lol and someone on STR said Ben's contract was insulting. At this point, the Kings are better off locking McLemore to a 5 year $35million deal before the season and hoping he pans out. Because if he really does pan out next year... he's looking at, at least 15m.

Here's what I'm thinking. We see Joakim and Timofey getting these crazy deals... and I'm thinking Vlade is a move ahead of the game over-spending draft picks on BIG guys. Now we have DeMarcus, WCS, Koufas and Papa John on absolutely wonderful contracts - and there are a lot more wings and guards to choose from than there are bigs.
I'm giving Vlade huge props for drafting a big instead of a wing if they turn out to be even remotely similar contributors. Vlade was only wrong if Papa John turns out to be a total stiff.

When you look at our roster and respective salaries, we have some of the best bargains in the league. Should make for a good trade currency if needed. Kosta, Rudy, Collison.

Another thing is that for Noah and Mozgov it was the Lakers and Knicks and never underestimate how stupid this franchises are.

I hear you but I also think Vlade knows man, Vlade knows. He knows first hand - remember what people were saying about Petrie when he gave Vlade the big free agent contract? Vlade knows that bigs are always gonna be the main scarce resource and the first one to buy it gets it for the best deal. The prices for bigs are only going to the moon.
No way a regular size guy as mediocre and/or washed up as Mozgov and Noah are gonna demand huge bucks. The ones that will are young ones with upside like Bazemore and Crabbe.

This is the one year where I'm actually glad that the Kings are basically every free agents last resort.
Teams are going to be stocked full of average players taking up massive amounts of their salary cap. Hopefully Vlade makes the right decisions (No Waiters) when picking up players off the scrap heap. I'd rather win 30 games and watch the young kids develop than get stuck under a handful of bad 3-4 year deals on C and D level players that set our franchise back years due to being untradeable.

Waiters normally shoots in the same vicinity of the percentages that Belinelli shot last year. Except he shoots a lot more. Plays about the same defense too.

The thing is- look around the league and the FA class, bigs aren't a scarce resource right now- wings/guards that can defend and shoot are.
Bazemore, Lee and Crabbe are going to get paid huge money right now- Bazemore is 26 years old and never scored over 13 points, Lee is 30 and never scored more than 12.5.
