Game Plan vs LA?

It will be interesting to see Martin on Kobe. I believe that Kobe will be surpirsed at Kevin's quickness. Does anyone perceive a lack of team chemistry when Bibby and Peja are on the floor together?

If after something like 7 years they don't know how to play together(against L.A.!) then basketball doesn't have sence.I think they are going to be fine since we know in which position we are in this moment.

wait... peja is playing tonight? good so maybe odom wont go crazy on us.... cause i was scared of the idea of garcia guarding odom....

My game plan? Pretty far out there...I suggest strongly that we score more points than the Lakers do.

Hmmm... that's not a bad plan, but I suggest we go a different route: we should try and find a way such that we can score less points than the Lakers, and still win the game. I know what you're thinking... it's really tough, and yes, no one's ever done it before, but folks, have the Kings ever been known to do anything the normal way?? No! We shun the norm!! We play exciting basketball and we're successful! We play with flash and we play with substance! We can score less points and still win the game!

Here's to hoping they make history!

:D

wow.

I cannot believe the attitude of some people towards one of our own players. That is what is truly sad - not that Peja is going to play.
.
Completely understandable though. The offense seems to play better without him because its not based around letting him find his shots.

True, and I understand the angst and frustration. I just really, really, really hate to see it get to the point where we're bashing our own more than even Laker trolls do...

Peja's not a bad guy. He's not the devil incarnate. He's a player in a system that is no longer designed around him and suited to his style of play. AND he's having about as bad a career season as any in recent memory.

I personally would really like to see him play LIMITED minutes, especially if he's not effective right off the bat. More than anything, however, I would like to see him do whatever it takes to get healthy.

Yes, as a matter of fact, some of us are saying that the Kings are better, at this moment in time, without Peja and SAR. Peja has a chronic back problem that takes away the only real value he has - shooting. SAR still has his jaw wired shut, for God's sake, and cannot even take multiple deep breaths with any kind of ease. I might be wrong, but I'd really prefer my PF to be able to breathe freely if he's going to be playing.

This is KINGSFANS.com. It's about the team first. Right now, the team is doing better without the walking wounded in the line-up.

Yeah, you're wrong. If I were Adelman, I would make sure all my players have trouble breathing before they step on the court. Now that would be a guaranteed victory! :p

Game Plan?? When Martin-Bibby-Garcia-KT and Miller start the Kings are 4-1. The are beginning to stick to a defensive game plan outlined by Adelman in an article I believe in Sports Illustrated online.

So now Peja's back is better and he gets back in starting lineup. A disruption of what is finally looking like a group that can win. Sitting Peja? no, not really. But why not bring him off bench to ease his back into game conditions? Sure would be nice to see "the Kids" take on the Los Angeles Kobes.

so, how is this different from the situation of about 2 years ago where we were actually first in the Western conference and brought a player back from injury. Don't remember him being brought back slowly, or playing spot minutes or getting healty ? Isn't this a double standard ?

Actually I would rather see Garcia gaurding him. Peja if he plays tonight, can't keep up with him especially after comming of a injury. As far as chemistry goes, I think this team will be fine and will adjust back to things. Remember, Lakers aren't the Suns so they can beat you in many ways, not just shooting threes.

Actually the team hasn't been playing well with or without starters. Good word I like to use to describe this team is inconsistentcy.

You aren't even going to try to compare bringing Chris Webber back after he underwent surgery and rehabbed his knee in hopes of having him totally up to speed for the playoffs to bringing Peja back when we don't even know the real extent of his injury, he's had a shot to restore feeling to his leg and we're not risking anything by keeping him out, are you?

You know what. Don't even bother answering. There is NO comparison of the two situations and I'm not going to rehash it. If you honestly think it's in the team and Peja's best interests to bring him back, that's fine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

Peace.

Actually, the team has done better without the starters. And my comment about the walking wounded stands. Peja is far from totally healthy. SAR still has his jaw wired shut, which will restrict his breathing. In addition, his stamina has to be down because he hasn't been able to eat meaning he's lost some weight, etc.

The word inconsistency is being through around way too much, IMHO. Of course the team has been inconsistent. That happens when you have injuries to starters, a bench that had been totally ineffective, undersized players at key positions, etc. I would be more surprised if they had been consistent than I am at their inconsistency.

It's about product right now. The product we've seen the past couple of games isn't going to win the playoffs; they won't bring the O'Brien trophy to Sacramento this year; they aren't going to be remembered 30 years from now. BUT what they have done is restore a little bit of pride in themselves and they've given the fans at least a little reason to cheer again. And that's something.

Actually, it's a LOT.

Yea I'm not too worried about winning or losing either, I just like when our team is giving their full effort and trying to win. Thats what makes a fan happy and it's important that the players are also appreciated for their effort. We've seen that during the past few games. (Of course a couple of wins would be nice too) :)

Give Kobe the bad cheesecake to give him food poisoning before the game. No, seriously, just do your best against Kobe and concentrate on stopping everybody else.
