Game Log for John Salmons

add turnovers please

There are plenty of areas to question Salmons, but I'm not sure where this is coming from. It seems like misconception that has spread quickly. Salmons' passing is far from John Stockton; however, he has been close to or over a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio every year.

His career stats are (last one is career averages):

AST. TO A/TO ratio
1.7 1.0 1.7
2.0 0.9 2.22
2.7 1.5 1.8
1.8 1.0 1.8

Bibby's stats are 6.5 - 2.7 (2.4)
Bo Jax is - 2.7 - 1.5 (1.8)
Wells - 2.3-2.2 (1.1)
Christie is 3.6 - 2.1 (1.7)

Like most young players, Salmons can probably improve his decision making with the ball, but I think we can drop the view that he is "turnover prone."

Don't look for Slamons to put up great numbers. He is a sparkplug type player who can get to the basket. Plus he is an on the ball defender.

Sure he can spot start if needed and fill in nicely, but I am still kind of upset about his contract. Hopefully he will play up to his pay.

From "Stoked Salmons" in the Bee this morning:

What's more, Salmons said his separation from seven-time All-Star Allen Iverson will show his true capability. Musselman agreed, noting that Salmons' scoring rose dramatically whenever he played without Iverson on the floor.
"The situation in Philly was a difficult situation, just because when you've got one of the best scorers to ever play the game, it's hard not to give him the ball," Salmons said. "(Iverson) is a tremendous player -- pound for pound one of the best players to ever play the game. … But sometimes people just don't play well together. It was just one of those situations where two people didn't play well together on the court, and we just had to go our separate ways."

Apparently, Musselman disagrees with some here that Salmons' on-court performances without The Answer around did indeed have significance.
