Chicago paper says Fundy is interviewing with the Bulls this weekend about a position even tho' he hasn't played in 2 years. But he is in great shape the article says. Geez, he used to be instant points as a backup to CWebb and a decent journeyman PF. Wonder why Kings didn't talk to him?

Or did they? Wasn't he at a recent Kings game? :D

A position as what?

That's pretty ridiculous. Got to be somebody better, and younger, than that out there if you're just trying to add a body for the playoffs with the Doughboy out in the middle.

Yeah, I agree. But who??? He always was in top shape and could run the court.

Bulls are looking for another big body cuz of their injuries and also it brings in another older player with experience come PO time

While I am sure there is a better option out there that will give them a big body and play off experience with out also bringing along chroninc injuries or baggage, but I honestly can't think of one. Good luck guys!

How about a 35 yr old not-big body with a bad knee who hasn't played in two years and was a marginal player before then? All I can think is that they are just looking for a solid citizen with no intention of actually playing him. When I read the intial post, untilt he very end I thought they were loking at him as an assistant coach or something.

Agreed that Fundy ain't all that and a bag of chips but like I said I can't think of a big guy with experience that is available with out steamer trunks of baggage or much worse injuries than Fundy (Ok Karl Malone comes to mind but last I heard he wanted jewerly to play). So your description of Funny about hits the nail on the head but lets face it when you go out at 10:00 at night Christmass eve your wife jsut has to accept the neon green hot dog cooker walffel iron, ice cream maker combo beceause it realy was the best you could do.

Fundy has a book coming out in June and is committed, from what I understand, to a pretty intensive pre-release book tour. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out this whole thing was about his book and not about him actually returning to play.

;)

KT does what Fundy does, only he's better. They could use a 7 foot guy that can give you a double double every night and pass the ball like a PG. I sure hope he shows up soon. ;)

Spoken like a divorced man. :p

Cory Blount turned them down because of the way he was cut last year (day after the deadline for PO eligability). Skiles doesn't do iffy characters (e.g. Keon Clark) and Skiles played with and coached Fundy while with PAOK in Greece. You can say that Skiles' view of Fundy is little bit rose-tinted since between Skiles, Fundy and Pedja they won everything under the sun in Greece.

Plus Keon Clark sucks. He gets punished on the inside because he is too weak. If they are honestly trying to fill a spot that Curry left behind, they would be better off dressing a broom in a Bulls uniform and sticking it under the oppossing basket.

The Chicage Tribune is reporting that barring failing his physical, Lawrence Funderburke is the newest member of the Bulls.

Here.

Uh...no. He is weak. And of course he's a headcase. But he does not suck.. Or did not when he was playing. And was a major reason why our defense was so good in '03. A very good interior defender with his length. not going to guard Shaq, but makes penetration hard for eveyrybody.

Damn. That means that, as of today, Lionel Simmons, Harold Pressley and Predrag Stojakovic are currently the only players in Sacramento-era franchise history to play their entire career* with the Kings...

Fundy was my favorite player, too... :(

Well he's really lucky though... He's really intelligent, so he wouldnt have a problem after the NBA (well thats what i heard...)

He already has a life outside the NBA.

He has a degree in personal finance and has a book coming out in June. The Bulls must have made him a pretty lucrative offer for him to come back to the NBA after two years idle. I don't think it's a resumption of his career. I think they got him to fill the huge gaps in their roster because of boo-boos. I would be VERY surprised if he's around any longer than as long as the Bulls last in the playoffs.

Might actually be a pretty good way to hype the book, which is scheduled for release in June.

;)
