Interesting 4th quarter match-ups:

1.) Collison vs. Parker
2.) McLemore vs. Ginobili (?)
3.) Gay vs. Leonard
4.) Landry vs. Diaw
5.) Cousins vs. Duncan

Our talent can match their talent pound for pound.

What is worrying is - we are miles behind in terms of coaching.

Malone needs an A-coaching game. He needs to think hard enough of every substitution/adjustments and make clear to the players every instructions, especially to our basketball-IQ deficient players.

Sessions needs to play with great concentration and passion, especially on facilitating offense and more importantly defense.

I hope McLemore plays a very intense/active game again especially on defense. I think we have a very good chance, especially Spurs will be playing its second of a back-to-back game.

Go Landry!

Go McLemore!

Go Kings!

After doing some super-duper research (reading Spurs forums), it appears that Marco Belinelli and Tiago Splitter are ruled out for tonight's game due to injuries.

Yeah, but those guys for a while.

I was more hoping that Pop would rest Duncan like he did against Houston. Fair's fair right? Ah well, if the ****ing refs will give us a damn break Cuz can wreck the old man too if he's allowed to stay on the floor.

This team just got kicked directly below the belt by the league (They also kicked themselved planty hard as well) and they can either suck it up show up ready to play, or roll over and die.

The raging pessimist in me is screaming that they don't even show up and get blown out of the gym by 20+ points. It's what I've grown used to and what I've learned to expect from the Kings. Tonight's a show me game. I don't even care if they lose, as long as they compete and play composed solid basketball for 4 quarters. Big game to test the team and coaching staff's mettle.

I watched the 2nd half of the Memphis game again. What stood out was how passive Landry was in the game. The Kings didn't have him as a focal point, didn't make a point of getting him the ball near the basket, and just plain ignored him. He, in turn, just went through the motions and didn't call aggressively for the ball. Imo, Landry needs to be the primary focal point of the 2nd unit on offense; not Gay. I'd rather we throw it into Landry at the post than have Gay be the point forward on the perimeter. Also, if you don't get Landry a considerable number of shots when he's subbing, I don't see the point of having him in there at all; he's not a major defensive contributor. Heck, if the Kings want to do the same type of offense with the subs going forward (whatever offense that is exactly), and Landry continues to be a tertiary offensive option, I'd rather have him on the bench altogether and have Hollins take his place. At least then you'd have a guy in Hollins who wouldn't get the ball (like Landry), but who could make more of a defensive impact.

They haven't looked for Landry in the the 4th quarter of games in which he has had it going. That's a mistake that is hopefully taken care of

If we teleport in a new bench we might have a shot.

Yeah, but with our luck the new bench would end up embedded in the chairs as in The Philadelphia Experiment.

I know that won't happen, but if Cousins plays more than 36 minutes, Kings win.

I wonder if Cuz understands this. He has been told to be the center of the defense which exposes him to fouling. He needs to be told something else or, ideally, get ourselves a defender so Boogie feels less defensive responsibility.

Cough syrup + a couple of swigs of whiskey + a couple of nasal decongestants = today's game thread post

If you're having any trouble seeing the game, our team is the pink elephants, not the pink elephants - that's the Spurs.

I hate that the Spurs ALWAYS choose to sit on the Kings end of the benches. I don't think visiting teams should be able to do that, as some of our STH pay for those tickets behind the Kings bench primarily BECAUSE they're behind the Kings bench.

Aren't they just shooting on the goal nearest the visitors bench in the first half? Not sitting on the other side?

I truly envy the Spurs for their ability to show patience at every juncture. I'm not sure I've ever seen Duncan lose his composure over defensive coverage. He just waits it out and "takes what the defense gives him."

This was my thinking: I thought that the road team only got to choose which goal they defended in the first half?
