself lashing out at too many people now and then, or being overly critical, and let it be known that nothing personal was meant.

Now, don't get me wrong. I f**k up too. But this condescending and battling each other is a trend on this forum I've noticed increasing more and more. And I repeat that because I know someone is going to have something to say about it, so I'm re-iterating: I know I've made plenty of mistakes, as well.

So best of luck to you all, and I hope that LWP777 never, God forbid, has a post that any of you deem pathetic.

Indeed. That tends to happen on the internet in general but it seems more prevalent on this forum that most. It’s natural to feel our opinions are correct. After all, if we didn’t feel they were correct, why would we hold them?

That doesn’t mean that we have to berate and talk down to folks who hold differing opinions, though. All too often people seem more interested in positioning themselves as experts than in learning about what other’s think. Rather than consider your angle, they want to convert you over to their way of seeing things and if you don’t comply, well...then you’re an idiot! LOL

That can be pretty frustrating if you’re just looking for some interesting discussion rather than heated exchanges where someone has to be the “winner” and someone comes out the “loser”.

Personally, I’ve never liked to approach discussions/debates that way. I already know what I think, so there’s no point in getting into a debate just to use it as an exercise to reiterate what I already believe. The purpose of a debate is to consider OTHER opinions/beliefs and measure them against your own. If one goes into it with a degree of humility rather than a sense of self righteousness, one might find that occasionally, they learn something. I know I do.

That’s not to say I always come away from an exchange feeling I learned something from the other person. In fact, I’d say usually I don’t. But that’s OK. I can disagree with someone but still respect their opinion and still hear them out.
