Gag order

Can I have clarification? Is this a miilion dollar fine for the Maloofs talking about going to Anaheim or about the CBA? It's the CBA, right? If so, we are getting bad informtion and we should be a little more critical in our thinking and I mean me too. If it doesn't make sense, it's probably wrong. Right?

That thing about benching Cousins generated a long conversation and the information was wrong or at the least, slightly inaccurate. He wasn't benched. He just didn't start.

Reading the link that was provided (http://blogs.sacbee.com/sports/kings/archives/2011/02/nba-has-gag-ord.html#mi_rss=Kings/NBA) I think it's highly irresponsible for persons to claim that there is a "gag order". The link says that the Maloofs were urged/advised by Stern and their advisers to keep quiet on the issue and to not attend the game tomorrow (they'll be attending anyway.)

Nowhere in the article does it say that the Maloofs were ordered by Stern to keep quiet, or that they would be punished by the NBA if they made any comments.

There is no gag order, only advice that "it might be better for you to not comment on the issue."

I would think that were striving for the truth, and not someone's perception of a news release. In the short report I read, there was nothing about a gag order, and the denial of any kind of fine. I saw no reference to a million dollars. Now perhaps I read the wrong report, but if not, I think the person that somehow turned that report into a gag order and a million dollar fine, needs to take some lessons in reading comprehension.

I guess it makes for interesting conversation though.

I wouldnt surprise me if there was a million dollar fine for talking about the CBA. There could be a smaller fine or other penalty for the Maloofs talking about the Arena situation.

I saw a note that mentioned a gag order and a million dollar fine and then it was changed. Pisses me off. I think the original blog by AV was changed but I got lost in the details as very quickly it exploded into conjecture, mainly mine, sadly.

We all and me in particular should never go off on a rant about something that sounds outrageous like the "Cousins was benched" note. If it sounds outrageous, it probably is.

About the CBA, yes, but it was written to sound like the Maloofs would be punished for talking about moving to Anaheim. I get what you are saying except i don't think Stern has the power to fine a team for talking about a move.

And there was a denial of any fine being threatened by the league. I've yet to see any official release by the Kings or the league. Until I do see such a release, I'll go on the assumption that other than advice, there's nothing more to this story.

By the way. I know I tend to get long winded at times. The reason I do, is because I don't want anyone to have any flexability in how they percieve the point I'm trying to make. The problem we have with the news today is that it is all just one line soundbites. Many times taken out of context and used for whatever purpose deemed necessary by the user. God forbid anyone strain their brains by having to read an entire paragraph. Not refering to you, as I'm sure you know.
