People...it's preseason. Malone was just trying to see what Ben would do in a situation like that. Why not practice it in a high stress situation when the game doesn't count?

That wasn't a selfish play by Ben. That's the play coach wanted him to execute. It was pretty obvious by the way it was all set up.

I'm more upset that coach put Ben in at the last second then told him to take the game winning shot.. what the **** Malone?? Why the hell would you do that to Ben...then do it to the guys who were already on the floor?? Seriously??? I remember last year Ben taking a lot of game tieing or game clutching shots. But why Malone why?

 Did anyone not see that coming with Ben? How can something so athletic look so ugly? Whatever iota of confidence he had left has just died.

I lol'ed at that ben iso. honestly guys, its preseason. I think Malone just wanted them to do whatever and figure it out themselves

97-95 Nets over Kings nail biter in front of over 17,000 in Shanghai. Meanwhile, next game tips at 4:30 AM PT from Beijing. Kings off tomorrow but their huge traveling entourage (I heard around 150) is going to play tourist now for a few hours at the Great Wall of China. beautiful-great-wall-of-china-seven-wonders-world.jpg

Gotta disagree. That was something Keith Smart did on a regular basis...and it doesn't help the team or Ben's confidence at all. There were at least two players on the court who should have taken that last shot...and they all know it.

Even if we lost only good came from that game, aside from Cousins the other strength of this team is our underrated twin PG attack, I don't mind the ball going to Ben or Nik in that situation cause we already know guys like COusins/Sessions/Collison and Gay in particular are going to be taking all those during the regular season

Preseason or not, why the hell did Coach chose to put Ben in the game after not playing a single minute in the 3rd quarter to take the game winning shot? What the hell was he trying to do there? Anyone care to explain? There's really no explanation for it..unless Coach just wanted to say F it all

The 1-4 flat really is a sickness among coaches to close out games. Some guys and teams are obviously a lot better at it than others, but I don't understand why it's smart to abandon your offense just because it's the last play

Just like he was trying to see what the Twin Duplexes could do. And what, exactly, can McLemore do in a situation like that, Michael Imperioli?

"Nothin'."

Well, that 1-4 flat would probably have looked a lot better with Rudy running that play than Ben but I agree. Come the season, I'd rather see a Cuz play to close things out.

I agree. If the broadcasters were true about Coach just wanting to see how his unit would reply to a game winning situation, why on earth would he put in a guy who has played 0 minutes in the entire 4th quarter? I remember Mark Jackson telling his guys who were in the game he wouldn't take them out, because he knew they could do it. (He meant on both defense and offense). The Warriors won that game at the end. This was one of those mic'd up things the NBA does.

I've said it more than twice. There are a lot of "less talented" players that I'd gladly take over Carl Landry.
You mean on this team right? Not in general but, a healthy Carl Landry on most teams would help more than Hollins but on this team maybe you are right.

I mean yea, but even among the best players in the NBA, it's still often a really low % play. I recall an article a few years back where they mapped out guys with 15+ game tying shots and there were only like 3 people out of 30+ above 50%. And most guys were in the low 40's.

Why would I give a **** if Carl Landry is a better fit on some other team? If he's a better fit on the gd lakers, they're welcome to him.

Way to boost Ben's confident Malone. Yea, let's put in a guy who played 0 minutes in the 4th quarter and force him to create for himself(knowing he can't) and take the game winning shot for us. Way to boost Nik's confident too.
