Looking at the FIBA Americas region and, obviously, the United States has been dominant throughout the region's history. It's pretty much been Brazil and Argentina fighting it out for number two, with occasional cameo appearances by the likes of Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. But now I'm looking at B-R.com, and I see some promising young talent for Team Canada (in chronological order):
Andrew Nicholson (ORL)
Tristan Thompson (CLE)
Kelly Olynyk (BOS)
Cory Joseph (SAS)
Anthony Bennett (MIN)
Nik Stauskas (SAC)
Tyler Ennis (PHO)
Andrew Wiggins (MIN)
And there's probably more where they came from... We all understand that they'll never surpass the United States, but how many years away is Canada from being the second-best team in the region?
