[Game] Game 35: Sacramento Kings vs. OKC Thunder, 1/7/14 7PM PST, 10PM EST

So, question for the night: Have the Kings found a way to channel Mike Malone's teachings? What I saw the first half looked more like how we were playing the first few weeks of the season. Now if they can find someone on the coaching staff who will take one for the team we're good.

GO KINGS!

I think the coaches went into the trash can when D'alessandro wasn't looking and pulled out some of Malone's old lessons. ;)

Comments have been made on Twitter about how obnoxious some Thunder fans are tonight. Looks like Slamson is taking care of it for us:

Amazing that we are actually shooting a worse percentage than the Thunder at the half. We definitely need to get that percentage up - quite a bit - if we're going to hold on.

I said earlier we looked like we just ignored everything PDA has said, and by extension Corbin has said. We looked much more like we did under Malone.

JT back in the starting 5, commitment to defense, hit the boards, more physical, slowed it down and played through Cuz. Cut down on the quick transition shots. We went back to our strengths and what Malone had us doing. Corbin gets credit for running out Landry with Hollins.

I remember dealing with dumb Thunder fans during the first(?) Here We Stay Game.

They lived in Sacramento and apparently didn't realize that the Kings moving would make it so they'd have to drive to Oakland to watch their "favorite" team.

Reminds me of

Luke Skywalker = Sacramento Kings
Obi-Wan Kenobi = Michael Malone

DMC just doing what he needs to do. And the Kings are doing what they need to do. And what is PDA doing? I couldn't possibly care less. This is OUR team, this is DMC's team, this is the SACRAMENTO KINGS. And yes, I think my optimism just might be back.

:)

Perhaps you didn't listen to PDA's interview where he emphasized that we had to play better defense.

Are you honestly going to try and say this is NOT exactly the kind of ball we were playing earlier this year under Malone? Really?

Even our assistant says we're going back to what worked earlier, that being defense.

PDA is about to blow a gasket. This is open defiance. I love it. There's a reason coaches are coaches and weasel GM's sit next to the fans.
That's simply amazing. If only we could have done this 10 games or so earlier! Id love to hear PDA and Vivek's comments

I like this post, and since I can't like it twice, I quoted it.

One thing that pisses me off about the whole firing Malone fiasco, is we very well could have been building towards a rivalry with OKC. We match up well with them. Both teams hate each other. Could have been two teams heading towards the playoffs.

Hopefully it happens over the next couple years. Cuz vs Durant and co.

I never said that. Just pointing out that PDA never said "don't play defense" - in fact he said the opposite, despite what many seem to think.
